I've thought about it, but cannot add another hobby to my list at the moment. lol There are a lot of guys who do it on the lake near me.

I know what you mean.

Minnows!

I have a couple of friends who have a boat and fish, but are not into Crappie.

If I want to go after them, I have to call a guide.

Guide = Minnows.

What do you use?

Jigs?

JLB

Over the years JLB I have tried and continue to use all sorta baits. Out here in New Mexico at least, I have better results using spinner baits. I will use jerk baits and crank baits as well but because the water out here in the Southwest is not as clear as other States, it's more murky. The spinner bait seems to catch the fishes eye. I also have tremendous luck throwing soft baits as well. I typically use 3/8" oz.

Alabama worm rigs are pretty good for bass.

Here in TN they got several of the lakes stocked with a hybrid bass. This 5-15lb bass will hit a top water lure at sunrise.
Ain't nothing like it either when that big fish hits a top water lure and then wants to disagree about getting in the boat.

Not sure where to post this - please move it if it violates something here..

Fishing - it's beginning to warm up and the water temp is perfect this time of year for fishing. Do we have any Anglers here? I'm a big time angler (love the sport). I got my daughter in the sport as well. This Summer we are attending our first Bass tournament together, I'm excited.

If you love fishing, do you have tips, techniques, bait setups, what is in your tackle box?

Let's talk fish...

Hi. Is it salt water or fresh water your fishing?. There is different bass.

Any tips on surf fishing would be welcome my way. Taking the family to the beach, dauphin island, this June. First time I've ever seen the ocean. Would love to catch some to eat while there.

Them hybrid bass are monsters. I never caught one myself but boy those look fun

I have no idea about fresh water fishing I never done it. I only salt water fish. Cant really help but good luck. Hey maybe you can find a fresh water fishing forum and get some tips from the pros. :thumbsup

Thank you... Not sure I am asking for help though? I'm just a angler talking fish. That could be freshwater or saltwater. I went red snapper fishing off the Gulf Coast and had a blast.

Here is a picture of my catch

Nice table fish size. Good for eating. But you need the big Reds. You want the 20+lb.

lol.. someday

Do you go boat or land based?. Rocks, beach, boat?. If you want a big red you have to target the big Red. There's a skill to it, you can get the big Red. Its more than just putting your line in and hoping the big one eats the bait first. If you want I will PM you how to target and catch big Reds and the set up.

I just moved back to NM so I'm not near the Gulf anymore.. But all my family live out in the Gulf area.
We actually went out on a buddies boat about 50 miles off shore and red snapper was in season.
Well this is the place to talk 'fish so if you have tips and tricks, who knows there could be other salt water Fishermen here, post them here... :thumbsup

Sounds like a plan. I was going to do that yesterday but realized that I forgot to pick up my 2017 license (2016 expired on February 28).
