Believe it or not, till a few days ago, I never knew the precise definition of 'Baby Boomers', baby, babe, babe, baby...

http://health.yahoo.com/news/166007

I found that feature quite fascinating: I'll never forget my mum, @ 89, saying she still felt 17 in her head & in her heart 8-)

Anyone at Liverpool Pier Head, @ 11-ish on Sat am, will never forget the still powerful voice of The Undertakers' lead singer bellow, "You're never too old to rock: we're too young to die!"

I can almost hear some readers laugh @ the delusions of the old, but even as a teen, I recall studying folk closely & saying, "Ever noticed that some pre-teens already look set in stone, but some in their 80s/90s look as fresh as a daisy?"

There was quite a media frenzy when it was first made public that, in the media & IT, folk of 30+ are considered over the hill

But I've not yet seen a word in print of what's hit me repeatedly over the past 2 years of adjusting to a new phase in life: namely that while everyone expects folk of my age to slow down, everyone seems to hide their heads in the sand about how, as the Bible says, "Earth reels to & fro as a drunkard...what can be shaken will be shaken, so that what can't be shaken will remain"

That article says that many around the 60 mark now can expect to live another 20/30 productive years: some even 40

How many times did the Bible pinpoint this climax generation of all history - that will see Messiah return - as starting with the rebirth of Israel?

Does the Bible not say that a lifetime generation is the oft-quoted "3 score years & 10" - 70 yrs

& that this generation will be 'cut short', for the sake of the elect - those who love & trust Jesus - by our instant airlift Rapture rescue?

We don't even have 11.75 years till 14 May 2018 - & even that will be 'cut short' - which must surely mean noticeably 'cut short'

In fact, from Matthew 24, etc, we can actually help to cut short the terrible persecution of so many Christians around the world by finishing our Great Commission

That article talks of folk whose working lives so far enables them to spend the rest of their lives doing what they want to do: it talks of seeking ways to be generous as the best way to find true fulfilment

The most common joke I got in my 41 years of open air evangelism was, "Can't ya get a better job?"

I was never on anyone's payroll for outreach: I did it for love, not for money, & there is no better job than soulwinning

& that reply always made an impact, as folk know it's true, real & from the heart

I've prayed often for the many Christians who are already well able to fund the next 10-12 years: many have houses too big for them, now that the kids have flown the nest - simple downsizing can provide the funds they need

Now that we approach the colder weather, I'm sure groups of Christian friends will catch the vision of establishing Christian PC centres, for teamwork in evangelism & Bible teaching

Autologout looms: just time to say that cities like Sydney have 'Net cafes on @ every 3rd corner, yet many UK cities may only have @ 3 altogether, so many small towns may have none at all

& I hear that those 'Net cafes do good trade

What vision has God given you for a fruitful future?

"Those who wait on the Lord...."

Must go

God bless!

Ian
