This is my Bible.
I am what it says I am.
I can do what it says I can do.
Today I will be taught the Word of God.
I boldly confess my mind is alert, my heart is receptive.
I will never be the same.
I am about to receive the incorruptible, indestructible, ever-living seed of the Word of God.
I will never be the same.
Never, never, never.
I will never be the same. In Jesus name.

I really like this confession that Joel Osteen uses, do you agree with it?

Sounds like a new age mantra!

Do you consider all creeds or confessions mantra's?

PS: A mantra is a short verse or word. I think you mean it sounds like a form of chanting.

LOL, either that or a 'prosperity' mantra.

I often catch Joel's message on Sun. nights...most of the time he does have a good message. But sometimes he does teach 'prosperity' doctrine. I guess that is a prerequisite of the megachurch. They need to teach prosperity because thay have such a large overhead.

Three people so far said that they don't agree with it, I just want to know what is unorthodox about the state?

The problem with the "confession2 is that it is NOT an affirmation or confession of Faith in christ. It is actually self centred and self exalting!

It is a product of the "Me-centred" false gospel of the modern church era!

I am what it says I am.

Proclaims the nature of man.

I can do what it says I can do.

This is the only line I see as self centered.

Today I will be taught the Word of God.

Making a effort to study the word of God.

I boldly confess my mind is alert, my heart is receptive. I will never be the same.

The last part of this statement is true if the first is.

I am about to receive the incorruptible, indestructible, ever-living seed of the Word of God.

I didn't think anyone here would have a problem with this line. The word of God is all of the above.

I will never be the same.

I thought I was the calvintist...who would have a problem with this statement on this forum?

Never, never, never. I will never be the same.

I admitt this sounds silly. But if the word takes root, the above is true.

In Jesus name.

End's it like a prayer...

I, I, I, I, I, Every line leading up to the last line is full of this!

Is that the best you can do? It sounds a lot like a 'new' Christian who is learning the ropes of faith. How many accept Jesus and know how much 'I' really doesn't matter? Not many. It takes time and study of the word to learn that. Thanks for your post.
