I don't believe a single one of the nephillim were 10-12 feet.
Prove it!
Amos 2:9 ? Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.

"Calocedrus decurrens, Incense Cedar: also known as Libocedrus decurrens. An evergreen forest tree, which will reach a height of from 80 to 150 feet." Source

"The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown."- Genesis 6:4

Look up golaith, and multiply 9 times 21 inches.189 inches. Divide by 12 and its over 12 feet
If my memory is right on that verse.let's says it 18,times 9 and that's still over 12 feet.

But i looked it up ,he was 10 and feet tall using the Egyptian cubit and I didn't count the span see 1 Samuel 17

Enoch says that the Lord Will return with a million angels to convict men, jude says the Lord will judge with thousands of His saints.which is in the bible?

Here we have three men that walked with God saying the same thing. If you notice, Enoch prophesied of this first way before the flood of Noah's day and confirmation was made by Gods Spirit through Jude and John. Not everything that has ever been written by those of God are contained in the Bible as even the writings of Stephen are not included. Just because it is not in the Bible does not mean it is of any less value to our Spiritual knowledge.

Enoch 1.9 And behold! He comes with ten thousand Holy Ones; to execute judgment upon them and to destroy the impious, and to contend with all flesh concerning everything that the sinners and the impious have done and wrought against Him.

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

How could he write if writing had yet to be invented?
So, when was writing invented? I'm sure they had their own language and way of communicating in some form of writing especially when Jude quoted Enoch. Don't think Jude was alive way back then so he would have to have read it.

That Enoch and jude translation, what version ,Enoch would be in Hebrew and jude in koine greek .The Hebrew for Holy One is odd in that implies God.

The link Eugene implies Angels.jude and the early church didn't use the mss ,nor dead sea scrolls as those are a sect essene stuff but the greek lxx.

The apochrypha, which quotes this book did include yet the rcc,the orthodox,Russian, greek don't include and it was all part of the lxx.

Ever heard of the talmud, midrash, you can't ignore the oral law.i know a messanic jew who doesn't and quotes sections and Ramban .ties it in.

The sages say in the midrash when the messiah was to come he would pass oit bread.

Jesus I am the bread of life.

Why aren't Enoch's books in the bible?

For what's it's worth...

The book of Enoch mentions Noah...This 13 min video which give several reason why starts off by saying Enoch was already taken (Gen 5:24) and couldn't have known Noah to the point Noah was mentioned if Enoch wrote the book.

From the book of Enoch.
1Then said the Most High, the Holy and Great One spake, and sent Uriel to the son of Lamech, 2and said to him: 'Go to Noah and tell him in my name "Hide thyself!" and reveal to him the end that is approaching: that the whole earth will be destroyed, and a deluge is about to come 3upon the whole earth, and will destroy all that is on it. ref

Currently I find I can't be dogmatic on any position concerning Enoch....and file it in the "interesting" category.

How many books were written about Enoch by the time Jude came around?
Which Enoch is he talking about?
Who actually wrote the book.
One thing we know for sure.
Enoch didn't write it.
He took off with God some where.

Not to say you're right or wrong..but what are we to make of the giant skeletons we find?
do they have nephillim imprinted on them?
Besides, Jude said the fallen angels are being held in the abyss until the end.
So they had nothing to do with it.
Also, in comparison, people today can call people like Trump as being giants.
Who's to say the comparison is not the same?

What does the Talmud or the Midrash have to do with the question when was writing invented?

Because the midrash is older then the new testement, and we'll how did The Egyptian midwifes know about the isrealites, when until Moses there Was No written Genesis just the stories passed. GOD told Moses to write the Torah. He didn't recieve the Genesis account on a tablet.Could it be that Enochs prophecy was passed that way? I believe it and Job who also predated Moses and isreal also was recorded by Moses.

If there was a writing of any book.prior to Moses penning them it would have been use that book or quoted as jasher is quoted In Judges, and elsewhere.the book of life spoken by Moses.that's a thread in itself who told Moses of it? It's not mentioned .

Our bible is very.much Hebrew .Enoch is mentioned to have partook in the first rosh hoshanna.ushered In new life because he was a tzaddik. They say.interesting view

Ironic bashed for using a non cannon oral ,and recorded now book in a thread about using a non cannonical book.accepted by and used by the essenes who also likeky used the midrash!

This is for Cygnus also
Never write off something you do not understand. Enoch wrote his book around the 2nd century which I am sure Noah had it when he entered the ark as parts of it were found among the dead sea scrolls. Noah knew his great grandfather Enoch very well as he spent much time with him growing up before Enoch died or as it says God took him.

Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Genesis 5:21-32
Enoch was 65 when his son Methuselah was born and lived to be 365 years.
Methuselah was 187 when he had Lamech. This would make Enoch 252
Lamech was 182 when he had Noah. This would make Enoch 317 so Noah would have known his Great Grandfather and spent time with him.

If you are interested at all here are a couple sites with the first one being the book of Enoch in English

Generally speaking, it is assumed Enoch lived prior to 3000 BC
It is thought that actually writing first took place in Iraq around 3000 BC
But the ones who say this about writing also say man was around 25,000 years ago
So truthfully, we don't know.

There were no Hebrews, Israelite's, Jews, Greeks or even any Synagogues in the days of Enoch before the flood as the term Hebrew was never mentioned before Abraham was called one in Genesis 14:13. The fact that Enoch is mentioned and also quoted in the Torah and in the NT shows that he wrote this book which would have been around the 2nd century. Check out the two websites I posted as I am only young yet in my research.

God didn't want it in his Bible, period.

Fact, Enoch lived in the 2nd century being the seventh from Adam and Great Grandfather of Noah. I already did the math in post #35. Thoughts are just that, thoughts without facts. No one could ever know how old the earth is or even when Adam was created except he was created in the first century of man.

God didn't want it in his Bible, period.
Then why was he even mention in the Bible if God didn't want him in it. If people would have understood his prophecies like we do today there would have been more than eight people who entered the ark or possibly there would have been no need of the flood at all.
