Are guns now part of our worship at church?

Should all churches be armed with guns?

My pastor noted at last nights' service of only about 40 people that there were at least 4 people carrying guns, our doors were locked, and so we had nothing to worry about.
My first response was shock, but then I realized where I was.
Inside an imperfect church.
So is this what our Christianity has come to?
Our guns vs. theirs?

Do you lock your car at church?
I have left church two cone out and have my truck keyed with two flat tires. I had to purchase one tire then and there and drive on the other too home.broad daylight this waa done. Cost me 200 bucks

It really depends on who is carrying. We have a Deputy of the Sherriff's office who is a member of our congregation. Now, even though I have never seen it, I am pretty confident in stating that he carries, even while at church. He looks at as his duty to protect the congregation to the extent he can, so he generally will sit in the last row.

Other people who could carry would be people who are very familiar with firearms and use them on a regular basis, whether hunting, or going to the range.

We do live in a fallen world and are allowed by God to defend ourselves, and others, if the situation calls for it.

The Bible is full of verses from cover to cover that tell us to trust in God instead of trusting in man.
When we arm our churches with gunners, are we trusting in God or trusting in man?

I would say that we are able to use the things God has afforded us. Defending ourselves using any tools that are available to us would fall under that.

Well. I lock my house when I leave and am in the habit of taking my valuables with me these past few months--because my home actually was a target for thieves multiple times this year. Am I not trusting God enough?

So we have guns and we have doctors and we have everything we need.
When do we depend on God?
And for what?

What makes you think carrying around your valuables is a safe thing to do?
Do you carry a gun or other weapon as well?

Mainly because I know who the thieves are and since they used to rent from us they know our routine and are more likely to take things from my home when I'm not there. What I take with me is mainly electronics like my tablet, kindle, and DS anyways. I had some of those stolen last year and the only reason items like my kindle was replaced was due to the kindness of friends.

Oh, I totally misunderstood you.
Sorry.

It's going to get worse.
I think trusting in God means something different from how you're describing it.

I voted No, btw.

Jesus came to set up a spiritual kingdom. He said He would always be with us and, in fact, He sent the holy Spirit to be our help. Not to be our very own private policeman.

Even though we're in the kingdom, we're still in the world and we need to protect ourselves from the evil in this world.

I'll never have a gun, but if someone had one in TX and had shot the killer, many would still be alive today...or not hurt.

What a sad day when we feel the church doors need to be locked.

When Joshua went into the promised Land, he trusted that God would help him...but God
Didn't come down to earth to fight For him. Joshua had to do that part.

its what the world has come to and us Christians live in it
in the past one did not need a gun for protection at church
in the past we did not lock our doors of our house when we left
our values have not changed we have to adapt to the world to stay safe
