Church: Roman Catholic
Background: raised nominally Catholic, was baptist General Conference for 8 yrs or so, graduated from Bethel College (now Bethel University) in MN, majored in Biblical Studies, Baptist youth pastor in Indianapolis, IN, genuine conversation to Catholicism 1 1/2 yrs after graduating from College.

Now I should have, but didn't, read the byrules and such before joining. If Catholics aren't allowed here then I'll leave or you can cancel my membership and I won't hold it against you. Why am i here? I wanted a good Protestant response to the question I posed in the Apologetics forum regarding divorce. I had been thinking about the question lately and I wanted your perspective. Do I like apologetics, yes. But I didn't join looking to create problems or arguments.

Don't worry, I don't think that you have anything to worry about. :) I do believe that you're allowed to be a Catholic and state that you are, you're just not allowed to declare it as true and promote it. I'm somebody who believes very firmly that salvation is accomplished through Jesus Christ's death on the cross and resurrection and that God can save anybody He wants to not just Christians because of it. I just can't promote that by getting others to believe it as well. So welcome gtrudeau and welcome to CF and God bless you in Jesus' name. :hug

Join the club :lolwe all are sinners. Luckily we all do have a savior that loves us very much. I'm sure that you will fit right in here :hug

hi. I"m glad you're here. I regard RCC-ers as fellow Christians (I think that's how most Protestants feel...), so there's that, of course. Also...we don't have many Catholics 'round here, so each well-informed, solid Catholic is a real asset. Welcome to CFnet. :)

Hi GT,
I used to be Catholic and if you care to quickly repeat the question, we could discuss it. I know the doctrine there.

I'd like to welcome you to the forum. You could be Catholic because Catholics are Christian, we just cannot impose our beliefs on each other. You'll see as you go along. In Hot Topics we discussed purgatory one time, just to give you an example.

Anyway, I think you'll like it here. It's a wll-run forum. I love everyone who loves our Lord. I live in Italy and all I have around me is the CC! I know many priests too, and a few on a personal level and have plenty of access to them personally. So, we could have some nice conversations.

Blessings

Welcome gtrudeau in the blessed name of Jesus. I too came from Catholicism, love its people, and consider them my brethren in Christ. I do hope you find this a place to grow in your faith, and have fellowship with the ONE body of Christ. May God richly bless your time here to His glory. :wave2

Welcome to the forums! Some do not believe Catholics are Christians and not saved. I for one do not believe this and I’m sure there are those who don’t hold to that assumption. I think you will make a great assest to this forum. God bless you.

Oh and one more thing, Eugene's got it in his mind that he is absolutely hysterical in everything he says and does so just please humor him and play along would ya? :lol (I'm just kidding by the way, he is actually very funny and extremely sweet and nice too. He's helped my faith grow. :cross) But yeah if you're anything like me, you're going to love it here. I'm actually fearing that I might have to start a CF support group right now because of it. :rofl2

Welcome aboard.

I Will drift over to the divorce thread.

When I get started you will probably wonder what planet I am from. Mississippi rednecks (my neighbors) wonder where I am from.

Again welcome
