Terms of Service – Revised Nov, 11, 2014

Section 1: General Information and Introduction

1.1: We wish ChristianForums.net (CF.net or CF) to be a place of fruitful discussions, debates and fellowship. The below listed Terms of Service (ToS) has been developed over a period of many years to help encourage this. The ToS should serve as a guide for members on how to act within this community, and to inform them on various disciplinary protocols. The CF Staff Team (moderators, administrators and site owner) use the ToS as the basis for how they run the community. It is hoped that the ToS will ensure that members are treated fairly and given the best chance to remain as members before any action is required. Thank you for your cooperation.

1.2: While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the Staff Team and agree that Staff and Site Owner will be held harmless for such things.

1.3: If you feel that any action taken was unfair, it can be appealed. To appeal an action taken against you by CF.net staff, you are advised to start a new thread in the ‘Talk With the Staff’ forum area. Threads in this forum are viewable only by the person initiating the thread and CF.net staff. In this private venue, anyone on the CF.net staff may respond, and the OP can address his/her concerns with regard to the action taken. This forum is primarily intended for appeals to actions by CF.net staff. TWTS area may also be used, according to Staff discretion, for other expedient purpose of communication. If a member agrees or disagrees with a Moderator's decision, they are not to make their opinion public.

1.4: Christianforums.net reserves the right to respond to the violation of any of the ToS with any of the responses available to our Leadership at its sole discretion. Furthermore, any action taken against offenders and their status within the community is considered private and confidential and will not be shared with the public. Christianforums.net also reserves the right to remove any content which is considered to be disruptive to the Community, at the sole discretion of christianforums.net Leadership.

The Staff of christianforums.net are authorized to use all available actions in dealing with violations to these rules. These actions include (but not limited to) editing or deleting of posts or threads; locking threads, official warnings to members; suspending or permanently banning members’ accounts, email addresses and/or IP addresses. In addition repeated severe violations may result in a report being generated with one's Internet Service Provider..

1.5: In general, proper warnings through PM’s or official warnings will be given as needed; further or more serious violations of the ToS can result in a minimum of one or more point warnings. Generally, an point warning is assigned a negative value of 1 point each, and expires (remains active for) 2 months. If you accumulate 3 active points, your account is automatically suspended for 1 month, but we also reserve the right to permanently ban a member at this, or any, time. Warnings may also carry no point value. These point totals are only seen by the CFnet staff. Members do not see point totals of other members. For more information, please see Disciplinary Process Explained

1.6: Members are expected to take responsibility for what they post online. While personal information or copyrighted information may be removed by the Staff upon request, the Staff are not obliged to remove large quantities of posts. If you do not wish to be a member any longer, the simplest course of action to take is to not log in. Accounts cannot be deleted. Staff members are not obliged to delete any posts if requested but may consider such requests on an individual basis.

1.7: (Privacy Policy) As a user, you agree to any information you have entered being stored in a database (this may include email and IP addresses). This Private information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent except as provided for by LAW. Additionally, neither the Staff Team, nor the Site Owner may be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

It can may be viewed only by Staff, and any group of users you select. The Staff Team will not disclose your contact or personal details without your prior permission, however this information may be shared among the Staff Team if it is deemed relevant to the performance of routine duties by the Staff Team.

1.8: ChristianForums.net users are responsible for taking the time to read the Terms of Service. All Members are asked to periodically review the Terms of Service for any updates that are posted. It is each Member’s responsibility to check the ToS and the ‘Stickies’ (especially Announcements) periodically in order to stay apprised of any changes. Announcements are to be considered part of this Terms of Service Agreement by way of mention.

1.9: Participants must be at least 13 years old to participate. Users who are found to be under the age of 13 will have their account disabled until they meet this criteria. ChristianForums.net does not maintain permission records from parents.

It is our desire to provide a safe community that reflects Christian values and yet remains sensitive to all users. It is also understood that participating in the forums is done at one's own risk. Due to the size of the ChristianForums.net we do not commit to providing 24-hour community monitoring for every area. Nor do we commit to verifying identities of community participants. In addition, we are not responsible for the safety of children in the christianforums.net community. However, we do aim to have at least one staff member online most of the day.

1.10: ChristianForums.net Leadership has the right to decide what forms of Christian "ministry" can be practiced and preached within the forums and to decide whether to deem any form of ministry ‘unsafe’ or outside of the basic tenants of Christianity as described below and within the Announcement Stickies incorporated herein by way of mention.

1.11: You should always view content on the forums as a public forum. All posted conversations are logged and are the property of christianforums.net and may be used for the basis of investigative or disciplinary action at the discretion of the Administrators.

1.12: The line of authority at ChristianForums.net is Global Moderators, Super Moderators, Administrators, and Site Owner. Questions about finances should be directed to the Site Owner, but please note any other issues should be directed to Administrators, as the Site Owner does not engage with the running of the forums themselves.

1.13: As a member of ChristianForums.net, you agree to abide by the Terms of Service wherever possible and you stipulate that you understand the disciplinary process in response to violations of the ToS.

Section 2: Specific Rules and Guidelines

2.1: This is a Christian site, therefore, any attempt to put down Christianity (or declare that it is false) and the basic tenets of our Faith will be considered a hostile act. Please read: Statement of Faith

We consider Paul's writings to be part of the inspired Word of God. This is a Christian forum and any posting(s) that is intended to purposely distort Paul's writings will not be tolerated.

Active promotion of sinful behavior will not be permitted. This includes promotion of sexual sin and/or homosexual behavior. Do not make statements either by posts or posting URLs to other Websites which advocate activities, beliefs or teachings contrary to those of Christianity as articulated by the historic creeds, as understood by Evangelicalism, and as interpreted by the christianforums.net Leadership's sole discretion.

Any URL that is posted that leads to a page that is of anti-Christian content, or of such content that is offending or disturbing to other board users may be removed. This removal and decision for removal will be done so at the discretion of the christianforums.net Staff.

If you are unsure about a site or its content please direct your question to the Moderator assigned to the Forum Area you plan on posting in or to any of the Staff. This rule also applies to any material whether it be on the web, in print, on video, or on audio.

You will not post any messages; links, images or photos that promote a religion or belief other than Biblical and historical Christianity (atheism is considered a "belief" for the purposes of this rule). This includes Full Preterism, Universal Reconciliation, Universal Salvation, Serpent seed, Dual Seed or Two-Seedline doctrine where discussion is limited to and only allowed in the 1 on 1 Debate Forum. This is a Christian Forum as the name suggests.

Discussion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) is also limited and will only be allowed in Christian Talk & Advice, and/or the Bible Study forum. We understand the need to discuss LGBT issues, and to provide support for those struggling with such issues. This restriction is in place because experience has taught us that many are unable to debate this in a Godly manner, or and without promoting sin in one form or another. We do welcome posts for support or prayer, or sincere Biblical discussions.

2.3: No foul language, pornographic, sexually offensive, sexually explicit, or similarly related material or language including toilet humor. Respect where others are in their spiritual walk, do not disrupt the flow of discussion or act in a way that affects others negatively including when debating doctrinal issues, in the defense of the Christian faith, and in offering unwelcome spiritual advice.

It is a violation to misquote or misrepresent another member. Do not flood a forum or thread with similar posts, or many posts in succession. Allow others a chance to speak and be heard. If you are responding to multiple posts in the same thread, please consider using the multi-quote feature. Please refrain from taking a thread too far off topic.

2.5: Do not "call out" other members by name who you have a disagreement with in the OP of a new thread or in a thread they are not already in. Members should not be put in the position of having to defend themselves in a discussion they have not yet chosen to participate in. The staff reserves the right to wave this term if it is deemed to be good-natured fun.

2.6: A member may not impose additional rules upon threads by claiming on/off topic or by other means. Moderators will enforce only the rules as included in the ToS and are not obligated to enforce regulations promoted by a member.

Please keep posts down to a respectable length and provide source and/or links for your info. Videos of personal teachings are not acceptable at this time. We want to respect copyrighted material. Be sure at minimum to cite your source and keep all posts in compliance with Fair Use copyright law. Plus, you stand a better chance of getting your post read if it contains a link with an excerpt from source that's relative to your point.

Threads started by members become the property of christianforums.net as cited in ToS 1:11 and are not to be considered as a member's thread or otherwise "owned".
