VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Francis hopes to mend ties with Muslims on his trip to Egypt on Friday but faces criticism from church conservatives for meeting Islamic religious leaders after a spate of deadly attacks against Christians.

In a video message to the people of Egypt on Tuesday, Francis said the world had been "torn by blind violence, which has also afflicted the heart of the your dear land" and said he hoped his trip could help peace and inter-religious dialogue.

Security is a primary concern less than three weeks after 45 people were killed in attacks on Coptic Christian churches in Alexandria and Tanta, claimed by Islamic State, on Palm Sunday.

Is this just a pipe dream by Pope Francis or could Christianity (all of it) come to some agreement to coexist with Islam?

We certainly don’t know the prelude to the following scenario in scripture, but we read this concerning that great day of the Lord:

Isa 19:24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:

Isa 19:25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

Don't forget the temple in Egypt and we'll the offerings there.

If you are going to take thar literally.

How do you co-exist with nations that have conflicting laws. Islim has its own law that is not compatable with the west. Fact.

Is a woman respected if she went to Iran and Saudi without wearing a hijab.

How can they respect people who wont abide by there sharia. Its called discrimination.

I would ask 3 questions of him
Does the Jewish god have a son
Does the god of islim have a son
Does your God have a Son.

If the Jewish God didn't have a Son there wouldn't be this argument.

Might want rephrase that.my God is and was a God to the Hebrews first.

Father of the Hebrew nation then by whom Jesus came and that has a caveat.one must believe to claim that and that statement is actually more about the people of isreal.

While I can argue this and defend it.I simply don't need to say by studying Abraham fully you will believe jn 3:16. The bible says to emulate Jesus.the reverse will work .funny I was thinking about the letter bait yesterday from our discussion about joyce meyer.Abraham was a shepherd, a priest,a father, and teacher of the torah.yet he had wealth.

I could go into the stories about Abraham and do so from a Jewish angle.

There is a big difference between how Abraham got wealthy and how some church teachers get wealthy. Teachers just say pay your tithe or give or sell books based on the bible. Ok its off topic let's not get into this discussion again. Nothing wrong with a teacher recieving there bread but its how the income is all managed.

All I will ask what is a minister?

A pastor,father, Sunday school teacher,husband, spouse?

Don't answer that ,but ponder how the first command of ten commandments says what love with that.

Rhetorical question

The nature ,person, and life of Abraham is relevent as islam, judaism and christian claim such a person is the father of isreal.
Not here it is not. This is about Pope Francis, and by extension all Christianity, reaching out to Islam to 'coexist'.
Start another thread about Abraham et al......

can the same be a Father and not a Father?

1Jn 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jn 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
1Jn 2:24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

2Jn 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
2Jn 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
