First they have to distort Revelation by Adding or Removing stuff to make a carnal narrative, then somewhere
else in the Bible they have to repeat the same process, sadly in this case the victim is the Cross.

Philippians 3:18-20
For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the CROSS of Christ.

I saw no reason to respond to any of your posts until this one. By your post are you insinuating that I am an enemy of the cross? That's what I gather you are trying to say. So if that is your thought, then you will have to go back and show where I have spoke against the cross. Do so if you can, but you won't be able to. I have asked if the cross has become a stumbling block, maybe the cross has become an idol for people.

As to distorting Revelation by adding to or removing stuff: As it pertains to the cross, where is the cross mentioned in the Book of Revelation that you should remain before it? What can the cross still provide for me that the tree of life cannot?

'What ABOUT my salvation......' has nothing to do with my statement here:

Maybe you could rephrase your question to accurately reflect my statement.

Forget it. I'm not interested in games, and you don't appear interested in a discussion. I don't want to wast any more of your time. I'm sure Barbarian has put up another post about Trump. Carry on as you will.

I am sorry but when you replace words from a statement you change its meaning.....leastways it does to me. There are some here that do that routinely so anymore I like to make sure people are using my words not theirs; that way I am sure we are talking about the same kind of apples.

Very well. As I understand you then, you live by the letter of the word, but don't know how to listen to the spirit of a message.
You are the one choosing to make some big distinction over a the letter of a word, that is your choice. And if by your choice you would rather play games, then quite frankly, you weren't really interested to begin with.

2 Cor 3:6

I just finished Revelation and must've glassed right over this, lol. :blackeye So this is the people who are without the city. (Outside the gates).
And Ezekiel explains what they will be doing outside...summer school, so to speak then satan deceives as many as he can, a final test of them. How great is God's mercy! Just from a to z.

Right? That makes sense, I agree with you. :nod
Well, you got to realize, some have been blinded, some never heard the truth.
In Amos 8:11 it states that the famine for the end times is not for bread, nor thirst, but hearing the words of the Lord.
God is fair and just.

As in Matt.7:21-27
Not everyone that Saith Lord,Lord, shall enter into the kingdom....

Fear. But fear of what?

It is sin that brings people to the cross. It is the fear of DEATH that keeps them there. The children of Israel were afraid to go up the mountain because of the fear for their death. The narrow road doesn't stop at the cross, it passes through the cross, but to do so requires one thing, the knowledge and acceptance of our own death, to be crucified with Christ. If we are crucified with Christ, then we are risen with Him also.

But the fearful and unbelieving, they remain at the cross. Like the children of Israel before them, they fear for their own death, and would not go up the mountain. Because they are unbelieving they remain before the cross, which was their first death, they shall face the Judgement seat before the Glory of the Lord, which is the second death.

I think we're talking about a fear of God here. Believers who are not mature yet. But they do believe in God, received Him and so forth...but stay at the cross, or go back to it at times because like you say, sin. They've been sinning. Probably praying less or not at all, and reading the Word less or not at all. But conviction of sin within them makes them fear, and for good reason too. Death is a long time.

So they naturally regress back unto the cross and asking for forgiveness and repenting. It makes sense and I'm not saying not to do it. But ideally, when one accepts the Lord, then instead of stagnating and not pushing forward to learn and grow in Christ...one will, Arise! Shine! and push forward towards the Lord and Hid Word. To pick up that cross and start that journey.

If we don't do that, then we wont be doing what the Lord instructed us to do until He comes, right? There's always that chance that the Lord will lock the door, or spew you out of His mouth. Other more mature Christians will be being diligent, studying to show themselves approved and be being perfected by Love, so will be ok.

Now there's a little presumption in that, and it can be debated until the cows come home, but deep down, everyone knows, that...God will have mercy on whom He will have mercy, and will have compassion on whom He will have compassion. It's all up to God with no debate.

Or so it seems to me. :study

Famine for the Word of God...What a terrible thought.

Perhaps we take the Word of God for granted in today's world. We've never had a famine for the Word of God before in our lifetimes. I hardly ever crack open my hard copy bible anymore. I'm too used to BibleGateway.com and BlueLetterBible.com. It's so easy to look things up, to read it...and so forth. These thoughts make me think to start making notes in my hard copy and underline stuff that I read online and then click out of. If the grid was to go down, or the internet to go down (probably will at some point), then suddenly we'd be with our hard copies only again. Would the internet come back the same as it was before? Or will BibleGateway.com and such sites be...not there anymore when the internet finally does come back up. I'm inclined to think that of course the Christian sites will be gone forever. Afterall, famine is just that...famine.

Even worse....
Just because you read someone's thoughts on an article, doesn't make it the truth.
The internet can be an enemy, also for good.
Everyone can have a different interpretation than another.
So what is truth?
I tell ya, I have been to a lot of churches, and a lot of them, sing, pass the plate, membership and potluck updates, then the preacher will tell you to open your Bibles, 15 minutes left , and read one verse, then man's word..uncle Fred did this, thus the Lord did this, I reckon maybe for an example..
Yet, really not getting down to what the Word In the Book says.
Then you have some that say, the Lord told me this, I have a message from God and so forth..
As in Ezek.13:1-23 False Prophets..
Prophesy of their own heart, follow their own spirit,
They have made others to hope that they would confirm the word,
Seen a vain vision, say the Lord Saith, and He did not speak it,
Seduced My people, saying peace, when there was none, built up a wall and others daubed it with untempered mortar, (white washed it)
Hunt the souls of My people, pollute Me among My people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by you lying to My people that hear your lies, I am against your pillows, (covering out stretched arms),
Hunt the souls to make them fly...

Yes, Famine! Lol

And there is a church, usually around every street corner....

It'll be like most times I think. People sometimes do not appreciate what they have, until it's gone. We prolly wont even be able to buy bibles anymore after some point. Then everyone will wish that they had studied more before...

It does seem as if a lot of people follow their own heart and pfft to everyone else.
Plus even to add more confusion over and above the false prophets...these are the last days, and the Lord promised to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh and give them revelation in the last days. And some of that, is going to be...not in scripture, yet truly from God and is the truth. But how is people supposed to know it for sure? They may know themselves, because God revealed it to them, but then since it might not be in scripture...can't really be passed on to other Brothers and Sisters because it will be rejected for not being in scripture.

Rightly dividing is going to get harder for some.

Revelation 22:18-19
A Warning

For I testify to everyone who hears the Words of the Prophecy of this Book:
If anyone ADDS to these things,
God will add to him The Plagues
that are Written in this Book;
and if anyone takes away from the Words of the Book of this Prophecy,
God shall take away his part from the Book of Life,
from the Holy City,
and from the things which are Written in this Book.

Either hear the Warning or Not, I'm sure if ya try to honor what it says
then ya will be branded with the new FEAR word.
If ya don't Fear God then be my guest & add/subtract whatever ya wish.
We are all without excuse, we have been warned!

God Bless

Well, there you go. There is the answer to all the OSAS threads. If God can take away his part from the Book of Life, then........

:thinking

Humor:
Don't mention the OSAS-Word, :hysterical
might offend those who act like the A-Word? :rollingpin
They will nail you to a Xተcross or even a 1 stake,
a wooden post to which a person was tied to
before being burned alive as a punishment, or
to mark an area with stakes so as to claim ownership of it,
etc.

If your going to offer a warning, then you will have to do more than say its a warning and post a scripture. What is being added to or being subtracted from? You keep saying that, but then you are unwilling to identify that for which you are warning about? Until you can do that, your warning is rather empty and meaningless.

Now on the other hand, when I suggest that those who remain at the foot of the cross may find them themselves on the outside on That Day; maybe you should consider that a warning?

Edward, this is you thread, your OP. In it you said that you had just finished the book of Revelation. Can you tell me if anywhere in the book of Revelation you came upon the cross, or came upon a place where people were gathered before the cross waiting?

The cross is on the outside of the city gates, but the tree of life? Is it inside the city gates?

Rev 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

The cross represents the death of Christ. It it the image of His Death. Hmmm? Cursed is anyone who hangs upon a tree. The cross was a tree. The cross is the image of his death, it is a tree of death. It is outside the city gates......Blessed are those who enter in through the city gates that the may have right to the tree of life.

Tree of life? or The Cross? Where would you want to find yourself on the day when the Lord returns and the door is shut?

Hebrews 6:1-2
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Let us go on unto perfection, leaving the first principles of the doctrine of Christ.....

What are these first principles? Repentance from dead works, and of the resurrection of the dead. Repentance from dead works and the resurrection of the dead; that is the Cross. It is both sides of the Cross: Death and Resurrection. These are part of the first principles of the doctrine of Christ. The Cross is a first principle of the gospel of Christ, but we must move on from these first principles, we must move on from the Cross if we are to go on unto perfection.

No I don't recall the cross anywhere in Revelation. The tree of life is obviously on the inside of the city gates because it has to be kept safe from those without.

...and me? Oh, I'll be hanging out over by the tree of life...Inside of course. :)

I believe that his point was more to the fact that...it is possible that God will remove some from the book of life. Not so much for the exact reason why, just that it's possible.

To even be at the "Foot of the Cross" is to be obeying the Holy Spirit!
All the Apostles fled the "Foot of the Cross" till they Received/Obeyed the Holy Spirit!
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Where is the Cross at, Who has a piece of it now?:lol
The Church Alter?
The floor in your bedroom where you Kneel in Prayer?
The alter in the Holy of Holies?
What in the World are we told in the Lord's Prayer?
'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'"

Maybe it would be better to say
"They have never approach the Cross at all"?
They are to afraid aka fearful/unbelieving/faithless/sinful/etc
or they
"They threw the Cross away & Don't Obey the Holy Spirit's Call because they believe they are sinless OSAS"?

God Bless

That statement would be incorrect. Not all the Disciples fled the foot of the cross. John was present, as was James I think?? As to the disciples who fled, they did not look for Him at the foot of the cross, they looked for him at his tomb, but he was not there. They talked with him on a road, though they knew not that it was he.

Who returned to the foot of the cross? Those who came to bury him, and lay him in his tomb.

Who remained at the foot of the cross? No one.

Where did they look for Christ? At the Cross or at his tomb?

Where did they find Christ? Not on the cross. And Not in his tomb.

When the Apostles received the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, were they waiting at the cross? Were they waiting at his tomb? Or were they waiting in some upper room as they were instructed to do?
