Who are you going to believe ladies and gentleman. The chosen and approved Apostles of Christ in the scriptures who all baptised in the name of Jesus, or, the thousands of false Apostles who baptise in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit?

All the chosen approved Apostles in the scriptures are all one who baptise in the name of Jesus, or, believe everyone else who thinks there Apostles.

I'm going to believe Jesus who COMMANDED that the apostles baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

By rejecting Jesus' COMMAND, you are promoting heretical teachings.
Do not promote a religion or belief other than Biblical and historical Christianity. (ToS 2.2)

Let's be honest with ourselves ladies and gentleman. Jesus told his diciples, not you, not me, not he pope, to go and baptise in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. So the diciples went out and baptised in that name, that is, Jesus.

Who on earth thinks they know more and have more Authority than the chosen Apostles of Christ. When did Jesus tell anyone else to go baptise in the name of the Father and Son and spirit.

The Apostles all went right baptizing in the name of Jesus.

The false Apostles say, we know better, we are going to go right and baptise in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

That is the truth.

Please support your alleged truth with scripture.

It is scripture and it is the truth. All references and records are in the scriptures. When i get time, maybe later tonight I will get the full list and post them.

Show me one scripture when any Apostle baptised in anything other than Jesus name, and show me one scripture when Jesus told you or me to baptise in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. He didn't, he told them, them is his Apostles, and they know the truth, and as Peter said you must be baptised in the name of Jesus.

If Peter stood up and told the world you must be baptised in the name of Jesus.

And Paul baptised in the name of Jesus.

And references and records are given for a reason, like in acts where they had the Spirit and Peter said who can forbid water and commanded they be baptised in the name of Jesus.

If the true Apostles said you must be baptised in the name of Jesus then who on earth thinks they have the right to go out and start baptising people in the name of the Father of the Son and of the Holy Spirit they know nothing about. All the Apostles who had that Authority and were chosen and told to go out and baptise in the name of the Father the Son and the Spirit, baptised in the name of Jesus and commanded people be baptised in the name of Jesus.

People need to be baptised in name of Jesus. Not some unauthentic baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Scripture says Jesus, his name Jesus.

is the Son of God
is that Spirit
is the First and Last, the Almighty

okay - okay but the update is, Jesus also said 'whatsoever, whatsoever, whatsoever thou and/or you bind or loose shall be bound or loosened - twinc

I dont know about anyone else, maybe some are already, but i must be baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus, not in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit by some other so called Apostles.

People can believe whoever they want, get a sprinkle of water and/or baptised in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, but im going to believe the true, chosen, authentic Apostles who said to the world you must be submerged in the name of Jesus. Im going to believe Peter and Paul and the others.

I want Jesus to say he knows me by being baptised in in his name. Not Lord Lord but i could cast out demons and prophecy in your name all ligit I had the spirit, and he will say to me, I don't know you.

I just can't believe the true Apostles and Authority of the Church say you must be baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus and its directly in scripture and people think, no no no my church says I get baptised in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, or just believe in Jesus why watching Joyce Meyer, or go up to the alter and gets hands layed on you and your saved, because the church has been following false Apostles from the 2nd century.

Hmm, here we go again, the "Jesus Only" doctrine. Hey Dan. That was proved as a false doctrine years ago. I'll go back in my file and retrieve some info.

Peter stood up in authority and said to the masses "You must be baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus". And that was approved by God as the numbers were added.

No scripture says any names were added in the name of the Father the Son or the Spirit, or in John's baptism. In fact there is not one scripture that any Apostles baptised in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Because Jesus said to his chosen diciples to go out and baptise in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and they went out and baptised in that Name, the name Jesus, people are going to use that as an excuse to say we have authority and know more than the Apostles who only baptised and commanded baptism in the name of Jesus.

Jesus is confirming he has All Power in Heaven and on Earth. He then tells his diciples therefore go make diciples of all nations baptising them in the NAME of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The diciples knew that name, the one and only name where there is no other name where one can be saved, that name is Jesus and they baptised in the one and only name that is Jesus. And Jesus confirmed the Apostles have the Authority to teach people everything he has commanded them, his chosen Apostles. And they baptised in the name of Jesus, but no no no says the masses we dont get baptised in Jesus Christ as Apostles did and said, we get baptised in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Spirit, 3 names who's names we dont know.

Jesus come in his Father's name. What's that name. Jesus.
Jesus is the Son. What's that name. Jesus.
Jesus said the Father will send the Spirit in his name. Whats the name. Jesus.

Jesus said no one sees the Kingdom unless they are born of the water and spirit.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

"baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

"Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

I dont see the other Apostles saying hold on Peter, Jesus said baptise in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is the Christ.
The Father is not the Christ.
The Holy Spirit is not the Christ.

Jesus, the Christ, said to baptize in the NAME of the Father and in the NAME of the Son and in the NAME of the Holy Spirit.

I'm not following you at all. :confused :dunce

iakov the fool
I'm not following you.
Are you saying Jesus is the Messiah but not the son?

Jesus said one cannot enter the kingdom unless they are born of water and the Spirit. One must be submerged in water in the name of Jesus. That is born both of the water and spirit.

The thief on the cross was before Jesus gave the Spirit.

Baptised in the Father, baptised in the Son, and baptised in the Spirit is not the name. The Lord Jesus is the only name.

Everyone must be baptised fully submerged in the name of Jesus only.

Anyone who was baptised with the sprinkle of water or baptised in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit must be re-baptised corrected.

Fully submerged in the name of Jesus. There is no other way.

Sounds to me that you believe in Baptismal Regeneration, correct me if I am wrong.

I am assuming that you are saying that the thief on the cross was baptised. If so what a load of tosh.
He could not have been baptised as you believe and have quoted what baptism is.

How sad and judgemental you are stating that people need to be re-baptised because of your distorted heretical view.

Ok Dan. Lets look at two portions of Scripture. I remember, that to make a doctrine sound, it must have two or more corresponding references. they are....

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:sadKJV)

AND

1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.(KJV)

The doctrine that you are following is called by some, "Jesus Only" actually the correct name is, "Jesus Name" or "Oneness Pentecostals"

There has been, over the years, a lot of arguments over the triune names used in water baptism. To date, there is no authority which is correct. In Jesus' Name, or in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. This is what an early theologian had to say....Eusebius of Caesarea, also known as Eusebius Pamphili. He was born around 270 a.d., and died around 340 a.d. He lived in times of gross spiritual darkness, was a Trinitarian, and in later life assisted in the preparation of the Nicene Creed.

During the first 2 to 3 Centuries there was persecution directed at the Church of Christ Jesus and early manuscripts were burned and destroyed. Eusebius was able to collect.... Till about 40 years of age he lived in great intimacy with the martyr Pamphilus, a learned and devout man of Caesarea, and founder of an extensive library there, from which Eusebius derived his vast store of learning."

As a result of obtaining early manuscripts, he was able to duplicate many of them which the Church Fathers were very excited. They leaned towards the Trinity interpretation of Matthew 28:19 and 1 John 5:7&8.

At best, either phrase is acceptable in Baptisms. Although, a Denomination should not be established on either one. Personally, the Baptist form is.... the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.(KJV)

I believe that going by the King James translation is closer to the original than all others. Case closed!

Joh 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
Joh 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

All 4 Gospels tell of the baptism of Jesus.. ( personally I like the idea of dunking ) I see zero place in Scripture where is says Jesus was dunked.. going to the river implies dunking but it does not say it.. we can have an educated guess but the Scripture do not say...

Hi Wrigley,
What's Batptismal Regeneration?

I'm not following you.
Are you saying Jesus is the Messiah but not the son?
I think Jim didn't understand you.

Christ is the Greek for Messiah.
Messiah and Christ are titles, not names, as you said.
Jesus is a name.
So Christ Jesus is both His title followed by His name.

Hi Wrigley,
What's Batptismal Regeneration?
Baptismal regeneration is the belief that baptism is necessary for salvation, or, more precisely, that regeneration does not occur until a person is water baptized.

baptismal regeneration typically have a four-part formula for how salvation is received. They believe that a person must believe, repent, confess, and be baptized in order to be saved.

The view is that faith, repentance, confession, and baptism are “works of obedience,” things a person must do before God grants salvation.

Jesus is confirming he has All Power in Heaven and on Earth. I dont see the other Apostles saying hold on Peter, Jesus said baptise in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Kiwidan,
I've tried twice to explain this to you. This will be the last time.

There is a FORM by which one must be baptized. That FORM is the one that Jesus Himself gave us.
Mathew 28:19 He said to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
I would tend to believe Jesus!

In your post no. 181 you say:

Who are you going to believe ladies and gentleman. The chosen and approved Apostles of Christ in the scriptures who all baptised in the name of Jesus, or, the thousands of false Apostles who baptise in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit?

How could you say that, when it's JESUS who says to baptize in the name of the 3 of the Trinity, NOT the "thousands of false apostles"?

Jesus left us with two sacraments: Baptism and marriage. What is a sacrament?
A visible sign of God's love for us. We give worship to God and build up the Body of Christ.
A sacramental right is not supposed to be modified. It is given of §God and His Word to follow as HE meant it to be followed.

Christ is at work in the sacraments we receive. It is HE who baptizes.

There was the baptism of John: That of repentance and preparation for the Christ.
There is the baptism of Jesus: The baptism of fire and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit descends on us as He did when Jesus Himself was baptized by John.

The baptism of Jesus transforms us into the likeness of Christ. We are adopted and made partakers of the Divine nature. THIS IS THE BAPTISM OF JESUS which differs from the baptism of John.

This explains the TYPE of baptism. That of John or that of Jesus.

THE FORM OF BAPTISM is a wholly different matter.
For the FORM, we must follow what Jesus instructed.

When two persons get married, when are they married? When the minister proclaims: I now pronounce you husband and wife. There are words said during this ceremony that are the FORM to be followed. I now pronounce you husband and wife are words of the FORM that is to be carried out if a marriage is to be valid.

So the FORM for baptism is as Jesus instructed:
I baptize you in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

There is a difference between the TYPE of baptism
and the FORM of baptism.

I believe you are getting these two things mixed up.
We must follow the FORM that Jesus left to us in Mathew 28:19
