Do you believe/understand that the resurrection/rapture is one event that takes place at His coming?
A clarified YES but we dont completely agree on what rapture is..
Do you believe the coming of the Lord was in 70 AD?
Thee coming of our Lord as you believe His coming to be .. NO
Do you believe the resurrection/rapture is past?
see answer #1 I do not believe rapture to be just as you say it is...so it woudl not be right to just say yes... The resurrection is still to come..

I believe God was involved in the building and destruction of all the Temples beginning with the one Solomon built, through the one that is about to be rebuilt.

But, apparently, you don't believe the Bible has anything to do with the destruction of the Temple in 70AD. You think Danial refers to the building of that temple, but the destruction of another temple, in his [long expired] prophetic time table. Sorry, I can't wrap by head around how someone can refuse to accept that Daniel means the same temple he just said was built, or the same time frame he gave.

And, when Jesus explains to the disciples that the temple standing then is going to be destroyed, you either don't think Jesus is talking about that temple he said he's talking about, or your think he immediately changes the subject when he's asked when it's going to be destroyed. You think Jesus then talks about the destruction of another temple (he doesn't even use the word "temple" again), without indicating that he's talking about another temple. And, you also refuse to accept the time frame Jesus gave.

“And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
Daniel 9:26

The events of 70 AD are mentioned in Daniel 9:26

And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.

The command to restore the Temple was given by Cyrus, and this work continued for seven weeks, and sixty two weeks.

That's 483 years of working on the Temple and City wall.

Then after Messiah was cut off, the city and sanctuary are destroyed, as it is to this day.

“Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times.
26 “And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
Daniel 9:25-26

Notice that the destruction of the city and sanctuary is not part of the 70 week prophetic time frame.

When Jesus said these words: “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” Matthew 24:2

He was referring to the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD.

Hello JLB
I tend to agree and Josephus appears to confirm that in his War of the Jews writings.

Here are the relevant passages:

Matthew 24::2 And Jesus said to them, “ are ye not seeing all these?
Amen I am saying to ye, not no may be being left here stone upon stone, which not shall be being thrown-down.”

Mark 13:2 And Jesus answering said to him, “thou are beholding these, the great buildings.
Not no may be being left here stone upon stone which not no may be being thrown-down

Luke 21:6 “These which ye are beholding.Shall be coming days in which not shall be being left stone upon stone here which not shall be being thrown-down

Luke 19:43 That shall be arriving days upon Thee, and Thy enemies shall be casting up a rampart/siege-work to Thee
and shall be encompassing Thee, and pressing Thee from-every-side.
44 And shall be leveling Thee and Thy offspring in Thee,
and not shall be leaving stone upon stone in Thee,
stead which not Thou knew the season of the visitation of Thee".

Welcome to the community!

Glad to have you.

Blessings to you.

When Jesus was speaking these words in verse 2, they were in the Temple area looking back at the Temple and the grounds, so the context is relevant.

However, when they were on the Mount of Olives, a Sabbaths day walk from the Temple, and the disciples were with Him privately, they asked Him another question.

Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Jesus refers to Daniel, in which we can see the bigger picture concerning the destruction of the temple, and the time of the abomination of desolation, and how they relate to the end of the age.

“Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand). Matthew 24:15

I just re-read this whole thread.

I used to be Anto9us.

after these years, I am still NOT definite on everything, but maintain that the 70 AD temple destruction is what Jesus was referring to.

there have been many threads elsewhere in which people complain that because of THE WAILING WALL - the "not 1 stone left on another" prophecy was not fulfilled.

and maybe the Wailing Wall is part of a Roman fort and not part of Jewish Temple at all.

I still believe Jesus' prophecy was fulfilled in 70 AD

Which prophecy of Jesus do you believe was fulfilled in 70 AD.

Welcome back, by the way.

Thanks for tagging me, I enjoyed re-reading through the thread again. 5 years ago. Wow!

I don't think the Wailing Wall is actually a wall from the "Temple." I think it is just an old piece of the western city wall of the ancient city, but not necessarily the wall of the temple.

Is this the prophecy you are referring to?

If so I agree this refers to the events of 70 AD.

However the rest of the chapter is referring to the end of the age.
