I wish the mod would close this down.
And any future nasty threads.
I thought about what to say here all day, and I know I'm still gonna botch it. Oh, well. Here it goes...

I'm not going to say what someone should and shouldn't be offended by. Certainly, not you. You have a good head on your shoulders. Somewhere there is a line between being sensitive to others and walking on egg shells. Honestly, if you pooled up all the hilarity and hijinks on CFnet over the years, I think you'd see a lot of this banter.

I can only speak for myself and say I appreciate the levity. Come on. If anyone saw that video randomly on YouTube, you'd think the same thing. She looks out of place on stage with that guitar!

Throwing names of members we recognize on the poll made it even funner. But that's just me. The only thing I'll suggest is if you see a post or thread you think is inappropriate, report it or PM a mod. Maybe another perspective will confirm your suspicion or not.

Anyway, my vote has gotta be with Allen. It just has to be! :lol

Hi Mike,
I better answer you and make how I feel very clear to all.

I like Jethro and he knows I do. I didn't take this thread personally. I know that he knows that I don't look like the guitarist, and even if I did --- so what?

I like levity and lightness as much as many here. Those who know me know that I've been on many threads throughout the year that are very funny and light and I've had a lot of fun with many posters. One of them being Jethro Bodine.

But something has changed recently. I don't know what... But he's begun to go a little overboard. Not even necessarily with this thread, but with others. Bodily functions have been mentioned. This is not very nice.
I'm just saying that joking should be done in a nice way - not an insulting or nasty way.

It kind of hurts my feelings when I see him saying crude things. If I didn't like him, my feelings would not be hurt. I thought I would mention it publicly to try something different. I'm sorry if I made a mistake and I apologize to all. I do ask that he consider what he's posting.

You need to find those posts so we know what you're talking about. There is a search feature in this forum that will make that easy to do.

There is more than one.
Here is one:
The Lounge
Easter Basket
Posts 11 to 14 (approx)

Not nice to refer to things that go on in the restroom.
Not nice to refer to a persons mental capacity - even if kidding around.
Not nice to post pictures so ugly that I've had to ask you to remove it.
Other stuff....

Do you really want to stir the muddy waters??
Just stop it for goodness sake.
So we could go back to having some real fun like we used to.

Wondering, besides all the fun in this thread, you've made this an opportunity to consider what we say and how we say it. That's not a problem at all. As for the posts in the Easter Basket thread, if I hadn't witnessed Rollo/Allen and Jethro hammer out that long "Where's Ralph" thread and joke around at each other's expense, I might have taken it like you did. Besides Where's Ralph, there were many other smaller threads they joked around in. When I saw that, I thought, "Wow. Jethro picked it up a level. There goes Jethro being Jethro!". I waited for Allen's return volley, but the thread got shut down.

I might have misjudged that thread, and maybe you did. They know best. I meant what I said, though. There's a fine line that's hard to determine sometimes. When do we lighten up to avoid offending people, and when do determine that the reader needs to lighten up? I've seen posts that I thought were very callous for a Christian. When I called them on it, they defended their actions by saying people shouldn't be so sensitive. It's often not so black and white, and each person has their own threshold for pain.

If you ask me whether you were justified for your complaint or if you were ever-sensitive, I'd say... Yes to both. :yes
