What a wonderful day You have presented to us, O Lord! I thank You for this gift, as it is yet another opportunity to share Your precious love with others. And I give all praise to You, for You bless us in such immeasurable and joyful ways.

You know my heart, Lord God; You know the sincerity of my prayers for all who waver in their dedication to You or who choose the way of this world instead of Your way. In answer to my supplications, You comforted me with John 12: 35-43:

“35 So Jesus said to them, “For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. 36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of Light.â€

"These things Jesus spoke, and He went away so many and hid Himself from them. 37 But though He had performed signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him. 38 This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?†39 For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, 40 “He has blinded their eyes and He hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and be converted and I heal them.†41 These things Isaiah said because he saw His glory, and he spoke of Him. 42 Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.â€

Lord God, I pray that all who seek recognition in this world to listen with their hearts, to hear You, in order to live in the manner that follows You and Your Word. That they surrender themselves to Your loving and gentle correction, so they will honor You. Heal them, O Lord, just as You heal each of Your sons and daughters, according to Your will.

Redirect their inward focus so they will know Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, as it is only through Your Son that we are able to become sons and daughters to You. For as John 12 continues, in verses 44-50:

“44 And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me. 45 He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. 46 I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. 47 If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. 49 For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. 50 I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.â€

Lord, touch their hearts so they no longer reject You. Bring them within Your loving embrace and guide their path, just as You lovingly guide us. And unite us all in Christian fellowship, so we may comfort and teach one another.

Through Your amazing grace, You have forgiven us and provided us with salvation through Your beloved Son. And it is in His name, the precious name of Jesus Christ, that I sing praises of thanksgiving to You this day. Amen.
Day 22 -
(All Scripture references: NASB)

Yes, Amazing grace, like you say, AirDancer.

'Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.'

Blessings.

“Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)

My heart soars with praise, O Lord, for You are perfect in Your love for us; Your faithfulness is constant; You are just in all You do for us. The desires of our hearts are to love You and to follow Your instructions, as provided in Scripture. We yearn to turn away from our sinful ways so we may be found worthy before You.

But as with mankind throughout the Old Testament, many men today have not changed. Just as in the days of Moses, many of our government leaders, our ministers and our church elders have not kept Your laws or paid attention to Your commandments. Even as You have admonished them – and us – to return their focus to You and Your Word, they have not turned away from their errors and have not returned to You. (Nehemiah 9)

They rule and teach that sinful behavior is acceptable; they pander to those in the world. More and more, they are creating a world that erases personal responsibility. They claim to seek what is best for us, but their deceitful ways have strong strings that tie us as slaves to them. They proclaim love towards us, a false love that, in reality, seeks to divide us and drive us apart in aggressive hostility and envy.

Your sons and daughters strive to stand firm with You and Your Word, Lord God. Daily, though, there are those who tempt with ear tickling, with partial truths, with false teachings. They cause the young in their walk with You to stumble; they persuade more to do nothing other than await for the immediate return of Your Son, for the time of final judgment.

We are, each of us, held responsible for our behavior, for our service to Your great commission, for our individual faithfulness. I pray for Your mercy, for Your strength, and Your continued guidance during these trying times, O Lord. Grant to us the wisdom to discern truth from pretty lies; allow us to further the sharing of Your amazing love and honest Word; grace us with humbleness so we do not puff up in arrogant disregard for our brothers and sisters in Christ and those who seek You.

And I fervently pray that our government leaders and church leaders return to You, Lord God. Touch their hearts so they feel the truth of Your Word. Open their eyes so they see the honesty in Your Word. And broaden their shoulders so they accept responsibility to keep Your commandments. And lengthen their arms, so they can embrace You in totality.

For as Your Son proclaimed in Mark 9:23: “…All things are possible to him who believes.” Lord, I fully believe in You and in Your promises to us. And though some have said that my prayers during these 40 days - prayers that are far-reaching to include the falsehoods of our church leaders and our government leaders - are not according to Your will, even Your Son Jesus stated: “This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer.” (Mark 9:29)

And it is in His name, the precious name of Jesus Christ, that I pray to You this day. For You are my delight, my rock, and my joy, forever! Amen.

Day 23 -
(All Scripture references: NASB)

Yes. delight is a good word.

'O may these hallowed pages be my ever, dear delight!
And still new beauties may I see, and still increasing light.'

(Anne Steele)

20 You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name. 21 He is your praise and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen. 22 Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons in all, and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.” (Deuteronomy 10:20-22)

Aye, Lord, You are our praise, for You love and keep us in steadfastness. You retain us in Your embrace even as You guide us. And You provide the means for Your sons and daughters to connect, so we may offer support, comfort and brotherly love to one another. I pray this day that we will unite as one voice to offer all honor and glory and joy to You, for You, Lord God, are our everything!

I also pray for my nation this day. So much angry hostility and envy permeate the very air throughout the land. Death threats have been voiced and warnings of violence have been uttered as the election nears. Those who have sworn to protect their fellow citizens have been forced to prepare in the event that mobs take to the streets in brutal protest. It is not just the everyday citizen who faces risks; aggressive harm has been promised towards our elected officials and those who seek office.

It was forewarned of troubling times like this in Psalm 36: 1-4: “Transgression speaks to the ungodly within his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. 2 For it flatters him in his own eyes concerning the discovery of his iniquity and the hatred of it. 3 The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he has ceased to be wise and to do good. 4 He plans wickedness upon his bed; he sets himself on a path that is not good; he does not despise evil.”

They refuse to live in You and according to Your Word. Their hearts have been rendered apart; their eyes have been shuttered from seeing to the welfare of their fellow men. Lord, God, I pray for Your healing touch to those who seek to do violence. Turn them away from their wicked thoughts and bring them into Your loving arms.

At the same time, O Lord, I pray for Your protection, that Your sons and daughters will continue to do Your will in peace and security. And, through Your loving kindness and perfect ways, that we are able to reach those who have not joined as part of Your family.

"Praise the Lord, all nations; laud Him, all peoples! 2 For His loving kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord is everlasting. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 117)

It is in the precious name of Jesus Christ, that I pray from my heart to You this day and always. Amen.

Day 24 -

(All Scripture references: NASB)

There's always something relevant from the Psalms. Such a range of experience, all recorded for us.

I agree. The Book of Psalms is one of my favorites; and our Lord always guides me to the one He wants me to read...it's amazing!

Blessed be Your name, Lord God, for Your loving kindness protects and keeps us!

O Lord, Your infinite grace has opened our eyes, so we can discern those who have crept into our midst for the purpose of temptation. May we continue the ability to identify these deceivers, whose wily means offer persuasions by partial truths and misleading additions to Your instructions. May we be in strong and righteous stance in order to expose them for precisely what they are.

Your Word has given us the inspired writings of Jude which, in a mere 25 verses, arm us with due caution against these ungodly persons who twist, turn and spin Your grace into licentiousness and deny our Lord, Jesus Christ. These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage. They defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile the things which they do not understand.

Some of those who do not love and follow You are easy to identify. However, there are many who ever-so-smoothly caress with false charm. With false words, their promises flow easily from hearts filled with lies. They rebuke Your sons and daughters, casting us as the counterfeit ones who neither know nor obey Your Word.

Against them, O Lord, allow us to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to our ancestors in You. Guide us, so we may (22) have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh. Guide us in Your way, so we may say “The Lord rebuke you,” as Michael the archangel did, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses. (9)

I sing praises to You, Lord God, for You have made known to us Your Word. Your strength prevents us from stumbling; Your loving faithfulness braces us so we may continue to do Your commission. I pray this in the beloved name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Day 25 -

(All Scripture references: NASB)

Salutations and felicitations, O Lord! I praise and thank You for granting to us another wonderful day, another opportunity to be a reflection of Your ever-enduring love for mankind.

Today, You guided the pages to Titus 3 as I prayed. Aye, Lord God, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ, that we may each recall to mind that our focus is on You first and foremost. Your Word delivers instructions on how we are to live our lives in service to You, to illuminate this world with Your Light, so all can see truth from falsehoods. We are humbled by the aide memoire that we, too, were once rebellious and living in opposition to how You wanted us to live.

For as Titus 3 begins: "Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,2 to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all me. 3 For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to nvarious lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

Each day Your sons and daughters strive to follow You more close, more loving, more obedient. Daily, challenges are presented; obstacles are placed before us with the objective to cause us to stumble. Strengthen us, I pray to You, O Lord, so we can remain steadfast in our walk with You. Allow Your Holy Spirit to give us the words to speak to the hearts of those who wish us ill. Guide us, so we can “…avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. (Titus 9)

When those in governmental authority dictate against Your word, provide us with the resolve to voice correction. And whether it is our neighbor, elected official, church leader, or even someone who claims You have chosen them… if they attempt to persuade us in the acceptance of falsehoods, lead us to “10 Reject a factious man after a first and second warning,11 knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.

More and more, the world shows opposition to You and Your Word. I pray, O Lord, that You continue to provide us with the means to bring healing and truth – Your truth – to those who do not accept You. Assist us as we seek to bring them into fellowship with You, for Your faithful love can adjust their attitudes and open their eyes to Your steadfast reality.

You know my concerns even as I do; and You always answer, sometimes immediately, sometimes later, but always in Your time and always according to Your will. Joyfully, I praise Your grace and constancy! I pray this in the beloved name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Day 26 -

(All Scripture references: NASB)

In summary: 'Thy Word is truth' (John 17.17) and the Lord Jesus makes it clear that it is the Word, the Scriptures, that are the means of sanctification in the believer's life, by the Spirit.

Greetings, Lord God, on this wonderful day that You made!

In the midst of the upheaval that was the 1960s, a song of praise to You spent 3 weeks in the top position of the Top 40 charts. First debuting on the charts on 6 November 1965, ‘Turn! Turn! Turn!’ by the Byrds reminded everyone for 11 weeks (and through the years since) of the precious words found in Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8:

“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven—
2 A time to give birth and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
3 A time to kill and a time to heal;
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4 A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
5 A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing.
6 A time to search and a time to give up as lost;
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
7 A time to tear apart and a time to sew together;
A time to be silent and a time to speak.
8 A time to love and a time to hate;
A time for war and a time for peace.”

While the Byrds altered some of these wise words to ones of synonym for rhyme and rhythm, the strength of Your message did not change: You remain constant while the events of our lives, in each generation, ebb and flow.

Never once does Your Word lend credence that our lives will be completely free from harm or sadness. Nor does Your Word avow that prosperity is guaranteed ours. There is nothing false in Your Word.

Instead, You reassure us with the truthful certainty that there is a time for every event under heaven. You are amazing, Lord God!

As I continue to pray for Your sons & daughters, for our government, elected officials, and church leaders, I give You praise and honor for always being with us, in both the good events and the not so good. Your steadfastness brings great comfort to us, O Lord. And we know that, regardless of how the upcoming election turns out, Your love will strengthen each of us so we may further do Your commission.

With the Byrds tribute to You echoing in my brain, I pray this in the beloved name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Day 27 -

(All Scripture references: NASB)

I sing with praises to You, O Lord God, for You have brought me to this day!

Daily, I learn of more treachery against Your sons and daughters. As prayers continue for healing – of this land and of our fellow citizens – I seek Your protection for all of us during these times of trials and tribulations.

The assaults directed against Your children come from some of those we have selected as our congregations’ leaders. They spread falsehoods as though they are Your truths; they have smoothly introduced teachings that are in opposition to Your Word. Your young children, and those who seek You, stumble when these liars feed their congregations with tainted food. Some of Your older children do not always employ discernment when listening to deceptions that are wrapped in seeming sincerity.

But it is not only within our churches are Your sons and daughters facing woes. Additionally, some of our elected officials have shunned You, Lord God, and Your Word. They create means to dishonor You for their own purposes. They, too, persuade with velvet-wrapped falsehoods in their attempts to undermine Your instructions.

Of those individuals who rage against the brothers and sisters in Christ, O Lord, Scripture has described and forewarned in Psalm 64:

“2 Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers,</SPAN>
From the tumult of those who do iniquity,
3 Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword.
They aimed bitter speech as their arrow,
4 To shoot from concealment at the blameless;
Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.
5 They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose;
They talk of laying snares secretly;
They say, “Who can see them?â€
6 They devise injustices, saying,
“We are ready with a well-conceived plotâ€;
For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep.â€

I pray today for Your intervention on our behalf. Strengthen our resolve, that we may stand firm for You. Rescue us from the mires that threaten our walk, and place our feet firmly on solid rocks that are the very foundation of Your Word. Disarm them and strike fear in their hearts, so they will turn their focus and their lives to You. Heal them, as You heal us, and bring them into true fellowship with You.

For You are our rock and our salvation; through You, Lord God, all things are possible. With open and joyful heart, I pray this in the beloved name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Day 28 -
(All Scripture references: NASB)

It is such a glorious feeling when awakening and immediately recalling Psalm 118:24: “This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Aye, O Lord, we rejoice and sing praises to You, for You have gifted us with another day, another day to do Your commission!

Today I pray especially for my land and the people within it. Lord God, You know the conditions that face each of us. I pray for Your protection for us, and for Your wise guidance as millions prepare to vote. There are localities that have already encountered problems with the processing of early votes. There are threats, both accomplished and promised, to intimidate those who intend to cast their ballots. O Lord, there have been numerous death threats towards some who seek office.

I stand on Your promises that You are with Your sons and daughters, that You will protect us in times of peril:

“For He will give His angels charge concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.
12 They will bear you up in their hands,
That you do not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you will trample down.” (Psalm 91: 11-13)

With humble prayer, I cry out to You, that You will provide us with the safe means to honor the responsibility we each have been entrusted, to voice with our ballot the demand to our elected officials that we seek this land to return to Your ways, to Your instructions, to Your blessings. I also pray that You will rebuke all those who seek violence during these days and those yet to come. I pray this in accordance to Your will, O Lord.

Bring peace to us during our time of concerns, according to Psalm 5: 11-12:

“But let all who take refuge in You be glad,
Let them ever sing for joy;
And may You shelter them,
That those who love Your name may exult in You.
12 For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O Lord,
You surround him with favor as with a shield.”

With all praise and songs of thanksgiving, we cherish our walk with You, Lord God. For “You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble;You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. (Psalm 32:7)

Humbly, yet with jubilation, I pray this in the precious name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Day 29 -

(All Scripture references: NASB)

Lord God, there are many who are in service to You. On daily basis, we seek to share Your word through action, whether in prayer, oral or written form. O Lord, Your sons and daughters need the protection that only You can make possible. I pray for Your shield of safety, that those of evil intent are repelled. Lift our hearts in joyful praise for Your loving kindness as we claim the promises of which Your Word speaks. Keep our purpose in step with the path You have placed before us.

Remove the threats that cause us concern. Rebuke those of darkened minds who conspire against You and Your family. Grace us with Your blessings, that we may stand strong against those who rejoice when any of us stumbles. And, Lord God, I pray that You bring correction to any who, in innocence, offer solace to those whose goal is for corruption, for destruction, and for death.

My Lord, we are under deliberate attack from those who follow the path of death. They walk with false feet, presenting themselves in ways that hide their blackened hearts. When revealed and rebuked, they slither away. But they do not remain hidden for long. Their service to their liar of liars binds them to wickedness, to evil, to grave harm.

O Lord God, I beseech Your loving kindness to us. For Your protection, and through prayer, the means to show Your mercy to those who seek our eternal deaths. Grant to us Your discernment, so we may recognize those with evil in their hearts. Keep us free from false accusations; and place us on firm ground, with our focus entirely on You. Strengthen the young in Your family, that they will not slip and stumble in their walk with You. Place Your loving arms around us, O Lord, to provide shelter from the onslaught of evil attack. Engage Your angels to assist us in this ongoing battle.

There is one person in particular for who I offer extra prayer. This person was verbally assaulted by one who does evil in opposition to You. My Lord God, I pray especially that You give additional blessings and comfort to ease the concerns now held. Bring the peace and joy to this person as only You can grant. Your loving kindness and faithfulness will heal this child who belongs to You, according to Your Word to us. I thank and praise You for all You do for us, and for all You will do for this person.

Hear my prayers, O Lord. Your know the depths and extent of my concerns for Your sons and daughters. In humble supplication, I ask for Your help, in accordance to Your will, and in the name of our beloved Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Lord. Amen.

Day 30 -

Greetings this day, Lord God; my heart soars because You are with us! Your love is constant; it doesn’t change towards us even when we are less than what we should be.

Today my prayers focus on our elected officials and those who seek office. For far too many years, Your family has seen many men and women elected to office; people who do not walk with You, O Lord. The long-term affect is realized now, with laws and decisions made that are in opposition to Your Word.

I pray for Your guidance as we prepare to vote, so we may cast our ballots for those who have favor with You. Free us from blindness, that we may clearly see which candidate follows You and will continue to do so.

Those who eventually will be chosen to serve us, the citizens of this country, I pray that You bring them into alignment with Your Word. That their hearts know Your; that their ears hear Your voice. O Lord, Your sons and daughters fervently pray that through You, we are able to bring about the proper changes, so our land can return to Your full favor and blessings.

There are times when it appears to be a daunting challenge that we face in our efforts. Still, we know we can take comfort from Your promises in Isaiah 40: 28-31:

28 Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.
29 He gives strength to the weary,
And to him who lacks might He increases power.
30 Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
31 Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.”

Such beautiful assurances You provide to us! Truths that keep us as we persevere to do Your will. Perfect support as we prepare to vote. And marvelous grace that will return Your blessings to this country.

O Lord, I am humbled by Your awesomeness. Through You, all things are possible, including the willingness to guide us as we cast our votes for officials who love You and follow Your Word. Including the turning of faces and hearts of elected officials to You. Including the pledge of eagles wings so we may soar with strength to do Your will. You truly are a most wonderful Father!

In accordance to Your will, and in the name of our beloved Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Lord, I pray to You this day. Amen.

Day 31 -

(All Scripture references: NASB)

You never fail to amaze me, O Lord. You present the exact Scripture I need in the most unusual ways! I sing praises for Your abundant blessings and for Your eye-catching means of messaging.

Today, it was so incredibly obvious that You gave response to my prayers and concerns for all of Your children with Psalm 91:

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!”
3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
And from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.” (Psalm 91: 1-4)

What perfect love You hold for Your sons and daughters! As our prayers have focused on all who will legally vote as well as for our elected officials, our church leadership and those who seek office, You so wonderfully assure us that Your faithfulness truly is a shield and bulwark to all who call Your name. Amen!

You are such an awesome God!

We follow and love You, O Lord. We willingly accept the wisdom and guidance You provide for us. We will continue to lift up each other, and pray for our elected officials and church leaders. And we will proceed forth, always seeking You, content in studying Your Word, and with sharing Your love with all we come into contact.

Because You are our refuge and our fortress, I joyfully pray this day, in accordance to Your will, and in the name of our beloved Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Lord. Amen.

Day 32 -

(All Scripture references: NASB)

I praise You, Lord God, for Your protection of all who are affected by Hurricane Sandy. I pray that You strengthen them, so they do not allow their faith to be shaken. Lift them up in joyful elation that You have kept them safe. As this storm continues its wrath, wrap Your loving arms around everyone, from East Coast to West Coast, from the Caribbean to Canada, and warm our hearts and minds with the knowledge we belong to You.

As with the rainbows You presented to many along the East Coast today, Your Word also assures us: “And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.” (Galatians 3:29) Now more than ever, I pray for Your guidance so we are able to keep our focus on You.

Lovingly encourage us in our walk with You, O Lord. Touch our hearts with the steadfast reminder which Paul addressed in Galatians 3: 26-28:

26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (emphasis mine)

Unite us, Lord God, so that different interpretations of Your Word are eliminated. Admonish in Your faithful way when we edge towards pettiness or display behavior that does not reflect Your love in us. For we cannot help each other – as well as those who do not have faith in You – if we are divided.

We come together with our neighbors in times of peril. Lord God, I pray that we will continue that togetherness at all times to come. Heal the hurts that have been the cause of some of the aloofness from each other; correct the thinking that separate us.

Because we are all one in Christ Jesus, it is in His precious name that I humbly pray to You this day. Amen.

Day 33 -

(All Scripture references: NASB)

To You, O Lord, I lift up praises of thanksgiving for all You do for us. You bestow Your incredible grace upon us, even when we feel unworthy. Your love is steadfast, and I cannot thank You enough for this most amazing blessing!

In humble prayer, Lord God, I ask for Your protection. Your sons and daughters face many in our societies who wish us harm. They neither love nor honor You; they therefore do what they can to make us stumble away from You. They weave methods and means in which to try to ensnare us. And many of these who seek the worst for us were elected by us, whether in a societal election or in our fellowships.

“8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.” (1 Peter 5: 8-9)

Your Word clearly forewarns us of the perils that await us if we are not attentive. But there are times with the adverse activities against us are covert, cloaked in shadowy ways that make it difficult to ascertain clearly. These are the traps – the laws, the teachings – which can entangle us as we try to discern the truth in the situation.

O Lord, I pray You continue to guide us and keep us, that You further open our eyes, hearts and minds so we are able to more quickly know the truth as we face challenges to our faith. Shelter us within Your loving embrace when times are more threatening; set our feet onto firm rocks when slippery ground is near. And, Lord God, encourage us each to make daily progress in accomplishing Your great commission.

To You, all the glory and honor and love belong! I say this day’s prayer in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

Day 34 -

(All Scripture references: NASB)

We should indeed be thankful for rescue workers also who braved the elements and put themselves in harm's way to help people in need during the stormy weather.
