Is there something new? I seem to recall three boys thrown into a fiery furnace because the "powers that were", did not want their kind of worship around.

they banned all chaplains. and some wonder why im almost for the banishment of public schools.

I understand.Private schools are expensive and to homeschool is time consuming.
I wish more churches did have schools here. we have some but not enough. private religious school are about 8k a year at the most. still its not cheap and nor available to all. single parents wouldn't be able to do that.

We need Christian students and teachers in public schools. Who will reach the lost ones if we all avoid them by going to private schools. Students should be able to express their religion as loud as they want. I think teachers should be able to express their religion but not teach it directly to any students.

good luck with that. common core is going to be a hard fight. I don't think the lee county school system will last. all the state has to do is, ok,no money from us since you stopped common core the lee county will have to raise taxes to make up the difference. good luck with that. I think lee county is really small. nevermind, that any county that is on common core could also say we wont respect lee's school system classes.im not for common core. I just think its for the states to fight the feds. its akin to me failing to obey a lawful order for a war I don't agree with.

Luckily common core is not being used in the district I'm in yet.

I hate common core but here in my county which is near orange county its a big money issue. I wont derail the thread with that.

And while we're discussing this on the other side of the coin this has been going on..

In the 70 percent of Texas public schools where a private curriculum has been installed, students are learning the “fact” that “Allah is the Almighty God,” charge critics of a new online curriculum that already is facing condemnation for its secrecy and restrictions on oversight.

The program, called CSCOPE, is a private venture operating under the umbrella of the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative, whose incorporation documents state its independence from the State Board of Education of the Texas Education Agency.

Other reports previously have raised alarm over the curriculum’s depiction of the Boston Tea Party as a terrorist act on par with the 9/11 attack.

BRENTWOOD, CA (ANS) -- As children return to school this week, following the Christmas break, 7th graders in a growing number of public schools, who are not permitted to wear a cross or speak the name of Jesus, will be required to attend an intensive three week course on Islam; a course in which students are mandated to learn the tenets of Islam, study the important figures of the faith, wear a robe, adopt a Muslim name and stage their own Jihad.

tob

*edit: forgot something "again"

The handouts used in this course, obtained by ANS, are considerable. They include a history of Islam and the life of Muhammad its founder.

Muhammad is portrayed as an extremely moral man who wanted a society of purity. A vast body of historical accounts will refute this image. Historians will show that he had multiple wives, a sexual problem, and among his wives, he took a 10-year-old girl for his pleasure (some accounts list her age as 6).

And Islam promises its followers that those who become suicide bombers, killing themselves and others, will go directly to Allah’s paradise where they will be given 72 virgins for unbridled sexual pleasure for all of eternity.

Is any of this even true?, or do people post things like this just because a random website some random person ownes said it, so it must be true. Always only one side to a story. Always has to be negative.

The amount of current affairs news people post with links to websites never prove a site is authentic.

Haven't you heard? Nothing can be put on the internet that isn't true. :nono

Seen it on the internet. :yes
