A Christian does not eat everything, my minister friend told me.

There is a limit to what a Christian eats. He eats selectively - and not everywhere! He eats for strength and growth, not for the taste and pleasantness of the food

Well then you weren't at my house yesterday! :hysterical

He eats for strength and growth, not for the taste and pleasantness of the food
Without visiting the Proverbs passage, I'm pretty sure that is talking about leaders, those charged with governing. They must keep their wits about them so they can do their job. Pretty sure.

Leviticus 11:1-47, Acts 10:12-15.

Your friend would be wrong.

As a former recovering four star/five diamond chef, now an electrician and devoted slave of God's... He is quite wrong.

Okay, before this degrades into an argument about forbidden foods, lol....

3Do not give your strength to women,
Or your ways to that which destroys kings.

4It is not for kings, O Lemuel,
It is not for kings to drink wine,
Or for rulers to desire strong drink,

5For they will drink and forget what is decreed,
And pervert the rights of all the afflicted.

6Give strong drink to him who is perishing,
And wine to him whose life is bitter.

7Let him drink and forget his poverty
And remember his trouble no more.

Proverbs 31:3-7 NASB

This is prolly the passage Classik's minister friend had in mind. There's more I just gotta remember where it's at.

Here's the other part... (Yeah, I Googled it)
"Blessed is the land whose king is of noble birth and whose princes eat at a proper time-- for strength and not for drunkenness." (Ecclesiastes 10:17 NIV)

Read it with Proverbs 31:3-7 and you'll get the picture.

Gluttony is not a sin. There is no limit on sculling back living water and bread. Drink and eat your fill. Glutton out maximum.
so abusing meals isn't a sin?. gluttons have health issues. yes we need to look at that. 300lbs, have health issues. work to lose weight, an kill the source that makes eat food for comfort . im not saying all overeaters are that way but its a sin.

I was spiritualy talking. Anyhow, isnt there scripture in one of the feasts where they were to eat all the roasted meat and leave nothing left until morning. Thats the gluttony of all gluttons. Lol.

A friend of mine told me his fat chicken died. he's got this poultry thing, and one day he discovered one of his little animals died. he didnt eat that. he threw it away, saying it lost it blood.

Another told me they dont eat any animal that does not have blood: snails, crayfish, crabs etc

Sure they do! Who is telling these people these kind of things. Just because it's not red doesn't mean they don't have blood! Obviously someone had no idea just how good is a king crab leg dipped in hot melted butter with lemon!

He's an SDAC
Seventh Day Adventist Church? Their religion has rules like that? I guess that's one more reason I'm not one of them. But I've known a few of them and never knew any to follow OT laws like that. Are there different sects which have different laws they make them follow?
