Come on Questdriven!
I'm still laughing.

It's not fair...?
How big are you?
6 feet, 200 pounds?

No?
Then how is it not fair?
Are you one of those feminists Papa Zoom is talking about??
If a woman is being physically abusive and the man strikes back in self defense, yet he's the one who, no question, goes to prison, how is that fair?
Some would argue that it's actually feminists who have made these sorts of laws, that assume men are the aggressor in cases of domestic violence, possible. Some like to pretend that women cannot be at fault in those kinds of situations, or assert that because studies suggest women are more likely than men to suffer PTSD from abuse, that the laws should continue to ignore abuse towards men by favoring the woman.

One third of the rapes in the military are in fact men being raped by women.

I don't understand how a woman could be physically abusive to a man.
A slap is being physically abusive?
The only reason a man takes it is because he has the correct feeling toward a woman. That she is WEAK.

If you're right, how come women get violated??
Why don't they just fight back and be "abusive" to the aggressor??

Women can and do instigate domestic violence. That's a fact. There are many factors at play other than sex.

What I'm saying is that if WOMEN ARE NOT WEAK, as I claim they are, WHY do they get violated??

As to the domestic violence...

Where's Barb??
We could use some graphs here.
The percentage must be down in the single digits.
Men will not tend to stand there and be physically abused forever.
§A slap is a slap,
physical abuse is different and I truly doubt they'd take it.
The men here could comment.

One said he'd leave a woman JUST FOR A SLAP alone!

One's sex doesn't make them immune to being treated horribly. Neither does one's sex mean they are incapable of treating others horribly. Of course I know women can be abused, I am a woman and I have had things happen to me. That doesn't mean women as a whole are always going to be victims.

You know Jason,
I'm beginning to believe you should leave the military and get back into the real world.
Women never would rape, assault, kill their own.it's a fluke .case anthony,Meh rare.why is it that we assume women must be so weak and that they are all pushover. A gun and knife is quite an equalizer.most rape victims know their assillants.
Never assume ,as in this case,it's by force via a gun or knife, consent was not given.I had a neighbor and the only person my dog didn't like.she was a sexual predator who was charged and convicted of statutory rape .her victim was a 17 yr ol d boy. There was a mother in my town sentenced to 30 years for sex with a minor.the definition of rape is sex or the attempt to have sex without consent.a minor, a person who is unable because of mental capacity, and or sobriety can't not give consent.a person not resisting to the act isn't consent.if they say no and you force it and they don't resist it's rape!

I hate to ask this.
But you haven't explained how a man could be raped.

Here are some statistics:

Women abused: 85%
Men abused 15%

http://www.statisticbrain.com/domestic-violence-abuse-stats/
I was actually looking for some statistics I remember seeing before, but was unable to re-find them.
This does not disprove what I was saying in the slightest. Simply because abuse towards women is far more common, does not justify the law being automatically biased toward women. Men deserve an equal trial as well, does it really matter which is more common? That, and if a man is going to go to jail for reporting something because the law is far more likely to assume him to be the one at fault, do you really expect them to report it in any significant numbers?!

I don't say this often, but I am honestly quite taken aback here.

Forced sodomy ,forced oral sex.men is asleep wakes up and pushed off a girl who is on top of him as the link I posted.gun point.you will have sex with me or I will shoot you

Or Is your definition of consent only include yes or no and a I can have sex with a 13 year old girl simply by her permission?

Abuse is a complicated topic and one that's hard for most people to grasp. Questions such as "why does s/he just leave?" is common. It's seriously not that simple, there's all kinds of emotional stuff involved too and abusive people are masters at manipulation. It's not so much about who has more physical strength, that's an oversimplification.
I know some things because I've talked to people who had been in abusive situations and read resources. My own past is part of the reason I sought access to those resources. (Though I have not been a victim of DV specifically, no.)

They do there is reports.

Must be a joke to you.I am a victim of sexual assault.as is my sister ,twice.her assilants knew her and one was a boyfriend! As I knew the guy in my case.
Are we talking about sexual assault here?

I said VIOLATED way back at the beginning.
I meant rape.
Usually violated means raped.
Are we talking about sexual assault, which could be anything,
or are we talking rape??

If we're talking about rape, which I was,
then I stick to my original idea. I don't know how a man could be raped.
Maybe I'm just naiive...

I'm not a guy. What do I know?
If a guy is at gun point...
Doesn't FEAR override every other feeling??

I really would like to stop talking about this...

I understand Questdriven.
There are different types of abuse.
My husband abuses me when he tells me to get off this computer!!

I was specifically speaking to physical abuse.
Men are stronger than women.
Women could be physically abused.
I doubt 90% of men could be physically abused. I'm not saying it's impossible --nothing is impossible.

But it's not probable...

I'm saying that DV isn't only physical. Physical abuse (be it DV or sexual abuse or both) is more likely than not going to be intertwined with emotional and mental abuse as well. It's needed in order to keep the victim silent and under your control. Abusers often "groom" their victims and seem like the best people in the world, it's only when it's very hard for you to back out that they show their true colors and begin tormenting you. There's seriously more to it than just strength.
I'm only saying that the people are supposed to be guaranteed a fair trial under the law, and that laws that make it possible for an abused man to be the one taken to jail when he's actually the victim, are bad laws and need to change. Simply because abused men may be in the minority, does not mean they do not matter.

Again,
I said I agree with you.
Except for physical abuse.
The man will always be held more responsible because he is STRONGER and a normal woman could never win in a fight with a normal man.
