I was going to include some notations of my opinions as I sometimes do, but I wanted others to ask questions if they were interested enough to do so.

Note: The below article is still a bit new to me and I have been giving it much time and prayer for comprehension before sharing it. So, any comments and questions concerning the material will require extra cooperation, patience and prayer from the viewers also. The Lord give us to comprehend His “Word of Truth” according to the level He chooses for each, and God be blessed!

It is the desire of God for all “to be saved,” and that none “should perish” (1Ti 2:4; 2Pe 3:9), but it is the will of God that “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18). Thus, there should be useful instruction in realizing that God’s will and desire are not always synonymous.

Is God’s will being done “in earth as it is in heaven?” How is His will being done in heaven? It is being done in perfection, without the presence and effect of any sin whatsoever—and by all present! His desire concerning the resolution of sin on this earth is being done within believers, but when the Kingdom comes in its entirety, it will not involve sin at all within the believer.

His Kingdom has “come unto you” (Mat 12:28), e.g. in Christ, this world has been visited by a foretaste of the Kingdom and He is presently bringing its future residents into it (internally—Luke 17:20), but eventually He will bring the Kingdom to its residents (externally). Then God’s will shall be done on earth as it is presently being done in heaven, and such a prayer (“thy kingdom come”) will no longer be necessary.

Those who are of God will be in resurrected bodies, which will begin the Millennium (Rev 20:5), immediately followed by the last resurrection consisting of the condemned, who “lived not again (yet to be resurrected) until the thousand years were finished”; whom Satan will “gather them together to battle” (v 8); thus the “old man,” which is the source of human sin will be finally eradicated from the believer, enabling perfect service to God in every manner, devoid forever of the effect of sin.

The Teachings of the Kingdom

The teachings of the Kingdom have not been applied to men in all the ages; nay, they have not been applied to any man. Since they anticipate the binding of Satan, a purified earth, the restoration of Israel, and the personal reign of the King, they cannot be applied until God’s appointed time when these accompanying conditions on the earth have been brought to pass.

The Kingdom laws will be addressed to Israel and beyond them to all the nations which will enter the Kingdom. It will be the first and only universal reign of righteousness and peace in the history of the world. One nation was in view when the Law of Moses was in force in the earth; the individual is in view during the age of grace; and the whole social order of mankind will be in view when the Kingdom is established on the earth.

The rein of the King is never said to be ushered in by a gradual process of world improvement; it is introduced suddenly and with great violence. Satan and the satanic deception will have been removed from the earth, Israel will have realized the glory of her Covenants, and the long-awaited blessing will have come upon all the Gentiles, and upon creation itself.

The Church is not once mentioned in relation to the teachings of the Kingdom, nor are those teachings applied to her; for her part in the Kingdom is not to be reigned over, but to reign with Christ—her Head. She, being the Bride of the King, is His Consort. She will be under the heavenly teachings of grace, and her home will be in the bosom of the Bridegroom in the ivory palace of the King. The King will rule with a rod of iron. Sin and iniquity will be rebuked instantly and judged in perfect righteousness. Clear conception of the glory of the Kingdom is lost if it is confused with the age of grace.

There is a dangerous and entirely baseless sentiment abroad which assumes that every teaching of Jesus must be binding during this age simply because He said it. The fact is forgotten that the Lord Jesus, while living under, keeping and applying the Law of Moses, also taught the principles of His future Kingdom, and, at the end of His ministry and in relation to His Cross, He also anticipated the teachings of grace. If this threefold division of the teachings of Jesus is not recognized, there can be nothing but confusion of mind and consequent contradiction of truth.

The ceremonial law required for its observance the presence of Jehovah in the holy of holies, an altar, a priesthood, and a temple in Jerusalem. All these prerequisites for the observance of the ceremonial law were withdrawn at the beginning of the present age. The Church of Rome, in its attempt to continue the law system, proposed to meet this difficulty by creating its own altar, temple service and priesthood, and alleges that the Lord is present in the consecrated bread.

The teachings of grace are perfect and sufficient in themselves. They provide for the instruction of the child of God in every situation which may arise. There is no need that they be supplemented, or augmented, by the addition of precepts from either the Law of Moses or the teachings of the Kingdom.

- Dr. L. S. Chafer

netchaplain,

Brother Chafer has summed it up beautifully. Christ's everlasting Kingdom will be established on this earth (indeed throughout the universe) precisely as noted, and according to His Word, and we shall live and reign with HIm.

That is a tremendous thought and a tremendous encouragement when we are beset by persecutions and afflictions today.

chafer believed that the law would return. I didn't even make it half way and thought that was straight up scholfield.I cant debate that here so with that im not going to troll this thread. for a few years I haven't believe in a grace age that started at the cross. the first mention of grace is found in the book we call genesis. but noah found GRACE..

For Pete's sake, the entire Bible just SCREAMS Grace, from cover to cover................. if you don't try to ignore it.

I understand your meaning, and yes, God works only by grace to believers since Adam. Before Christ, it was God's Covenant of grace between Him and man through the foreshadow of Christ's Blood. Since Christ it is Covenant of grace between Him and His Son in Christ's Blood. To conclude that God's grace is the same in both dispensations would be to misunderstand the motive of God's grace and His plans for mankind in His Son.

Concerning the future Law of end time Israel, it will not be a return of the Mosaic Law, but a New Law Covenant; "I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers" (Jer 31:31, 32). In the prior covenant with Israel, God did not "put My Spirit in you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments, and do them" (Eze 36:27).

uhm that's the cross and well paul and apostles are of isreal. there is a reference to that in the gospel as being fulfilled. so how many covenants does god give? three? I don't recall jesus saying in john 6 that the temple would be the new way? remember the question? what is the place to worship god? the temple in Jerusalem or samaria. jesus said neither its YOU in the spirit with God in you. the torah allowed for worship to be both in the temple system per feasts mandated and at home and with the local congregation.

chafer I have read enough to know what he says. he says the torah will return fully with animal offerings.
http://books.google.com/books?id=4Z... teach literal millennial sacrifices&f=false

the torah isn't meant to be a memorial. its meant as a way of approaching god. while we are free to do the feasts, I cant say that I as a jewish male saved can enter into the temple if built today and offer blood for my sins that I may have to If I want to inquire of god or worship at the temple.

As I mentioned, the final covenant for unbelieving end time Israel will not be like the Torah with Moses; no temple, sacrifices or any former resemblance of it. Will be a different Law, statutes and judgments. The confusion is not understanding God's plan for the final survivors of the nation of Israel (which Scripture is not clear with) who do not yet (but will) believe, after seeing Jesus.

This is the only Biblical definition of the Kingdom of God i have found in Scripture...

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Actually grace begins at Gen 3:21 with Adam and Eve and their coats of skins, and continues on for eternity. Also Abel comes before Noah (Heb 11:4).

However, the reason Chafer would have believed that the Law (the ceremonial aspects) would be revived is because a careful reading of Ezekiel chapters 34-48 shows that this is indeed the case.... (And its Scofield).

Does that nullify grace? God forbid. Does that nullify the cross? God forbid. But there is no question that during the Millenium, and after that for eternity, Israel will be established in the land as described by Ezekiel.

While this is beyond our present comprehension, what God reveals must surely be true and surely come to pass. There has never been a Temple such as that described by Ezekiel. It is yet future. Unger's Bible Dictionary says: "It is not a description of a temple that was ever was built, but of one which is to be built in Jerusalem during the ideal spiritual and political conditions to prevail druing the Kingdom Age".

Are we talking about two different things (Rev 21:22)?

Are we talking about two different things (Rev 21:22)?

Indeed we are. At present, the New Jerusalem (called the Heavenly Jerusalem) is in Heaven (Heb 12:22-24), and there is a Temple there, where God's throne within a heavenly Sanctuary is placed, with Christ at the right hand of the Father (Heb 4:14-16; 8:1,2; 9:8,11,23-25; 10:12,13,19,20). What Rev 21:22 says is that that Heavenly Temple will no longer be necessary, and God Himself and the Lamb will become that Temple, as well as the Light of New Jerusalem and the earth (Rev 21:23,24).

This does not nullify Ezekiel's prophecy but "completes" it. God own glory will be over that temple in Jerusalem (Ezek 44:4), and all the nations will come to worship there (Rev 21:24; Ezek 37:26-28; Zech 8:20-23; 14:16). Notice the similarlity between Rev 22:2 and Ezek 47:12. There will be a mysterious link between the Heavenly Jerusalem and the future earthly Jerusalem.

Hi Malachi - "The heavenly Jerusalem" is in reference to the saints of God, who are presently the temple of God, and in "The New Jerusalem," which is an actual City (not a temple) it will be inverted because God will be our temple (Rev 21:22). The Bride (Church/Body) will be in the New Jerusalem (an actual city which will finally contain all the hosts of God, e.g. angels of God, saints of God, the Son and the Father) as it is "coming down from God out of heaven" (Rev 21:2).

As we all see the differences we have concerning our comprehension of the various passages in Revelation (and also in many other Scripture passages), it's encouraging to know that our fellowship of love keeps us from any dislikes toward one another, which is something we are to guard against when sharing our beliefs with one another, because the Enemy fails not to persist in his attempts to use this to distract us from the reason why we share what we believe--to draw closer together to one another in the bonds of the love of Christ, and to continue to be taught "the Word of truth" by the Spirit of God.

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
I agree with you.

Thank you for saying this.

Hi Beb - Nice Scriptural applicability! My present comprehension of the Kingdom of God not only pertains to that which Romans 14:17 declares to be within those who are resident of it, but is also a place which will eventually be on earth in its entirety, not just in parts, as all believers are parts in its residents.

Absolutely. That is already described in the book of Revelation. I referenced the book of Hebrews for you to note that there is also presently a Heavenly Temple within the New Jerusalem, and that is why Rev 21:22 says that in future there will be no Temple there. Also, sometime in the future an earthly temple will also come into existence, with a direct link to the New Jerusalem which comes down out of Heaven.

I agree with you.

If we translate the Word properly, into English we understand today, it would mean to rule, have authority, the right to have a place and dominion. Jesus prayed, they ruling power come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. That is God's Ability and anointing to enforce his will through anointed believers here for earth as things are in Heaven.

Thayer:
1) royal power, kingship, dominion, rule
1a) not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom

So how would you paraphrase Romans 14:17 so that the general public can understand it?

Luke 16:16
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

John taught believe in the one that comes after me.
John 1:27
He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Jesus told of the coming Holy Spirit.
John 16:7
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

To me the New Jerusalem is coming down out of heaven.
Jesus, day of Pentecost, etc.; these are the things coming down (beginning with John's declaration / prophecy).

Reading some posts; lets me know the Spirit of the living God has arrived to some extent - Jew, Gentile, male, female alike).

Coming down. Not waiting for some distant, far off in the future time (IMHO), to begin arriving.
