mswright6488 I was the immature loser that got your thread closed, sorry about that, no excuses, just passionate about the topic.

Also, to the mods - you all do a good job - and to everyone else in that thread because nope, I didn't act in brotherly love.

And, God knows that. In fact, KNEW that, before you typed the first word. AND forgave you, (and us) long before any of us got so carried away.

And all He asks is a, "Thank you", for His love, and our decision to keep on trying to do better.

You stood up for the truth. That's not losing.

My apology was for not speaking in brotherly love and therefore causing it to possibly get out of hand.

I am in no way apologizing nor calling myself a loser because of the stance I took, no way, that conversation confirmed what I was taught to be the Truth already, and I will continue walk in that Truth and share that Truth with others. It, in fact, has helped many people in my study group, to avoid possible pitfalls and to know God set up boundaries for us not to cross, and when we do cross them, it matters.
Praise God!!! :thumbsup

I'm not big on "Country", but this seems to fit here.

Restraint comes with practice.

I've found that it helps to keep this in mind.

James 1
19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;
20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Thanks, I will remember that verse. I appreciate it.

At least I had restraint enough not to pm people and call them names like some people do here.

You'd rather I called you a turkey on the open forum?

Here's something else that I keep in mind. It's not scripture but it fits.

If you can't answer a man's arguments, all is not lost; you can still call him vile names...Elbert Hubbard

People resort to name calling because it's all they have left.

Well, there is subversive innuendo. some use it quite skillfully.. But, then, they're used to doing it.

Sometimes you gotta just walk away. Jesus spells it out quite nicely.

Matthew 15
13 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”

Is that like using psychological warfare? I think so. If they can get them off on defending themselves they can get them off topic. Pretty soon it's about them and they and the discussion is forgotten.

That's exactly what it is. That may not be the motive for the name calling, but that's how it usually turns out.

Name callers lack the security of knowing they might be in error and when fault is found on their part, they act out. This behavior is quite common on school playgrounds. :)
