1> The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
2> Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
1 Timothy 4:1-4
I have been wondering about this concept for some time.
Jesus met the pharisees who said He was from satan.
Jesus said this
19> This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
20> Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
21> But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
John 3:19-21
Now I have to be honest. If I sin my conscience plays havoc with me.
I feel bad and have to get right with God, it is not something I can ignore.
I have discussed things with believers, so some who claim to be believers.
When I prob on simple issues like love, forgiveness, joy, peace, blessing I
get accused of boasting and being a superior arrogant legalist.
Now because this response has not been from just one or two but a whole
movement and a set of teachers who churn out the same dogma, it made
me to begin to wonder, have these people literally seared their consciences
so their conscience is now silent, but being reminded of unconfessed and dealt
with sin causes twinges, and then anger and hatred.
I have to be frank. Compromise with sin, and living in evil and accepting behaviour
that is not Holy is to be an enemy of God. There is no other place.
11> Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.
3 John 1:11
If anyone knows what love is in their heart in Christ will agree with me.
People who have compromised so deeply, knowing the gospel yet walking
without a conscience are lost causes. I have yet to meet one who has come
back from this situation, so I am open to an example, but there are plenty who
were lost in the world and have come to Christ and walk in love, which is very
different.
Now I know we are often a work in progress, issues still being resolved, but that
is a very different place that actually given up to sin, which seems to be the
testimony of some.
God bless you, and may you know the Holy Spirit filling you faily
