I don't know if any of you heard of mary k. baxter, but she has some good books out. A devine revelation of heaven, hell and the spirt realm. They are good books. She is coming out with a another one about angels. It will wake you up to the truth. :biggrin

Divine Comedy written by Dante Alighieri in 1306 - 21. It is divided into 3 sections: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso.

Tell me more about the book by Mary K. Baxter.

Book

Well, in the 70's I believe Jesus gave her a vision of hell. He takes her there and she writes about all she saw and man, it is graphic, and it really makes you rethink your relationship with God, she wrote other books and they are ones you can't put down until the end. Devine revelation of Heaven, Devine revelation of the spirit realm, She also has one coming out in july the devine revelation of angels. The books are good and are not for everyone to read, b/c it will put you on your toes. :o

Is she going to write a book on unicorns and faeries next? Books about people claiming to have "visions" are just so informative.

How could anyone be so stupid as to believe what this false prophet is saying. How could anyone, with a mind, believe that Jesus actually took this woman to hell in order for her to write about it to the church. I wonder how much money she is making with these false books. What a crock. Baxtor has discovered just how gullible some Christians are.

Let me see, Jesus took her to hell, for her first book, and then to heaven for her second book. What's next, a trip to purgatory?

Don't be so quick to judge...wait until the visions fail then cast the first stone.

Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked Ex 23:7

Dragon fly, I agree but pls rebuke in Christian kindness.

I have it on cassette, Mrs. Jay. It WAS scary!!!!!!! :o No doubt about THAT. Even if the visions aren't true, it will definitely wake you up!

I recently read this book, and did not like it at all.

I am a Christian, and I do believe in heaven and hell.
However the fruit of this book made me feel sick.

It seemed like most of the people in hell were Christians who had dropped off from following Jesus some where along the way. Not only were they suffering incredible torment, but they were suffering extra troture by deamons because they had at some stage in thier lives been active Christians who had converted others to Christ.
I dont care what scripture you can throw at me, I just cant believe that God would allow them to suffer even more because they had converted others to Jesus.

The fruit of this book made me doubt in the saving power of Jesus.
While I am careful not to reject a prophet, it is my obligation to see if what they say aligns to the word of God. I am also conscious that there are false prophets also. Satan is the master of lies, and does so by mixing in a few lies with truth.

The book was written oldy. It seemed as though it was written in the style of Revelations so as to try to give it some authority. There were 2 incidences where Jesus abandoned this woman while He took her to hell. She described her flesh been ripped off her and agonising pain. All of a sudden Jesus reapeared with no explanation of why He had done such a thing to her, and then the book keep going with more acconts of people in hell. It was written very strangly indeed.

I feel that God spoke to me and said that I am under no obligation to believe if this book is true or untrue. The only book I must rely on is Gods word.
I must say hearing that relieved me greatly.

If you have read this book and it has caused you to want to strive for salvation, and trust in your own works for salvation, as it did for me for a while, then all I can do is quote the scriptures that says

John 3:16 For God , so loved the world, he gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on Him, shall be saved.

John 3:17 For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

I've read an interesting divine revelation of HELL:

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
(Luk 16:19-31)

Really makes me think about my selfish ways...
