This is off topic somewhat I know, but I have to tell it here.
A few months ago,the neighbors across the street aways plumbing busted. The lady came to ask me to help fix it.
The very next time I drove up into the Churches parking lot,a member (who must have been out front waiting for me),walks...
Well ya know,I had the picture of the pharisees in my mind when starting this thread. They came up with all kinds of rules and such. Today,SOME Churches demand you wear a suit and tie,a certain blazer with their emblem on it.I could go on and on. If someone sees my car at the liquor store I must...
Hi Eugene.
That is a good point. And I have looked at that way before as well. The trial in his flesh could also mean the people didn't harbor any ill-will towards because of his past,as some often do today. I could be totally wrong though.
Most believe however, that it was his eyesight because...
Hi brother,
As I stated, smoking was just the first example to pop in my head. I am sure there are many examples, since most everyone has their idea of what sins are or are not. My thoughts were, that aside from what is clearly defined in scripture as sin,a lot of folk want to tack on,or invent...
I will go back to the thoughts I had in mind when beginning this thread, though I may not have listed them.
I feel that when I was converted,my sins were forgiven and I am under Grace. But this is just the start of the Rebirth process.
The scriptures I find for holding these ideas are...
11Cor. 12:7-9
Concerning Paul's thorn, I have heard many possibilities,namely,bad eyesight,or a bad leg/limp.
Here are my thoughts,..............And this is just my OPINION.
Before he was converted,he persecuted the Christians to no ends.Even consented to Stephen's death, Acts 8:1
To live the...
No need to be testy brother,it's just that we have different viewpoints.
I interpret some scripture different from you, that's all.
11Cor.12:7 where Paul is buffeted by satan, and another verse, which escapes me,where he turned one over to satan that he might learn, leads me to believe that satan is...
I thought that I was pretty straight forward, but I will do it different:
If I felt that I was predestined to eternal life,or some specific calling in the future. Then I would have the belief, that no matter what I did in life,it is okay with God. Which in turn would become pride,and...
When one believes he/she was predestined to eternal life, that person also has to believe no matter what, come hell or high water they are saved. No matter what sins they commit along the way(if they believe that anything is sin to them), Heaven is there home.Which leads to pride and...
The contradiction comes into play as to the meaning of tongues. Is 1 Cor 14 speaking of languages or ecstatic speech?
Whether a person believes in speaking with other tongues or no,it will not effect his/her salvation.
When you read Rev 12 with the spiritual eye and not the physical it's easy to understand. If you always read the scriptures physically, where it tells of the beast rising out of the sea,you can have Cecil the lovesick sea Serpent rising up off the coast of New York. Just my opinion.
"Instead of God killing satan at that point along with all that followed him,He came up with a plan." would suggest God does everything on the fly. I'm pretty sure his plan was in place before he created anything.
I have been bless in more ways I can count in my lifetime. To list them all would take up so much space,it wouldn't be possible.
But my greatest blessing is my daughter. She is my whole life, physically speaking. I have grown sons with families of their own and good jobs. But this girl is...
