Thousands of Israelis converged on Jerusalem's Old City Monday night, marching around the walls of Jerusalem to commemorate the destruction of the Temple.

The event has taken place every year since 1994, but was almost canceled by the police due to fears of Arab violence. Despite information received by the police of calls on Facebook to 'Stop the settlers from walking to the Western Wall', Jerusalem Police District Commander Yoram Halevi decided not to prevent the traditional event from taking place, and gave the go-ahead.

Event organizers and Woman in Green headed co-founders Nadia Matar and Yehudit Katzover praised the decision."It is brave, moral, and the obvious thing to do" they said "It shows that the police do not submit to terrorism. Any place that is threatened by terrorism should be strengthened and protected by the police."

The evening started with a joint reading of 'Eicha' (Lamentations) in Independence Park, and continued with the participants marching around the Old City walls up to the Lions Gate, where speeches were given by Deputy Defense Minister MK Eli Ben Dahan (Jewish Home), MK Yehuda Glick (Likud), and Yishai Fleisher, International Spokesman for the Jewish Community of Hevron.

MK Glick, a noted Temple Mount activist, focused his speech on the recent terror attacks that rocked Israel. "This past year, the police have paid a very high price. Five policemen were killed here" he said. "We've gotten to the root of everything, the Temple Mount"

Glick noted the sharp increase of Jewish visitors on the Temple Mount. calling it a miracle, along with the re-settlement of Judea and Samaria saying that "The IDF can defeat its enemies in battle, but those who give them the power to win are the people tonight, mothers and children who are putting facts on the ground."

Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben Dahan echoed Glick's remarks, saying that "everyone who came here tonight proved with his feet that we want the Temple back - and quickly."

Ben Dahan also called on the government to make Jewish prayer possible on the Temple Mount.

"It cannot be that everyone is to pray here except Jews," he said.

Yes I think the situation there is definitely augmenting. This is why I post both on FB and forums about Jerusalem, specifically the temple mount. I have Google alerts set for Yahuda Glick as well as archaeologist EIlat Mazar. This way I can see things happening from both the political/religious as well as the scientific end of things. She has been finding a lot of stuff and building remains lately.

The preacher that Baptized me, Richard Clarke of Mississippi, turned Missionary to Israel reported some time ago that the digging under the Dome On The Rock that the Arabs were so upset about a number of years back yielded the Ark of the Covenant before they stopped digging. He also reported he watched them carry it out and store it in a warehouse that contains every stone, already cut to shape so that the sound of tools working will not be heard when they assemble it.

I believe the third Temple is closer than most know. We are in the Last Days, right now!

.
Why does Israel need another temple when they presently offer sacrifices? (Anyone?)
Without a temple, presently the Jews have taken the scripture of Hosea 14:2 as sacrifice. ". . we render the calves of our lips." This is much like Hebrews 13:15. "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."

Ezr 3:4 They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required;
Ezr 3:5 And afterward offered the continual burnt offering, both of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of the LORD that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto the LORD.
Ezr 3:6 From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.

KD, how can Israel steal land that was given to them by God?
There will be some UPSET Arabs but all of the Land east to the Tigres and south to the Red Sea belongs to Israel and I believe there is a very good chance He might give it back to His Chosen People, once more.

I just try speak the truth not trying to cause trouble. But there was Israel and Judah. And the land that modern Israel has taken in the name of self defence most of it is the Kingdom of Judah, that is Palestine, where the people were living in peace.
Yes, most of it belonged to Judea but they were one tribe when the land was deeded to them by God; Himself. And that is why I believe that Jesus will restore all of the land back to their control. Sudan, Iraq, jordan and many others will not like it but He will rule with an Iron rod.

Hosea 14:2 was written to the house of Israel. The house of Israel due to their exiled state become "Gentile" nations (promised to Abraham) just like brother Joseph became a "Gentile" so that his own brethren did not recognize him. Actually, many of the house of Israel would accept Christ, thus are traditionally "Christian nations" of today, specifically northwest Europe, Britain and the USA who were historically purveyors of the gospel message. Most of Hosea is not written to the Jews. In the end, both these people and the Jews will be gathered back to their land.

In the meantime, the Jews feel they need to have a temple, and indeed there will be a temple, for preparation of Messiah. It's all in your bible.

Thanks for your reply. Where do you find that in the bible? I too think that there will be another temple, but I can't think of where there is verification of that. I know we read in Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand. To me any temple that would be built would not be holy, and standing in the holy place is the beast commanding allegience in place of God.

There is 2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (Is God's temple on earth, and of course, at least in my thinking, it is he who is termed the antichrist by many at that time, and just a puppet of Satan.?)

Speaking of Israel's iniquity, Eze 44:13 says: And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed.

You just quoted the scriptures, Eugene. So what is there not to understand in them that there will be another temple? And beyond scripture, look at the Jews now in the land of Israel. They want another temple and already have all the artifacts made. Why would they settle for less?

There is more and more information coming to light that what is called "The Temple Mount" was, in fact, the site of the Fortress Antonia which housed some 6000 roman soldiers and another 4000 ancillary civilians and Herod's Temple was, in fact, about 600 feet away on Mount Zion, in the City of David.

So, the temple could be built today without disturbing the "Dome of the Rock" mosque or requiring the Muslims to allow building on the "Temple Mount."

Jim: The "City of David" theory has been adequately disproven with the discovery of the Greek Acra and also David's palace by archaeologist Eilat Mazar. The place that they say the temple stood in the city of David, namely by the likes of Dr. Martin, was the same location that the Acra and palace were found. And even it these buildings were NOT an Acra and palace, the remains certainly were not that of the temple yet stood there at the same time in history as the first and second temples. In addition, the "Trumpeting stone" i.e. the place of the trumpeting to summon the people to the temple, was found in the Southwest corner of the present temple mount -- not in the city of David. When the temple was destroyed, that stone was thrown over and one can still see the impression it made below from where it fell. Here is a map and site of what I am saying. I am open to the temple being at various locations ON the mount as people are not certain due to lack of archaeological evidence, but the "city of David" theory does not fly. (See 2 Chronicles 5:2)

How does one house 6000 soldiers and 4000 civilians (10,000 people) in the "Fortress Antonia" of what is supposed to be the temple mount?
