I should be in bed right now since I'm going to church tomorrow, I'm slowly falling asleep but I believe that I shouldn't go to bed feeling angry so I just wanted to let off a little steam. Don't get me wrong, I respect my elders and I love my parents very much but just because at 27 years old why do I always have to obey them!? I mean sure they don't give me as many rules as when I was a kid but still, I shouldn't have to ask them every time that I want to do something! :hips And besides that, it really makes me mad when other adults who are olded than me but have no authority on me whatsoever try to tell me what to do! Why in the world makes it YOUR business if I'm up until one o'clock in the morning!!! :mad I'm sorry for lashing out like that but I just had to get it out. Anyway, I'm better now and back to my question, when do grown children get to stop obeying their parents and start living their own life? Again, I'm sorry for getting mad, but I do wish that some people would mind their own business. Please don't take it personally.

You're twenty-seven, living with your parents, and expect them to bend to your desires instead of their own?
Let's see: oh I want to sit around all day drinking liquor, and smoking pot. What? You don't?
I turn my music on full volume, and scream RAP, but wow, I sure sound good. When are they going learn what's happening today?

Have you considered joining the Armed Services, and beginning your own life: wait, let me think back sixty plus years, and it seems that we had a rule or two there also, but nothing that being forced to stand at attention for an hour, or spending the next sixteen hours or so in the chow-hall scrubbing pots and pans; push-ups and forced marches didn't cure; they were always fun at four AM. Making your bed, and remaking it twenty or so times in a row because it had some part of the blanket not perfectly stretched, and/or a corner not perfectly square. You wouldn't have to worry about crowding of your personal effects which all had to be stored in a footlocker at the bottom of the cot you sleep on, and a two foot long clothes rod at the top side of your cot to hang perfectly starched clothes you ironed. Five AM may be inspection and prayer time. You pray they find nothing wrong when inspecting you. RAP singers or whatever they're called never had the language a T.I. can issue forth, and its purpose? Basic Training – often called boot camp – prepares recruits for all elements of service: physical, mental and emotional. ... https://todaysmilitary.com/training/boot-camp

There you would learn the term YES SIR, or YES MA'AM regardless what you're asked or told, and not complain about anything. :)

I would NEVER EVER want to do that. The only reason I'm still living with my parents is because I can't afford my own place right now due to the fact that I am disabled. I would never do something like that even if I was on my own.

I did as soon as they passed over.

Oh and also I would never scream at the radio either. Again, I apologize, I was just really upset last night. I'm over it now though. :)

When do you stop obeying you're parents? Generally when you move out of their home. You're disability is probably a great concern of your parents, especially if they know that what you want to do might harm you. Parents are quite smart you know. They've been where you are now.
