Many people don't realize there's Torah observant Jews in Israel as well as secular people who enjoy a good nightlife. I've never been to Israel but watching the on line cameras as well as videos I can see there's more to it than pious people at the western wall. So, the Sabbath argument is the same that businesses here in the USA have when people want to take off for the Sabbath-- they are afraid of losing business, similar to that woman who said she could only sell to make her income on the Sabbath (despite wanting to "keep" it). The thing is that if people had the faith to observe Sabbath, then the Lord would make them prosperous enough other days to make up for the perceived loss. That's the thing, tho. It takes faith but the workings of the Law is by the flesh. And since most business mentality (both big and small) is going to hell in a hand basket and will eventually perish along with their owners and families, their ignorance drags the rest down who would rather obey. One needs the Spirit of the Lord to obey (aka fruit of the Spirit) vs works of the Law by the flesh. Both the works and fruits are the same -- same criteria (e.g. Sabbath keeping). The difference is the power behind those acts.

Israel seems to be heading toward becoming country ran by people much like the pharisees.Ultra orthodox is growing in numbers and power.
The laws are changing to suit the demands of ultra orthodox.

Yes, and so is USA, Britain, I heard Italy and so forth are moving in this direction as a backlash against the PC-ness and New World Order stuff. Ironically, this "back to tradition" will be the undoing of everything and the time of the end. As for Israel, they have to move that direction to get enough motivation to rebuild the temple. Likewise, we need "Trump-ness" to do things like move the embassy there. It will take one false Messiah to take advantage of the whole situation and then all those things in the Bible will come to pass. I am not judging the rightness/wrongness of all that's going on as much as seeing the pieces fall together. It's possible to fight for the right cause and even what the Lord said was the truth and yet be on the side of error. It does not work by the power of the flesh no matter how well-intentioned.

God gave Israel 490 years to repent. They were set free from Babylon when the Medes and Persian conquered Babylon (Chaldeans) around 538 B.C. They were allowed back in the land and to rebuild the city of Jerusalem, however, they still did not repent for their sin of idol worshipping and they continued to receive punishment from God as the kingdom was taken away and eventually taken over by the Roman Empire. Malachi Chapter 1-4. This still continues today as God is still waiting, but His longsuffering and patience will soon come to an end, Zechariah 14:1, 2; Luke 21:20 and Rev 16:16.
