I agree. If the Rangers are sellers then Lucroy should get us a few respectable prospects back. Hope he keeps doing well at the plate. Bring back Bobby Wilson until our prospects are ready. With Cheerios hitting decent and great results with pitchers he's fine until something better comes from within.

Well Lucroy is gone and they got the infamous "player to be named later" which is about the equivalent of a bag of used pucks. We give away 3 decent prospects and get very little if any in return we should get at least someone who is a decent prospect or 2 I would think, oh well another Garza trade I'm so tired of those...

Now it looks like Jeffress is gone back to the Brewers for a AA RHer...

http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2017/07/31/rangers-trade-jeremy-jeffress-back-to-the-brewers/

Yes, and I will pay for his 1st class ticket back.

There are rumors the reason Lucroy went for a PTBNL is by MLB rules certain level minor league players cannot be a 'named name'. Here's what I got from the Hoopla site:

Hitzges was speculating that the PTBNL for Lucroy has already been determined, but can't be announced.

Some of ya may know this, but according to Norm, "if the trade includes a player/players which were just drafted then it can't be announced until after the WS."

Minor league SS/3rd baseman drafted in the 2nd round (48th pick) - Ryan Vilade, and/or the sandwich pick Tommy Doyle (pitcher) from U of VA (70th pick).

If we got 2 guys drafted this high for Lucroy then job well done.

Yu to Dodgers for questionable return.

The headliner is another slugger who is average to below average on defense.

JD clearly did not get a prospect we needed. Like a SP prospect.

This guy has been tied to Darvish somewhat because they are good friends. The thought is where Yu goes this guy just might follow if so look for the Rangers to be big players in resigning Yu in the offseason...

The Rangers already have good contacts/relations with a lot of people in S, America now, maybe they are making some in Japan too...

It was a tough call for the Rangers. They have hovered around .500 since May, well out of the American League West race but within striking distance of a Wild Card spot. Ultimately, Daniels made the call to help replenish the Rangers' higher-level farm teams. They received three ranked prospects in outfielder Willie Calhoun, right-hander A.J. Alexy and infielder Brendon Davis. MLBPipeline.com rated Calhoun as the Rangers' No. 2 prospect, Alexy at No. 19 and Davis 29th.

"You don't get those opportunities a lot," Daniels said. "Bit of a challenging call to make. But ultimately we decided that the package that we got, these three young players, was over the line for us."

And the Dodgers have money to burn and will make it so for Shohei Otani to be with Darvish. We will never see him again other than pitching against us in interleague play.

Time will tell. Calhoun has the most promise, but we already have a farm full of young sluggers. Not so many who are batting over .300 though. So I see Calhoun as a possible lure for a team deep in pitching to trade with to exchange farm hands. On the off season of course.

Now our current rotation is Cole Hamels and......wow

I guess that all depends of it Yu wants to be drowned in money or not, to some the money isn't that important being with family is...

Looks like Joey is finally getting his act together:

Joey Gallo has played every inning of every Rangers game since July 25, batting .313/.411/.896 with nine home runs and a 52 percent fly ball rate. Remarkable, considering he has done so despite the majors' 10th-highest strikeout rate during that time -- he has whiffed roughly once every three trips to the plate -- and started at three different positions: five times at first base, twice at third, seven in left field.

He's hit 2 more homers since the above was written...

He's been on fire. Joey told Emily in an interview he has been tested twice in the past two weeks because of his outburst of power. Lol are they doing that for the Yankee slugger?
So the season is pretty much in the down column. However, watching Gallo and Beltre may just be worth watching.

It's not like Gallo and Judge are guys my size both are at least 5" taller and 50lbs heavier, MLB and their silliness. :screwloose Makes you wonder if they're testing Smoak too since he's having a breakout year???

Seen Perez finally pitched a decent game last night, he claims it's because he watched film of himself but you gotta wonder if it wasn't because of Nicholas calling the game? Guess we'll see if Banny agrees and has Nick as his catcher next time out, won't hurt to see and may even help save the season only 4 back in the WC...

Did you watch the game last night? If so did you see Joeys HR? It looked like it (MLB Channel replay) clanged off the facing of the upper deck roof!! Wow is all I can say...

Oh BTW the Phillies called up Alfaro about 10 days ago and he's doing pretty good so far...

Saw the highlights. Wow the one tonight was a monster.

Glad they kept him up.

Good to see Alfaro get big league time. Nick Williams has been up for a few weeks and doing well.

Another Gallo HR tonight. This one a la Dave Kingman skyrocket. #35. He keeps this up he may get to 45 this season.

Lol only 2.5 out of second WC. We can hope. :)

You should check out the replay from the NYY/NYM game last night Judge hit one up into section 536 of the upper deck, what a monster. :eek2 It's going to be a lot of fun watching Gallo and Judge hitting moon balls for the next 15 years or so, I can't wait. And Giancarlo is doing a pretty good of keeping up with them, he might opt out of his contract would be interesting to see where he ends up...
