When I go on youtube, I ask myself if the three young men who created youtube had any idea that what they created would be so successful.

With videos being uploaded, it seems that this platform is here to stay.

When I reflect on what these men have created, I realise we never know what we as individuals can do to impact the world. These young men came on the scene and created something that has revolutionise the world for young and old.

There isn't much you can't learn on YouTube....how to fix your roof, how to get to the turn signal bulb on your Dodge van, what the C scale is on a recorder, etc. And you can find decent entertainment, too. So it's good that way.

The bad part is, YouTube seems to be bent on leading people into pornography. Out of the blue a 'recommended' video for you will appear in the list to tease and tantalize that had absolutely nothing to do with what you were looking at. That's why I keep Restricted Mode 'on'. It keeps the videos of women not wearing enough clothes out of the list. Doing that does block the comments on virtually every video, but when you see how many immature 14 year olds are commenting anyway that's just another 'plus'.

Also, this obsession with self promotion is actually quite sickening. I'm tired of people trying to become rich and/or famous by posting videos of themselves of who they are and what they do. But we seem to be stupid enough to look for and follow people who do that (i.e. Kim Kardashian).
"...in the last days difficult times will come. 2For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant..." (2 Timothy 3:1-2 NASB)

YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook seem to be the vehicles through which the narcissism of modern man thrives. It's sickening.

The internet is the real change agent.
Perhaps you can remember a time when people had lives that were not about anything related to the internet.
Today, most people's lives are addicted to the cellphone, Ipad, Laptop, which is connected to the internet.
Their lives have become "to look at a screen".
Do you want to create madness in the lives of everyone?....Then take their cell, Ipad, Laptop, and the internet away from them for 3 weeks.
Tell them to "find something else to do".
Then sit back and Watch the world go into withdrawals, convulse, and flip out.
Would make a really good documentary.

kinda like when printed press ceases to be and mr ornery old geezer wont get his out of date newspaper as when its thrown its already old news and coffee is there blood they will commit suicide.

thanks I have a way to remove a problem of ours here fast like. people here wait up at 7 am in the morning on Sunday for a paper.dont you dare not have it without ads , even in the nursing homes these fight over the paper. I know, I have idiot labeled a paper bag with two papers so that each person knows it has two and to grab only one and yet they fight over that.

Youtube is how my son hopes to make his living with his gaming channel. I used it to expose our local police and informants....it backed them off ...so I like Youtube....it has indeed proven to be a game changer.

For those of us on a limited income, as I am, YouTube uses a lot of GB. A person who lived with me used my Internet with lots of access to YouTube. When that person was here, we used 18GB per month. Now that that person has gone and I use YouTube on a very limited basis, I'm down to 5GB per month.

If one has $$$ to spare, YouTube is of significant value but for those like myself, it is way too expensive to continuously use.

I love Youtube. Been on it for eleven years. As really it shows videos I love and really I have embraced it. But do not at all know how to make videos and upload them.

Your whole post was spot on, but the ability of YouTube to teach has changed a lot for countless people! Our fathers never had this resource, and I've accomplished so many home & car repairs myself that I wouldn't have been able to without seeing them demonstrated. I virtually have no other use for YouTube besides the occasional entertainment. It's just too difficult to sift through all the garbage to get to good entertainment. Searching for how to... is easier to find what I'm looking for. In that respect, it's invaluable.

As with any technology, it is neither good nor evil. It can be used or abused, and it is both. That's the human condition; not YouTube.

i love youtube, where else can you watch a three hour anthropology lecture followed by the 1994 sugar bowl.

I like youtube for the non-mainstream teachings of the church that are not taught in your normal churches. Subjects that are not approached anywhere else. There's some good Pastors on there, including but not limited to Chuck Missler, Bruce Allen, Ian Clayton, Brandon McClendon, and lots of others too. Youtube's pastors havr some of their own churches around the world, so it became apparent that...the churches overseas from us, here in the USA, are not under the same censorship that we are here. They're not afraid to talk the truth in the overseas churches.

Yeah, I likey youtube.
