Grace is all that God is free to do for mankind without compromising His divine essence. Grace means favor, kindness and mercy. Grace is free, unmerited love and favor from God alone, not from our human works or because we are attractive to God. Grace is that in God which acts freely to save and bless mankind because all the demands of holiness have been satisfied in Christ.

Those who do not understand Grace and want to "make themselves attractive" to God are explained to us in these scriptures and we will know them by their fruit(Doctrines.)

Matt 7:15-23 NASB~~ 15“Beware of the false prophets(Nice, sweet, white washed), who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.(tombs,self-righteous,detractors of grace, religious)

Religion rejects Christianity and counterfeits in these areas: doctrine of demons [1 Tim.4:1], the devil's communion table [1 Cor.10:20-21], ministers of evil [2 Cor.11:13-15], the social gospel [2 Cor.11:3-4], spirituality by doing 'good' [Gal.3:2-3], righteousness [Matt.19:16-28], power [2 Thess.2:8-10], false gods [2Thess.2:3-4], righteousness [Matt.23].

16“You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?
Their(false prophets) doctrines(Fruit) will attack the Grace and sufficiency of Christ alone, and a one time non-meritorious decision to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.

17“So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
The good tree(true teacher/prophet) will bear good fruit(true doctrine.) The bad tree(false prophet) will produce bad fruit(false doctrine)

18“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
A good tree(true teacher) cannot produce bad fruit(False doctrine.) A bad tree(false teacher) cannot produce good fruit(true doctrine)

19“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20“So then, you will know them by their fruits.
By their fruit(doctrines) we will know them(false prophets.) And they(false prophets) will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’

A lifetime of doing human good works, even in the name of Jesus. They cleaned up their lives, did many human wonders in His name. Moral, sweet, nice even had many conversations about Jesus. But they never did the will of the Father, And rely on Jesus Christ alone for their salvation.

John 6:40~~New American Standard Bible
"For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."

The way I look at it is,
They go hand in hand, like peas and carrots.
Because faith without works is dead, being alone.
Works don't save you, but if you are saved, your works will show it.

Isa.29:13
Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
Matt.15:8,9
This people draweth high unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. ( not the commandments of God)

Mark 7:6-
Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
For laying aside the commandment of God ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups, and many other such like things ye do.
And He said, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
For Moses said, Honor thy father and mother and whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
But ye say, if a man shall say to his father or mother , it is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightiest be profited by me, he shall be free.
And ye suffer him no more to do aught for his father or his mother,
Making the word of God of none effect through your traditions.....

Works don't save you, but if you are saved, your works will show it.

How many works do we have to show? How many works will it take to satisfy God?

Titus 3:5~~ Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us

Eph 2:10~~ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
To say that believers WILL change (behavior/works) means that good works must accompany faith in Christ. And, if good works must accompany faith in Christ, than good works would be required for someone to go to heaven.

The idea that a believer WILL walk the walk or change, is just the "P" in the false teaching of perseverance of the saints. A believer will persevere to the end or he will not be saved or he was really not saved in the first place. A horrible and terrible false teaching.

These teachings are the essence of loadship or lordship salvation and calvinism.

What does scripture teach about Grace?.......

A. How many works does it take to satisfy God? There should be a definitive answer to this. We are talking about heaven or hell! NONE. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

B.Does God validate our faith through our works or walk? NO. Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

C. How many good works? Which ones are good enough? Which ones are not? Who validates these works? NO ONE. Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work

D. Can a person lose their fire for Jesus Christ after they have believed and still be saved? YES.Jesus said: John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. ( NOWHERE in the Bible does it say that one can walk away from his salvation, and thus lose it.)

E. Can a believer in Jesus Christ lose or forfeit Gods gift of eternal life in any circumstance? NO.Rom 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So you think those whom are deceived by taking the mark of the beast is OK?
So why do you read the Bible?
You accepted Christ, you need no other learning.
In Matt.5:19
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men to do so, he shall be least in the kingdom of heaven, but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
The laws are written in our hearts.

Do you have other gods? No, I hope, then you obeyed the law!
Do you murder, if no, then you obey the law!
Do you covet, if so you break the law, so forth and so forth.
The Bible is instructions on how we should walk, Jesus was/is a Prime example.

Yes, nothing can separate me for my love of God.
The prodigal son was dead, until he was made alive again.
We can turn our face away from God, free will.
Ask an atheist I know, that said he was saved. So is he still saved?
One must endure till the end.

The devil believes Jesus is the Christ, and trembles.

Romans 11
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.
22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

.

BTW,
ROM: is speaking of circumcision, of course that is an ordinance, no longer in effect.
ROM.3:1?
What advantage then hath the Jew? Or what profit is there of circumcision?
Titus 3:?
8; This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
ROM.4:?

Is speaking of circumcision again.
11, And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised...
ROM.11:?
21; For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
John 10?
Other sheep I have , which are not if this fold, them also I must bring.,...
32, Many good works have I shown you from My Father, for which of those works do ye stone Me?
37, If I do not the works of My Father, believe me not.

Amen Gary, I was replying the same time, on the same thing.

Never minding the view of the poster this is a very good example of a Bible Study post :salute

So why do you read the Bible?
To Grow in His free grace and knowledge that I have in His secure salvation.
2 Pet 3:18~~New American Standard Bible
but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

You accepted Christ, you need no other learning.
In Matt.5:19

Great and applicable verse for Grace. Some will be least in the Kingdom and some will be great in the Kingdom.
Never~~the~~ less, they are IN the Kingdom.

Rom 11:18-24~~18do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. 19You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; 21for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. 22Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. 23And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?

Paul is dealing with the Romans on their client nation status. Vs 18, some were being arrogant towards Israel for being cut of from client nation status. So Paul is dealing with the fact that the Romans could be cut off from being His client nation for the advance of the Gospel. This is not talking about being cut off from individual salvation and the free gift of eternal life. Even Israel was cut off, and what does Paul say about them?

Romans 11:11~~11 I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous.

It's not about how many works. Faith with out works is dead. Hmm What ever could this mean?
Walking in Love and Forgiveness is a must for your faith to bring the desired results and I am not talking about lay me down to sleep kind of results here. So walking in Love and Forgiveness is works. Doing what His word requires is the works.

Faith without works is dead. We are very blessed that Grace saves us. Eph 2:8-9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

And He remains faithful, even if we are not.

2 Tim 2:13~~13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself( we have died with Him. 2 Tim 2:11 And we are in union with Him. Col 2:10)

If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
