Satanism is ridiculous (I think...). They're pretty much just glorifying and reveling in human nature. Christians are big on self-renunciation and crucifying the flesh. If you'll notice, Christians have opened hospitals, orphanages, started organization to provide care and comfort to the "least of these," etc....

...whereas Satanists have pretty much given us poorly written books (such as the satanic bible) and cheesy occult stuff.

I really think "Satanism" is mostly an excuse to party and mock Christians. I doubt very seriously that most Satanists really believe they are worshipping a supernatural fiend. Unfortunately, they don't have to believe this in order to be helping the supernatural fiend accomplish his purposes. Satanism is too much of a cartoon to be an effective enemy of Christianity. The effective enemies - the real tools of Satan - are either plausible counterfeits of Christianity or appealing secular/humanist philosophies. Only the Christian perspective really gives meaning and purpose to life and explains the reality in which we live. A Satanist or hedonistic perspective is superficial and hollow, as we see time and again when someone who seems to "have it all" in terms of worldly fame and success commits suicide because he or she finally realizes that "having it all" is really having nothing at all.

I think there are at least two different types of Satanists. One is a counter to Christianity and the point is to self indulge in life, but they are actually atheistic and don't believe in the supernatural at all. The other actually believes Satan exists and worship him. I knew a guy who fell into the second category for a time. He also believed our God exists, but he believed our God was the enemy.

So far as quality of life, the Bible says it rains on the righteous and wicked alike. Everyone goes through bad stuff because the world we live in is fallen.

That moment you realize words like "righteous" and "wicked" are simply part of Christian jargon because the Bible uses them, but that people unfamiliar with Christianity and the terms we use will take it as a statement of superiority. Whoopse.
