Hi. I'm new to Christianity and the Bible, but I just started reading it. I got to the part where Moses parted the Sea and I thought that was one of the most awesome things I have ever heard. I thought if God could do miracles as big as that, then healing people of cancer or something like that could be easy for him. I really think the reason miracles like parting the sea don't happen today is because people don't have as much faith in him today as they did back then. So the bible is helping me increase my faith to a new level

Anyway, so I felt inspired to sing his name. So I sang the name Jehova over and over again like ten times while keeping in mind the miracles he performed during the times of the bible. Immediately I felt so much peace and joy and I really felt like I was in the present moment without my mind running like crazy. So I thought maybe you guys might want to try it. I thought it was cool. :)

That's wonderful to hear! Focusing and setting your mind on the Lord is always the best way to peace. Staying in that place is the challenging part for me. Peaks and valleys. Thank you for sharing. :)

Of course God, our Healer, can heal cancer or any other condition, and I believe He does all the time. We live in a big, busy world where His work is often overlooked and unreported. You know of the miracles written about in scripture because the Holy Spirit prompted people to tell about them, and they did. Does He prompt people today to do that? I'm not sure, but I've always suspected what we have in scripture is the greatest and final revelation of His mighty power. He gave us what we need to know Him and His nature, but He Calls us to experience Him more in a personal relationship.

I'm simple minded, and that's my understanding, anyway.

I think what you experienced is not that much different than speaking in tongues. It's not really you, and you are totally relaxed, and it fills you with peace. That's what tongues do for me.

BTW, the more you get acquainted with missionaries, and talk with them, the more you will hear of all sorts of miracles still occurring all the time in "backward" countries where they do not feel like THEY invented the world, and keep it going.

I participate in a men's gospel chorus. About four or five years ago our director was driving to work on a state highway and suddenly lost control of his body. His foot pressed the accelerator completely to the floor and he was unable to control the car. He was fully conscious as his car swerved into oncoming traffic and then back again finally ending up in the ditch missing a power pole by inches. The ditch was full of snow and that stopped the car. Turned out he suffered a grand mal seizure resulting from a brain tumor he didn't realize he had. According to what he told us the tumor was about the size of a baseball with multiple tentacles interlacing his brain. The doctors told him it was inoperable and it was expected he had only a few weeks to live.

As a group we all gathered around him and as much as possible laid hands on him and prayed for healing. Over the course of the next few weeks many friends and family prayed for him regularly and as time went on it was discovered that the tumor began to shrink. He has since shared his testimony with many and today he still directs our choir. God can do amazing things!!

If your interested check out some the testimony of this man through God's grace and power. He grew up in our little country church and I can remember when he was a senior in high school his behavior was anything but Christian as you'll learn by his web site. He recently visited our church and the transformation is nothing short of spectacular. God has most surely touched his heart, today guides his life, and based on the testimony he shared with us works through him to bring about change and revival in many people.

I think it was Mike who posted that we just don't hear about miracles. I think that, especially w/ medical conditions, things just get forgotten, explained away. "Freak of nature," "spontaneous remission," "misdiagnosis," etc.

Maybe its because I was saved by Pentecostals, but I think Jesus is the same now as He was back in the NT times. I think modern cultures just don't appreciate, and are often hostile towards, His work in this world.

It is a proven fact that one of GOD chosen people like the above testimony is an example of what the bible says:

25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Hi,

I think people do have faith today and that God does heal and do miracles, all the time around us. The problem is it doesn't make the news and if you're not in fellowship with others, than you might not hear about it. Also, I think Willie pointed out that in 3rd world countries, people have only God to rely on and He does many miracles there. Just think about China and how Christianity is illegal there, but that the Word is being brought inside that country. God is keeping it safe and it's spreading quickly there. That is a miracle.

Welcome!

Wonderful things are happening where they preach the Gospel. What a great ministry. Thanks for sharing this site.
I believe we could see these same thing here in the western world but because of so much skepticism there is very little freedom to our faith. If we are not putting God/Holy Spirit in a box, we put ourselves and others in a box and keep it tightly sealed.
Today if you say someone is WoF that means they must be a prosperity preacher. That's not always true but no one wants to believe that Word of Faith could just mean the faith to believe that God is the same in US as He is in Ghana.

A Whole lot God is able to do is based on someone that can recieve. It's not really about those of us that lay hands on the sick. Just because I believe God wants everyone healed, does not mean the person that is sick believes that.

Jesus could not heal many in his own home town because of their unbelief. Not that He did not want to heal them, but they did not honor him to where they would recieve of him.

Concerning the WOF and Prosperity (Thank you Lord for that Lamborghini, it's coming into my hands) Folks that are against it are mostly broke, and so full of poverty inside them that it makes them mad if a Pastor prospers.

These folks don't even practice what they complain about. As One Pastor was telling someone who was just chewing on him for his nice car that should have been sold and the money given to the Poor.

Let's Go then and sell our cars together and we both can give to the poor.

The guy walked away mad, but the Pastor would have really done that with him.

Broke and poverty minded people don't set the same standard for themselves, so we ought to not listen to them anyway.

If it's for God, it should be the best you can believe God for. Not cheap, not half done, but the best only for God.
If People use the money as God directs, then it's good. Right now our church tithes back out over 15% of all that comes in. It was 10% but Brother Moore wants to keep raising that number. What church does that? Not the ones crying about prosperity preachers, that is for sure.

Last Year Brother Copeland when doing our Branson victory Campaign was instructed to sow to all our workers all the offering that came in. He did what the Lord said do and my son got a check for 600.00 just working the parking lot team for Copeland Ministeries.

So when folks cry about Prosperity preachers they don't know what is going out to others.

Now I can name some so called WOF teachers that have not been faithful with money, but as you said, they are all not like that.

See Mark 9 - the reason why when stuff doesn't go down like we thought it should and so forth is because of our unbelief, according to the words of the Master. He called His own disciples faithless in this instance, after they had already raised the dead and healed the sick many times - IF we can believe ALL THINGS are possible. His Word is always His will, and He will ALWAYS do it in response to faith. There is real, or unfeigned faith, and plastic, or feigned, faith. As Paul said to Timothy, let US stir up our unfeigned faith.

Hello christian prince,
Welcome to CF and I hope to fellowship with you more in the days to come.
Now with that said.........I noticed it says you are not a Christian........You seem to be drawn unto the written word of God and that is AWESOME....You talked about how singing His name brought you peace.......So it would seem that our Loving creator and heavenly Father, our God the great I Am is beckoning you unto His family........

Do you believe that Jesus is the son of God and came here to be the sacrifise for your sins, so you may spend eternity with Him and NOT be separated from Him for eterity ?
You know John 3:16 does state who so ever........you being a who so ever has the greatest invite of your life now and life to come right there in that passage...
John 3:16....For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him shouold NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVER LASTING LIFE.....

With out excepting this invite God see's us as dirty filthy sin ridden rags....Not a pretty site !! However He has given each of us a way out of this and a way to be cleansed of all of our unrighteousness (sin) and to be forgiven of all our sins and trespasses........BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK HIM FOR IT.....Hint ...Jesus tells us in John....I will not ever turn any one away......Good news for you an me dont you think ?

Well I have ONE QUESTION for you christian prince......WHATS KEEPING YOU......from excepting His free Gift to us and making JESUS LORD AND SAVIOR of your life ?

Blessings
Jim....P.S...This could be YOU Brother Christian Prince....

Number one is your love walk.
God honors whom honors God. Being on the path of light, doing the will of God. Men who do the will of God shall know sound doctrine.

Number 3. Things do not go according to the will of God because unbelief

What was #2? Lol.
Yes faith worketh by love, no love, no faith working. Believing in God would certainly be a good start to honoring Him. But the top reason to see no results is unbelief. But faith all starts with hearing a word from God.

I forgot to add that folks need to send brother Mike a 10.00 love gift and then God will bless them.

I am not convinced Faith is top though, could be.

If you have Faith the grain of a mustard seed (planted, grown) you should say to this tree....... no Faith, no tree moving.

However it's sort of a given that if you waiver that you are not to expect anything from God. Folks should know that.

On the other hand putting God's things first things are added to you. Why tithing Is so important putting God first before your things first.

And you can have Faith to move mountains, but no love and mountains are not moving.

The answer lays in the state of the person.

My wife has also been wanting to speak with you if possible.
