can anyone show me once saved always saved, the book, the chapter ,the verse that says" once saved always saved",I marvel at how people will follow a doctrine that is not even in the Bible

about the same as the scripture that says you can never be sure of your salvation
2 Hezekiah 4:23

LOL. If there was a scripture clearly showing either side of this we wouldn't have other threads on this forum with thousands of posts of people fighting over this before being closed!

Quite a few Christians believe things that aren't in the Bible. In fact, probably most of them do. For example, can you show me where the Bible mentions the Trinity? Where does it say "God is three persons"? Or how about accepting Jesus as "your personal Lord and savior". Can you show me where that is in the Bible? Many doctrines are not explicitly mentioned in Scripture, but are derived from a number of passages. OSAS is one such doctrine. People who believe it derive it not from one verse that states it explicitly, but from many passages that imply it. Personally, I think all those passages should be interpreted differently, and I don't believe in OSAS, but that is how they arrive at that conclusion.

VERY good point that so many people miss a lot of the time. That's one of the reasons whenever I ask a question such as "Where does scripture says that's a sin?" I always try to remember to say it as "Where does scripture says that's a sin either directly or in principle?" (especially when I already know the particular thing is never specifically mentioned in scripture.) Many of our ideas on doctrine, sin, style of worship, and so many other things come much more from concepts as you are talking about here rather than from a specific verse with specific words. And that's where the disagreements can come up. Concepts are easier to interpret in different ways than are plain and clear statements. But even though some scripture can be interpreted differently to support opposing concepts, just the fact that a concept isn't spelled out word for word in the language we use today (in this case the idea of "once saved always saved") neither proves or disproves it.
