1 This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:

2 In the last days the mountain of the Lord's temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.

3 Many peoples will come and say, "come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

4 He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

5 Come, O house of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord.

Lets just talk about and examine these few verses. Maybe there isn't much here.. Maybe its a Gold mine. Lets just give it a try :)

Lots of Isaiah is a goldmine, lol :biggrin

I do not know Isaiah that well to be honest. I'll have to think on this one and do some research. But my gut instinct is that it is talking about the last days, i.e. post OT, although there's probably some OT Israel application in there too.

That sounds pretty good, Lets keep the ideas flowing :)

Maybe this is some description of what may be going on during the 1,000 year reign?

That is a really good assesment. I also saw a program on television a couple days after I read & posted this where this is shown. I think you are right. That is probably what we are looking at.

The description in the verse doesn't seem to fit the general mindset of today to me.
Is it because of the phrase "in the last days"?

I'm actually not trying to argue. More curious as to what you mean than anything.:chin

In regards to the 1000 year reign being now, I'm no end times expert, but a look at this section in Revelation 20, reading it from the point of view of someone (me) who believes in Preservation of the Saints, I come to the conclusion that it is now, where the Church (body of Christ, not necessarily the institution) cannot be ripped from God by Satan. Tempted, yes, but not ripped. Yes, I believe in predestination.

But there are hugely differing views on things like these. Just take a look in the end times forum, lol :o
