My best friend's son has liver cancer (90% certainty). 2/3 will be removed. If he survives, ongoing prognosis looks good. Could use some good prayer support at this time. He's an ATC in the Air Force, has a wife and son. Surgery will be on the 28th.

Edit: turned out to be bile duct cancer. Usually fatal as by the time it's diagnosed, it's too late. Since they are operating, it's actually a good sign, but they have to get all of it.

Prayers offered for him and his family and friends.

The good news is the liver grows back. I am sure he will probably have at least one round of chemotherapy.

Lifting them up!

God Bless!

Finally got some post-op results. By the end of the 10-hour procedure, surgeons had removed the planned 2/3 of his liver, his gall bladder, and some tract. Repairs done to damaged arteries. It would have been perfect had not a trace amount of cancer remained that they could not safely cut out of the bile duct. This will have to be dealt with through chemo/radiation.

Its still a fight for life with a cancer this malevolent, but at least he does have a fighting chance. For the moment it's PT and pain meds until he's ready for further treatment.

Thanks once again for all the prayer support.
