Jesus was also sent by the Spirit to be tempted of the devil just as we all are for we all must be tried as silver or gold.... God does not tempt us, but allows the devil to, Paul‘s thorn in his flesh was just that.
Matt 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
KJV

The devil can not do anything without God’s consent. While we may have forgiveness of sin IF we confess them before God and others. There are still the consequences of the sinful deed that still take place.
You may do something such as lie or steal and your father or mother still loves you and forgives you, but still they may or may not give you a restriction or some sort of punishment to make you see that there are consequences for our actions.
Good rewards come for good behavior and negative rewards for bad choices.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. This means, the Word became flesh and was sent to us in bodily form to not only be our sacrifice because we came up short of the glory of God, But to give us example of how to fight off the temptations of the devil’s fiery darts that keeps us living in the lower life existence of poverty, disease, corruption, immoral, hatred, anger, fear, perversions, HELL etc…
God by His grace and goodness, is giving us a grace period to receive His Word that proceeded from Him, to help raise us up in standards and integrity so that we now longer bow to the devils temptations, but know how to fight them using God’s Word. When you know Jesus and the devil comes to tempt you to lie, cheat, steal, fornicate, or any thing that is opposed to God’s Word. We are not to bow to him, but are to whip out our sWord of the Spirit which is the Word of God that we must lift up Higher over the temptation of the devil.
Thy rod and thy staff thy comfort me.
We must exalt The Christ up in every situation and bring those vain imaginations of the devils temptations to the obedience of The Word. For instance:
You see something that causes you to begin to live in fear! Fear is not of God, it actually shows that you don’t trust God to be greater than the devil. You must instantly whip out your sWord of the Spirit to counter the attack of the enemy with your mouth saying: IT IS WRITTEN:
2 Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
KJV

Or when the devil tries to tempt you to steal or lie or anything that will harm anyone or cause them loss, instantly cast those thoughts down and exalt Christ up over them holding the devils words captive to God‘s Word with the sWord of the Spirit in your mouth saying IT IS WRITTEN:
Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
KJV

Jesus made the Spirit of God once again available to indwell us and help bring us into the image of Christ. Each time we fight the good fight of faith with God’s Word exalted, it destroys the works that they devil is trying to bring into your life to cause you grief, torment, loss, agony and eventually death which is the result of sin.
Because God says His Word will not return Void. When we use His Word that He gave to us to oppose the devil’s temptations and don‘t fall for them, we can rest for God will take it from there and fight for you and the angels come and minister blessings to the over comer. We can not buy our salvation with good deeds, but the Just shall live by Faith that God and His Word are the Truth, the Way and the Life.

I had found this little piece of inspiration and it's helped me ever since...

so when I feel tempted, I just say "shut up devil! you're going to lose!!!"

The devil can not do anything without God’s consent.
Do you have a scripture for this statement, please?
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. This means, the Word became flesh and was sent to us in bodily form to not only be our sacrifice because we came up short of the glory of God, But to give us example of how to fight off the temptations of the devil’s fiery darts
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
When you know Jesus and the devil comes to tempt you to lie, cheat, steal, fornicate, or any thing that is opposed to God’s Word. We are not to bow to him, but are to whip out our sWord of the Spirit which is the Word of God that we must lift up Higher over the temptation of the devil.

holding the devils words captive to God‘s Word with the sWord of the Spirit in your mouth saying IT IS WRITTEN:
Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt
Thou shall not, never worked very well for me. But this does....
Thou shall works much better so...
1Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
1Jn 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1Jn 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Jesus made the Spirit of God once again available to indwell us
Do you think that any of the OT saints had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit?
We can not buy our salvation with good deeds, but the Just shall live by Faith that God and His Word are the Truth, the Way and the Life.
:)

Ok, so God gives the devil consent to get us. Then we use God's Word to combat the devil. God's word does not return void.

So, even though God may say to the devil Get us, He changes his mind if we use His Word.

Jesus came to destroy the Works of the devil, because God for some odd reason gives the devil permission to get us. Because God gets confused at times and tells the devil it's OK to get us, then we need Jesus, just in case.

God does not tempt us (He does try us, but not with evil) but still gives permission to the devil to get us who is the tempter.

You make sense to me. Excuse me, I need to go feed my pet Unicorns.

Brother Mike,
I must ask if you intend to stand by hind this statement of yours ?
God does not tempt us (He does try us, but not with evil) but still gives permission to the devil to get us who is the tempter.

Brother it is hard not to say another word and wait for your reply......
But if I was to say another word it might go something like this...
God does no such thing...........People do however give permission for the devil to have right to come in and begin to kill, steel and destroy........I might even say it contradicts the written word of God and your other statements in this post as well..........But I wont say a word and will wait for your reply....
Blessings.......

Your a wise man Jim, and my respect for you has greatly increased. You knowing me, gave the respect to not jump to conclusions and your perception is in tune with the Holy Spirit.

Not so much with a lot of folks around here who just assume I said something I did not, or don't have the foundation of understanding to grasp part of something I said. Worse, they don't take to the time to fully read what I posted which is most cases.

I thought I saw you on Talk Jesus (Maybe not), not sure why I stopped by there. I was a Mod there once. I see Julia is still there.

Anyway........................

Go back, read the OP.

I was using the OP's post as if I was trying to piece together what they had said, so that it would make sense to me, using "THEIR BRILLIANT" understanding of the scriptures.

They said the devil can't do anything without God's consent. Then went on to tell us how to use the Word, to defeat the devil even though the devil can only get us by God's consent, which means God uses his Word against His own will according to the OP.

I suppose if you just read Job without comparing other scriptures and ignorant by which the way the Word came, you might read in Job that God gave the devil permission to get Job taking a scripture for a private interpretation which we are told not to do that.

I also don't really own pet Unicorns.

Be blessed Brother, it's rare to see wisdom like this.

Mike, you should not assume people don't read your posts. Your hint about unicorns was a dead give away. Maybe they don't choose to respond to sarcasm that they agree with. I felt your words were a sufficient wound to the OP's content, and I needn't rub salt in it.

I have a case yesterday when responding to you that a misunderstanding was caused by not reading through the whole thing. In fact most the time that seems to be the case. Jason for example is always asking me about things I never said or mentioned, He just reads what I said in that way.

Whatever the case, I am not sure I was using Sarcasm, I was merely trying to use the Logic of the OP to understand how we can fight against God if God is the one sending devils off to get us.

Since we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, or physical things, then they only way "According to the OP" to have adversity would be for God to tell the devil to attack.

By the Power of the Lord Jesus, Paul turned such a one over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh that his spirit might be saved.

I can promise that the man turned over into Satan's hands could have done nothing. No amount of standing on the Word, confessions, faith would have saved him if Satan has a place to destroy. The man had to repent, and did so as Paul said receive him back that he may not have overmuch sorrow.

I was innocently trying to make sense of the whole thing. Honest.

Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The devil didn't make it easy for the Son of God, but Jesus overcame it all. Jesus will guide you through the temptations.

Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin.

No, it's not you............... I was responding to "YOUR" post. Cturtle quoted me from my response to you.

Cturtle half quoted me:
I said, if a women believes God and obey's, They die

then she said......

This quote above is what i am talking about. You preach faith, but your own words say you don't believe that God is able to save the one who obey's God.

So, she believes based on what I said to you that even if Women believe and Obey God, they can still die.

I never said that, believe that, nor meant that. I was not even talking about the women believing God.

The people who mistreat the women who is God's child. I have seen them Die, moved, or they run off.

When my Grandpa died, He left my Grandma a lot of money. One of my Grandpa's brothers tried through the courts to get half of it.

I prayed with Grandma and told Satan to go get this boy if He will not listen to the Holy Spirit. It was not His money, and grandpa never meant for him to get any money.

It was a day before he was to go to court to contest his rights to at least half the money. He died suddenly and unexpected of heart failure.

I have many more stories like this.

so what I meant, God is faithful to protect his own, and make a way out.

Why didn't ya just "heal" Him Mike? PATHETIC stuff!! Geesh.
I have many more stories like this.
So, how many people have ya killed ,compared to people you have healed?

Okay. Jesus is the Son of Man also. That part of him, did experience temptation from the Devil.
Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet was without sin.

This is a big deal. It was not just a cake-walk for Christ. If we brush Jesus's life off as "easy", we miss the point.

I have not killed anyone, nor healed anyone. Although it was talked about a long time in my family about what I prayed and what happened. My Grandma was not raised to understand her Authority in Christ. She was raised in unbelief under the Methodist and Nazarene church so It made a pretty big impact on her and the rest of the family.

This really should not surprise anyone, I am very concerned about what they teach ya all at church. Paul turned over 3 to the devil, despite the devil was doing his best to kill Paul. You really should know how this works, pay attention more in Sunday School.

This is true, but Jesus is far better off then the enemy. Jesus did have it rough at times, no question about that.

Mike the funny thing was I did not even see the unicorn statement until after I had posted and then I kind of figured you were being silly with the entire post but was out of data and shut down.
Yea you saw me there. Been there for a week I guess. Julia is stil there.

If you see anything in me it just the Father in me thank YOU Jesus...See it's up to us to stir our selves up and if we will come with a hunger for His word, well He will feed us more then most would ever dream. I am starving Brother, how about you ?
Blessings Mike

Yes, constantly wanting to learn. so little time, so much unlimited vastness of our Father.

Mike that would be my fault. I told Cturtle to quote just what she was refering to because things get so twisted in here by others.... ; ) I thought I was making it easier.....sorry !
