I was not encouraging him to head out and try to be a leader, just encouraging him to follow his calling, that does not mean he should expect to be leading others, but waiting until he is perfect will never get him started
Hi Blake,
I understand, I think, where yu are coming from. You are looking at your life and seeing everything that failed to hit the standard you have set for yourself, a standard that I would suggest is not required in God's economy.
Let me ask you a question which I hope will lead you to...
Hmmm tricky question Classik, in all honesty I do not know the way forward, but to quote a TV advert strap line that was popular a few years back in the UK - I know a man who does, Jesus is the way, we just need to follow Him and stop worrying over who He intends to share heaven with.
Ask...
Thanks for your kind words, in regard to your final question, I am assuming you are not suggesting that a lawyer actually nailed Christ to the cross, but the truth is that figuritively we ALL nailed Him to that cross.
It was our sin that put Him on that cross, or at least it was our sin that...
Solution to what?
If you seek a solution to sin, we all already have it - Jesus provided it.
If it is a solution to this stupidity of trying to play god and exclude certain groups of people from heavenm then I am afraid there is no solution - people have always been stupid and we all like to...
My suggestion is to read So You Don't Want To Go To Church Anymore by Wayne Jacobsen, and then follow that with Finding Church.
I love the way Wayne focusses on the good in every enciunter and discards the bad parts. If that is cafeteria Christianity I will take some, I am certainly tired of...
Not really Reba, you see I honestly believe that none of us is holy enough to cast doubt on another persons snactity or otherwise. Doesnt scripture say None are holy, not one?
Why single out lawyers, why not all the other cheating lying people and professions, why not mercenary soldiers or...
Hmmm I think there is a very great danger of generalising here, I have worked in dispute resolution around the world for over 20 years and I have met and worked with a lot of lawyers, most of them are as honest as the day is long. They may have cases that are wrong but they try to do the best...
Okay, I will weigh in on this, my hobbies are trying to play golf, reading, watching rugby union, eating out with friends, walking and wine :)
Not necessarily in that order.
Hmmm interesting question.
For me I have found that God will use multiple sources to first get my attention, which is sometimes not so easy as I get focussed on my own agenda far too easily, and then to 'speak' to me.
The way this often manifests is that something will stand out as I am...
Hi Bill, from one newbie to another :)
To respond to your question - what I think I need to grow in Christ is fellowship with other believers in Him. That fellowship need not be in pperson, but I know that my heart grows bigger and closer to Him when I interact with other believers.
Greetings one and all, my name is Pete and I live in the UK.
Yes I am male and I am 59 years old.
I was baptised as a baby and raised in the RC faith for 15 years after which I entered my rebellious phase and walked away from Christianity.
I rediscovered faith at the age of 33 after the death...
