It seems loosely based on the story of Christ, that one guy that keep ratt'n on people is a version of judas I guess, the people who taught him God's advice say that he will be forgiven no matter what he do so he rats over and over again.

He's a perfect example of what I mean when I talk about that stuff, I don't think that was what was meant by forgiveness.

But anyway, would you repent or admit to being Christian?

Would you give in to the darkness to keep your life?

The Scorsese flick about missionary in Japan, I thought that it was pretty although a bit drawn out and I didn't care for the ending.

I guess the guy became a apostate that still secretly believed, I didn't know that was possible, I get persecuted everywhere because I will compromise my belief even if I keep them in secret but publicly agree with everyone else just to stop the persecution.

I could not face God if I did that, but that just me I guess.

Oh, good, I did see that one. (Warning, spoilers ahead!)

Well, I'm not sure what the right thing would be in that environment. Apostasy is wrong, yes. Renouncing your beliefs to save yourself, in any way, must be wrong. But what if it means saving others' lives?

Was Rodrigues saved? He was apostatic. But he still had the tiny kernel of faith when he died. The film doesn't answer this question, and I don't think was meant to.

I also wonder a lot about the Japanese people. Most of the people I met in Japan were athiests. One of my best friends from there is atheist. Are they all lost? They're a wonderful society that oddly seems to obey God's laws without particularly believing in Him. Chotto hen desu, ne.

I believe that people don't have to be Christian or any other established religion to be good people, ive met people that disdain the precept of a higher power yet live by God's law as a matter of course.

Are they going to Heaven? I don't know, I usually tell folk if they ask me that being baptized may safely cover your bases and you don't got to go to church every day or read the Bible although them can help if you choose to learn more about your church.

Also having fellowship with like minded folk is very therapeutic that's essentially what I get here.

I don't go to church or face to face fellowship because I'd get into arguments and I just avoid the negativity.
