Matthew 16:27-28 (KJV) For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
These two verses always confused me as he seems to refer to the 2nd coming of Jesus. Problem is he is saying them they will not die until this has come to pass. Need some guidance on these two verses.

Hey, that old rascal Bill Taylor answered your question quite well. The first part of your question deals with Revelation and Jesus rewarding Believers according to their works while here on the earth....The second question deals with the transfiguration of Jesus, as Bill said.

that prophesyGo to chapter 17 of Matthew and your question is answered. Jesus was glorified by God as He stood there with Peter and the others, Moses and Elijah. They were given a snap shot, a microcosm of the Rapture, fulfilling that prophesy.
Thank you! As always you guys are extremely helpful. :)

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."

Lev_19:32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.

Maybe you do not 'get' the old english so here is the verse in NIV

New International Version
"'Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.

young men do well to appreciate the old guys :)
As a young man, at about thirty, I learned to listen to the aged aqd t remember what Dad had taught me, it was amazing how much smarter he was in the Grave than when I was a teenager and in my twenties. All of the aged en and women grew so much wiser at abot thirty.
