23. "THE SONS OF GOD" IN GEN. 6:2, 4.

It is only by the Divine specific act of creation that any created being can be called "a son of God". For that which is "born of the flesh is flesh". God is spirit, and that which is "born of the Spirit is spirit" (John 3:6). Hence Adam is called a "son of God" in Luke 3:38. Those "in Christ" having "the new nature" which is by the direct creation of God (2Cor. 5:17. Eph. 2:10) can be, and are called "sons of God" (John 1:13. Rom. 8:14, 15. 1John 3:1). (*1)

This is why angels are called "sons of God" in every other place where the expression is used in the Old Testament. Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7. Ps. 29:1; 89:6. Dan. 3:25 (no art.). (*2) We have no authority or right to take the expression in Gen. 6:2, 4 in any other sense. Moreover, in Gen. 6:2 the Sept. renders it "angels".

Angels are called "spirits" (Ps. 104:4. Heb. 1:7, 14), for spirits are created by God.

That there was a fall of the angels is certain from Jude 6.

The nature of their fall is clearly stated in the same verse. They left their own oijkhthvrion (oiketerion). This word occurs only in 2Cor. 5:2 and Jude 6, where it is used of the spiritual (or resurrection) body.

The nature of their sin is stated to be "in like manner" to that of the subsequent sins of Sodom and Gomorrha, Jude 7.

The time of their fall is given as having taken place "in the days of Noah" (1Pet. 3:20. 2Pet. 2:7), though there may have been a prior fall which caused the end of "the world that then was" (Gen. 1:1, 2. 2Pet. 3:6).

For this sin they are "reserved unto judgment", 2Pet. 2:4, and are "in prison", 1Pet. 3:19.

Their progeny, called Nephilim (translated "giants"), were monsters of iniquity; and, being superhuman in size and character, had to be destroyed (see Ap. 25). This was the one and only object of the Flood.

Only Noah and his family had preserved their pedigree pure from Adam (Gen. 6:9, see note). All the rest had become "corrupt" (shachath) destroyed [as Adamites]. the only remedy was to destroy it (de facto), as it had become destroyed (de jure). (It is the same word in v. 17 as in vv. 11, 12.) See further under Ap. 25 on the Nephilim.

This irruption of fallen angels was Satan's first attempt to prevent the coming of the Seed of the woman foretold in gen. 3:15. If this could be accomplished, God's Word would have failed, and his own doom would be averted.

As soon as it was made known that the Seed of the woman was to come through ABRAHAM, there must have been another irruption, as recorded in Gen. 6:4, "and also after that" (i.e. after the days of Noah, more than 500 years after the first irruption). The aim of the enemy was to occupy Canaan in advance of Abraham, and so to contest its occupation by his seed. For, when Abraham entered Canaan, we read (Gen. 12:6) "the Canaanite was then (i.e. already) in the land."

In the same chapter (Gen. 12:10-20) we see Satan's next attempt to interfere with Abraham's seed, and frustrate the purpose of God that it should be in "Isaac". This attempt was repeated in 20:1-18.

This great conflict may be seen throughout the Bible, and it forms a great and important subject of Biblical study. In each case the human instrument had his own personal interest to serve, while Satan had his own great object in view. Hence God had, in each case, to interfere and avert the evil and the danger, of which his servants and people were wholly ignorant. The following assaults of the great Enemy stand out prominently :--

The destruction of the chosen family by famine, Gen. 50:20.

The destruction of the male line in Israel, Ex. 1:10, 15, &c. Cp. Ex. 2:5. Heb. 11:23.

The destruction of the whole nation in Pharaoh's pursuit, Ex. 14.

After David's line was singled out (2Sam. 7), that was the next selected for assault. Satan's first assault was in the union of Jehoram and Athaliah by Jehoshaphat, notwithstanding 2Chron. 17:1. Jehoram killed off all his brothers (2Chron. 21:4).

The Arabians slew all his children, except Ahaziah (2Chron. 21:17; 22:1).

When Ahaziah died, Athaliah killed "all the seed royal" (2Chron. 22:10). the babe Joash alone was rescued; and, for six years, the faithfulness of Jehovah's word was at stake (2Chron. 23:3).

Hezekiah was childless, when a double assault was made by the King of Assyria and the King of Terrors (Isa. 36:1; 38:1). God's faithfulness was appealed to and relied on (Ps. 136).

In Captivity, Haman was used to attempt the destruction of the whole nation (Est. 3:6, 12, 13. Cp. 6:1).

Joseph's fear was worked on (Matt. 1:18-20). Notwithstanding the fact that he was "a just man", and kept the Law, he did not wish to have Mary stoned to death (Deut. 24:1); hence Joseph determined to divorce her. But God intervened : "Fear not".

Herod sought the young Child's life (Matt. 2).

At the Temptation, "Cast Thyself down" was Satan's temptation.

At Nazareth, again (Luke 4), there was another attempt to cast Him down and destroy Him.

The two storms on the Lake were other attempts.

At length the cross was reached, and the sepulcher closed; the watch set; and the stone sealed. But "God raised Him from the dead." And now, like another Joash, He is seated and expecting (Heb. 10:12, 13), hidden in the house of God on high; and the members of "the one body" are hidden there "in Him" (Col. 3:1-3), like another Jehoshaba; and going forth to witness of His coming, like another Jehoiada (2Chron. 23:3).

The irruption of "the fallen angels" ("sons of God") was the first attempt; and was directed against the whole human race.

When Abraham was called, then he and his seed were attacked.

When David was enthroned, then the royal line were attacked.

And when "the Seed of the woman" Himself came, then the storm burst upon Him.

(*1) The word "offspring" in Acts 17:28 is quite different. It is gevnos (genos), which means merely kin or kind, our genus as being originated by God.
(*2) In Hos. 1:10, it is not beni-ha-Elohim, as here, but beni-el-chai.

The sons of God in Job were clearly Jobs sons assembled at one anothers house to appointed and to observe feast days and their sisters were always invited . Satan would go in .. Satan had been kicked out and thrown down from heaven way before then with no access ever again to heaven .. He will enter our assemblies today also if we allow and or unaware ..

Very BIG difference, satan will appear just as he did in the Garden

God will turn you over to satan but will not turn you into satan .. Satan can lie, oppress or possess you, the anti-Christ will be possessed, become his possession and he will go to hell as a man while satan briefly laughs .. We get the last laugh on both of them ..

We better keep our eyes open in these days

If we keep our eyes open to the things of the world and the things of the flesh; then what have we have we gained in the kingdom? If we are looking after the things of this world, then are we seeking after the Spirit?

Perhaps we would be better to close our eyes in these days and walk by faith?

Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Sa'-tan, which deceived the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

If you were ever confused who Satan is, John calls him by the names he used while playing his different roles on earth. The "dragon" is Satan's role in that first earth age, when one third of all of God's children followed him. Satan's evil spirit is allowed on earth now, along with his demons. However, you haven't seen Satan in person yet. Satan and his angels, both physically and bodily, will come to earth just as they did in Genesis 6.

When Satan is cast out it will be as it was in the days of Noah. This is what Jesus said in Matthew 24:37: "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."Mankind will be mixing with the angels, and the women even marrying them just as was going on in Noah's day before the flood. Sodomy will be common, and all forms of filth will be made public, and accepted and considered normal. The world and the kenite influence is preparing us, and our mind to accept all forms of filth in sex and marriage as being natural; and to consider their perversion as being of God.

All I said was we should keep our eyes open

But go ahead and do what you will, I'm sure everything will be OK

Actually Satan still has access to the throne God as the war between him and Michael will take place during the seventh trumpet sounding, Rev 12:7-12. Since Satan is known as the god of this world and the prince of the powers of the air he has access to the throne of God to accuse the saints of God as Jesus makes intercession for them. Satan has no authority in heaven as he lost that privilege, but was cut down to earth and through his hatred and anger of God now uses his deceit to separate man from God by stealing the word of God from them thus stealing their faith in God.

Satan will work through the son of perdition (false prophet) who is another antichrist as he will display lying signs and wonders that will deceive many causing them to take the mark of this Luciferian economic, political and religious power as many will bow down to it.

Satan is not a person that we will see face to face as he is a created spirit like all the angels that has no gender or substance as in flesh and blood. Satan being the total opposite of God will work through those who are his own just like God works through those who are His own. When Satan was in the garden he worked through the serpent, but was not the serpent.

Yes, we need to keep our eyes opened to the signs Jesus told us to watch for so we are not deceived by the lying signs and wonders of all these false prophets that are in the world teach a deceptive twisted gospel. We need not fear that which has to come first before Christ returns, but we are to be about our Fathers business taking the gospel out to a world that needs to hear.

Spirits (angels) have no substance or gender like that of humans(Matthew 22:30) and are innumerable (Hebrews 12:22). They are incarnate in human form at times (Genesis 18:2-8) for the purpose of ministry.

This site below might help you understand it better.

Were we not made in God's image?

Genesis 1:26 "And God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

God set out to make man exactly the way he is. Man was then created to look like the exact image of God, and his sons; the angels. If you ever wondered what an angel form looks like? Then look into a mirror, for we are created in their image.

What form did God have when He went pass Mosses?

Exodus 33:18 "And he said, "I beseech thee, shew me Thy glory."

Moses wanted to see God's glory with his own eyes. Moses had seen all the miracles from the burning bush at the very start, to all the plagues of Egypt, the parting of the Red sea, the water from the rock, and the manna and quail that God fed them with daily, yet Moses wanted one more glimpse at God's glory. Now that the people have proven that they can't be trusted, Moses has to know that God is with him, and can be counted upon in the future.

Exodus 33:19 "And He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy."

This is a prophecy leading to the time of Christ; if you repent and love the Lord, God will love and show mercy; and those that are stiff-necked and will not follow the Lord and go their own way, He will not show mercy to. It is up to God who will have His mercy and who will not. If you think that you can mess around with His scriptures and play with the heathen traditions and doctrines that go against His Word, you will not find mercy with God. God can read your mind, and He knows your very thoughts. He knows if your love is true and genuine or a fake.

Exodus 33:20 "And He said, "Thou canst not see My face: for there shall no man see Me, and live."

So stop and ask yourself why no man can see God and live? Paul told you the reason in I Corinthians 15:50.

I Corinthians 15:50 "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption."

This is a mystery that had not been talked about prior to this time. "Flesh and blood" are "corruption", bodies that age and die: while "incorruption" are bodies as the angels have, that don't age, never get sick and have the ability to remember into that first earth age, and see the things of heaven completely. God is in the kingdom of heaven: heaven is where God and his children are after death of these physical flesh and blood bodies. God is in a different dimension than these flesh and blood corruptible bodies are in. There is no way for flesh man to view into that other dimension, and as long as your flesh heart is pumping that blood to your flesh body, you will stay and reside in this realm or dimension. We know you have to die to see Him, However Jesus told us that when you have seen the Son you have seen the Father also.

Exodus 33:21 "And the Lord said, "Behold, there is a place by Me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:"

Moses is about to get a peek into that other dimension of God heaven.

Exodus 33:22 "And it shall come to pass, while My glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with My hand while I pass by:"

So what Rock is this that God will cover or hid Moses in? That Rock that we stand on is Jesus the Christ, that came in the flesh, died on the cross, and was in the tomb for three days. He came out of the tomb and ascended on the fortieth day into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. If you are in Christ, you are standing on that Rock even to this day, in these end times. That Rock is Jesus Christ. It is on Jesus Christ, the church of God is built, and that Rock and church will withstand any weather that comes against it. Jesus Christ is our foundation to happiness, and to eternal life. If you are standing on the Rock, then you must make a stand for the Rock. Are you standing on that Rock.

We are created in His image which means we were created in the likeness of Gods righteousness and holiness, Ephesians 4:24. God is spirit and has no physical body, John 4:24. This is why He always appeared in a pillar of smoke, a burning bush and even an Ass to speak to His people.

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruptible.

This is why we will be changed from this mortal to immortal and this corruptible changed to incorruptible as we are given new glorified bodies when Christ returns, but yet we will not know what we will be, but will be like Christ in His glorified body, 1 Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 John 3:2, 3.

Angels are essentially ministering spirits, Hebrews 1:14 and do not have physical bodies like humans. Jesus declared that a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have, Luke 24:37-39. Angels have no gender, Matthew 22:30, and are innumerable, Hebrews 12:22. They can take on human form at times, Genesis 18:2-8, for the purpose of ministry.

This is speaking of Gods shekinah glory that no man can look upon as it is the brightness of God that would be like looking directly into the sun. This is why God hid Moses in the cliff as He passed by him.

It's indicative of Gods presence in nature, Psalms 18:7-15, in the exodus from Egypt, Exodus 13:21, 22, at Sinai, Exodus24:16-18, in the tabernacle, Exodus 40:34-38, upon the mercy seat, Exodus 25:22, in the wilderness, numbers 9:15-23; 10:11-36, and in the Temple, 2 Chronicles 7:1-3.
Gods glory is also accompanied by angels, cloud, fire and earthquakes through out the OT and illustrated by Christ in the NT.

What signs do you look for?
The signs Jesus told us to look for in Matthew 24:4-15 as these are the beginning of sorrows even on a greater scale today and up to the time when the sign of the son of perdition being the last antichrist takes his seat on the throne that is even now being set up on the Temple Mount which is the abomination of desolation Daniel prophesied that would come.

So you are looking at Sin for signs of the coming of Christ?

So you are looking at Sin for signs of the coming of Christ?

In a sense yes or at least the greater part of the greatest end time abomination that will happen whether in our life time or not that will come before Christ returns. It's because of sin running rampant like in the days of Noah before the flood that the same will be when Christ returns. Instead of a flood it will be Gods final judgement on sinful man.

Matthew 24: 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The reason I ask, is because Paul said the Christ would appear the second without sin unto salvation. So if we are looking for the return of Christ, why would we look for sin?

It is reba as they were lovers of self and the world was their god just as it has always been and will be until Christ returns and comes on them as a thief in the night for they will enjoy the deceitful pleasures of the beast as they take its mark not knowing they are sealing their fate for eternity.
