As Christians how do you tackle this sin nature you have. Also how do you deal with other people when they reveal their sin nature to you?

Much of your to do list that is posted is scriptural, however it doesn't give a Believer victory over sin, the world, the flesh and the Devil. Only the "Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2)", gives the Believer victory:

Victory over sin: Romans 8:2
Victory over the world: Galatians 6:14 ; 1 John 5:4
Victory over the flesh: Galatians 5:24
Victory over the devil: Hebrews 2:14 ; Colossians 2:15

The Law Of The Spirit Of Life In Christ Jesus is the will of God's only prescribe order of victory for every born again Believer. It simply means that the Believer must place and maintain Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross, i.e., Finished Work., i.e., the Blood of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit works exclusively within the legal confines of the Finished Work, i.e., the Cross of Christ, i.e., the Blood of Jesus, which guarantees the help of the Holy Spirit, which guarantees Victory.

If the Believers doesn't understand or attempts to live for God by any manner other than Faith in Christ and the Cross, he is doomed to failure. This places the Believer in the law of sin and death which is sin. For whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Faith that is not placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and the Cross, i.e., The Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus (Romans 8:2), cancels out the grace of God in your life that the Cross of Christ achieved for you (1 Cor. 1:17; Gal. 2:21). Christ is become of no effect unto you (Gal. 5:4).

The Cross of Christ is as necessary for sanctification as it is for salvation (1 Cor. 1:18).

The Apostle Paul said, "I am determine to know no any thing among you, except Jesus Christ, and Him Crucified (1 Cor. 2:2)." Why would Paul say that? Because that is the only solution. Many Believers have been given a sugar pill.

So, what does the child of God do?
Nothing?
God has chosen to operate His work from the basis of faith. "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:2) is God's prescribed order of victory for the Believer over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil. This means that the Believer must place and maintain proper Faith the size of a mustard seed exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary, i.e., The Finished Work, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, where the victory was won so that His life would be lived through you. This gives the Holy Spirit the legal means to help and do what is needed to be done in the Believers life because the Believer is glorifying Christ, God's beloved Son in whom He is pleased. You are now operating in the spirit. No Believer can fix the flesh with the flesh. All fruits that are added to the leaves of the Believer most be done by the Holy Spirit or you enter the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21).

The Holy Spirit doesn't require much of us, but He does require one thing, and without reservation.
Our Faith must be exclusively be in Christ and the Cross; understanding that this is God's Prescribed Order of Victory (Rom. 8:2).

The Holy Spirit works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "The Cross of Christ" i.e., "The Blood of Jesus;" which demands that our Faith be placed and maintained exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15).

Victory over sin: Romans 8:2
Victory over the world: Galatians 6:14; 1 John 5:4
Victory over the flesh: Galatians 5:24
Victory over the Devil:Hebrews 2:14; Colossians 2:15

The Apostle Paul makes it very clear in Romans 8:10 that the physical body, mind / intellect, and the heart (which is evil - Jeremiah 17:9) has been rendered helpless because of the original sin; consequently, the Believer trying to overcome by willpower presents a fruitless task. Only the Holy Spirit can mortify the deeds of the flesh and make us what we ought to be (Romans 8:13). This means we cannot do it ourselves. Once again, He performs all that He does within the confines of the Finished Work of Christ (Romans 8:2).

If a Christian will and their efforts to live for God is in anything except Christ and the Cross, i.e., Finished Work, The Blood of Jesus (Romans 8:2), Satan can override your will and force you to do things you don't want to do and trying not to do (Ephesians 6:12). Jesus said deny yourself and pick up your cross and follow me (Luke 9:23).

Remember our bodies are dead and useless to God. The heart is prone to wander away from God's love and eat from "The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil." The reason why the body is dead is because of the effects of the fall has made us totally incapable of yielding spiritual obedience on a regular basis (Jeremiah 13:23). So there must be a source outside of myself that helps me to enter into sanctification which is the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:13).

Note: The Believer must repent not just for the bad they are doing, but also for the good they are doing. Why? Because the Believer can depend on the good to get them through (Jer. 6:13-15). Good things will always follow right living. However, that is not God's way. His way is Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work (Rev. 3:17-22).

How does a Believer maintain Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross? By just believing in Jesus (who He is - John 1:1-14) and what He accomplished at Calvary Cross where the victory was one. Romans 4:5 - Galatians 2:19-21 NKJV - 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 NKJV - Colossians 2:11-15 NKJV

The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus and the Law of Sin and Death are the two most powerful Laws in the Universe; the "Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" alone is stronger than the "Law of Sin and Death"; this means that if the Believer attempts to live for God by any manner other than Faith in Christ and the Cross, i.e, "The Finished Work", i.e., "The Blood of Jesus," they are doomed to failure.

If a Christians faith is not maintain exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, i.e., The BLOOD of Jesus, the works of the flesh will manifest.

Paul tells us this in the 5th Chapter of Galatians. The entire Book of Galatians, but especially the 5th Chapter, is a warning from Paul to the Church at Galatia, which is also meant for us. The warning is that if they place their faith in anything except “Christ and Him Crucified,” that “Christ shall profit you nothing” (Gal. 5:2).

The Apostle goes on to say that if the Believer doesn’t adhere to the Way of the Spirit, which is the Way of the Cross, then works of the flesh will manifest themselves. He said:

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God” (Gal. 5:19-21).

Now let me say it again, because it is so very important:
If the Believer doesn’t understand the Cross of Christ, as it regards Sanctification, then, in some way, one or more of these “works of the flesh” are going to manifest themselves in his life. As stated, such is inevitable! The first four, “Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, and lasciviousness,” are obvious and easily understood. But the modern Christian quickly dismisses “idolatry, witchcraft, and heresies,” thinking they do not really apply today.

Everything that mans does dies; everything Jesus does lives forever and is blessed. Psalm 1:3

You sure are good at not answering direct questions.

!. Repent.
2. Practice the virtues until I get good at them.
(Kinda like replacing bad habits with good habits)

Try to remember that I'm no better.
Sanctification....
Not only do we strive not to do the bad...
But we strive to do good.

Not doing bad is not sufficient. It has to be replaced with good.

Great post.

As to the O.P., yes, the reason we need the cross is precisely because of our Sin Nature.
Without the cross we could not do what we have to do -- whatever that may be. The Cross makes it POSSIBLE for us to follow Jesus. This was not possible before Him unless someone came into direct contact with God...as all the Fathers in the O.T., Aabraham, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, David, Saul, Joshua etc.

I DON'T HAVE a "Sin nature", and there's no such thing as "Original SIN". What we BOTH have is a HUMAN NATURE, same as Adam always had, and Jesus had (since HE was tempted just like WE ARE).

TWO things were cursed after the fall - the EARTH - which was made subject to VANITY (negative entropy) and the serpent. Adam wasn't Cursed, and the change in his environment was FOR HIS SAKE.

I "Tackled" my human nature by responding (under God-brought "Conviction of SIN") in Repentance, and surrender to HIM, Crying out for salvation in FAITH (gifted by God) in the SIN OFFERING of Jesus on the Cross for the cleansing of my SIN - which resulted in the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and a new outlook on life - followed by 57 years of walking as HE Guided, and leaning of HIM. I'm not PERFECT (never will be experimentally) but when I CONFESS my sin, HE's faithful and just to forgive/cleanse.

speaking only for myself.. it is not unusual for me to say out loud to me ... reba you know that is not Christlike .. knock it off.. or here i often delete a post in the draft mode.,.. I pray Lord help me through this day let me help some one some how.. let me be a blessing to some one..

Not as Christ like as i wish..
IF you mean how do i deal with a persons confession, for that i discern or judge if there is sincerity or just bragging... go on from there hopefully as He leads. Each person being different..
It says in the good book that men who are like christ are false idols

Matthew 1:21 King James Version

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Follow Yeshua Messiah/Jesus Christ. A person that is Sinning or has inclination to Sin is not saved.

Christians (like everybody) else have a HUMAN NATURE. Christians, however, are also infilled with The Holy Spirit, and their "Old Man" human nature has been Crucified with Christ on the cross. However it's up to the CHristian to "mortify the deeds of the flesh, and render the OLD NATURE ineffective. the idea is that as you "Learn of Jesus" you will be progressively sanctified, and become more SPIRIT led, and less Flesh driven. The mechanism of temptation and sin is detailed in James 1.

As Christians how do you tackle this sin nature you have.
My "sin nature" was killed with the old me, at my water baptism into Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins. (Rom 6:3-6)
When I was raised with Christ to walk in newness of life, I was a new creature. (Rom 6:4)
One born of God's seed, and without a "sin nature". (1 John 3:9)
It is written in 2 Cor 5:17..."Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
The "sin nature" was one of those old things.

As Christians how do you tackle this sin nature you have. Also how do you deal with other people when they reveal their sin nature to you?

I dont see a one answer fits all to the question..

There is one answer to this question to the first question - and as Christians we should all know that answer!!

The answer is Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have Jesus Christ with us at all times!

Specifically we have His Holy Spirit in us and the Holy Spirit talks to us!!! His sheep hear His voice - which is the Holy Spirit speaking to our spirit! The Holy Spirit does not speak on His own, but as He hears from our Lord Jesus Christ (the Word of God) He speaks to us - thereby acting like a living phone line to Jesus Christ, who supposedly we call our Lord (someone who gives us instructions)

So if we have questions - say like :
As Christians how do you tackle this sin nature you have. Also how do you deal with other people when they reveal their sin nature to you?

we simply can take them to Jesus Christ (our One answer) and find out what we need to do in that situation!!!

Maybe I am not being sensitive enough by writing this explanation down - but that is the simple answer. I don't see how it is an answer that every Christian knows, but perhaps that is just me. To me, is just seems extremely obvious that if and since I have Jesus Christ, The Word of God, with me and as one of His sheep who hear His voice I would of course turn to Him and ask Him how to handle things like presented in the OP. So the amazing thing to me is that this is not obvious to everyone posting - with the exception - and this is important for this part of the forum - with the exception of unbelievers or newer Christians!!

So it is ok for a person to ask that question. Perhaps they don't fully understand what it really means to have Jesus Christ is their life. If means that God is with you at all time. So my amazement is really concerning those reply like expect and well seasoned mature Christians, who think Jesus is not our One answer - how does that happen??

The fact is that we are all sinners!! So what do I care about other's sinful nature, since we all have that. What I care about is trying to listen to the Lord and do what He asks me. He asked me to come and make a post for Him. He specifically asked that I make it on this thread. Yet the above thoughts are mine.

As for Him - He says, "Tell them the He loves them!" and He added "And you might want to preach Him as the Word of God."
