Well I'm feeling better bit by bit as the day goes on. I'm going to go hop in the shower now and then go get some fresh air so I will be feeling great and well refreshed by tonight.

Oh don't worry, I won't lol, I will be too full from dinner. I'm just getting a small bag. Hopefully I will be able to write later.
Like I said, I can't promise anything but I'll try.
Chapter Sixteen; The Royal Gardens
Well here it is finally! The long anticipated chapter sixteen! I really hope you enjoy and I apologize again for the wait. I've sort of been under the weather lately.
As soon as Dan and Lilly came back around the corner Sophia was once again there to greet them. "P__ Princess Sophia!" Puff exclaimed excitedly before he started to coo.
"Oh, I see you've found one of our puffballs." she said while smiling warmly at them.
"Yeah, his name is Puff." Lilly replied while smiling back at her.
"I thought that it was a very fitting name." Dan said with a grin as Puff snuggled up against Lilly's cheek and started to purr.
"Aww,.. he really is so adorable!" Sophia exclaimed while Dan smiled lovingly at her.
"You realize of course that this means that you have a big responsibility now." Maria said while glancing down at Lilly.
"What do you mean?" she inquired.
"Come with me child, and I'll show you." Maria told her before she led her away and over to one of her flowerbeds that was full of a bunch of clear white flowers. "You see these?" she questioned her as Lilly nodded.
"Yes." she replied. "What are they?" she asked her while Maria simply just grinned back at her.
"Well believe it or not, they are lilies. Rainbow lilies." she told her.
"Really? Well if they're called rainbow lilies, why do they appear so transparent and boring?" Lilly wondered but the queen simply just laughed.
"That's because they only change color in the light of a rainbow. You wouldn't believe how beautiful they become." she told her. "It just goes to show that you can't judge something by how they first appear alone." she added.
"Well I thought that Puff was extremely adorable the moment I laid eyes on him and I still think that." Lilly said before Puff rubbed his face up against her cheek, closed his eyes, and began to purr.
"Let me rephrase that." Maria began while stifling another laugh. "We can't always judge things by the way they appear. Especially at first glance. Although I have to agree with you that Puff here is an exception to that rule." she said before Puff opened his eyes again and bowed his head.
"Your majesty." he said.
"Thank you Puff, you may rise now though." Maria said before he raised his head again. "He's very polite too if I may add. Although puffballs generally are."
"How about dragons?" Lilly asked.
"What do you mean?" the queen questioned her back.
"Well before we got here Dan and I had to get past a dragon in the cave of nightmares, and he certainly appeared to be vicious. In fact, he's the one that killed his pet squirrel." she told her.
"Well that really wasn't his fault. Dragons are carnivores and they prey upon smaller animals. And yes, it is true that they are typically dangerous creatures. However, just like not all humans are the same and every person is different, every dragon is different as well, and they usually act terrifying and threatening because they're frightened themselves." Maria explained.
"But what is there for a dragon to be afraid of?" Lilly wondered.
"Well, believe it or not, that dragon was probably more afraid of you than you were of him." Maria told her but Lilly just simply shook her head.
"But I'm not even my full size." she began.
"It doesn't matter. You're still a human in his eyes, and dressed up as a knight on top of that which is what dragons fear the most since a knight is a threat to their life." Maria told her but she simply just scoffed.
"At my size, the very worst thing I can do is poke one of his eyeballs out." she told her.
"I know, but he doesn't know that. Anyway, the original reason why I wanted to talk to you is because of the simple fact that although Puff is a wild animal and he can take care of himself, since he's now under your possession, it is your job to see that he gets everything he needs." Maria explained.
"Whoa wait a minute! I never said anything about keeping him." Lilly began with a quick shake of her head.
"Doesn't Lilly like Puff?" he questioned her.
"Yes of course I do! I like you very much it's just that my mother won't let me have any pets even though I really want a pony. And besides that, you live in a magical fairytale world and I wouldn't know how to take care of you. I wouldn't even know where to begin since my world is just plain and ordinary." she explained.
"He doesn't need much. Just give him a bunch of insects and mushrooms to eat and he's as happy as a clam." Maria told her with a grin. "And if your mother has a garden, I'm sure that she wouldn't mind if he stayed." she explained while Puff rubbed his face up against Lilly's cheek again and purred while slowly closing his eyes.
"You mean that's it? That's literally all I have to do." she stated with complete and utter bewilderment and disbelief.
"That's all. It doesn't take all of that much to provide the proper care for a puffball." Maria told her. "Just like it doesn't take all that much to provide the proper care for a garden. However, they still need care though. For without a proper gardener to tend to its garden, all of its plants will surely wither away and die. That's why even all of the flowers here in Fairytopia even look to me as their queen. For I'm the one who gives them life." she explained before she began watering the lilies. That's when suddenly the sky turned grey and there was a low rumble of thunder off in the distance.
"It looks like it's going to storm." Lilly said while she turned her head to look at it.
"Yeah well mother nature also has a really big hand when it comes to giving my garden life." Maria said while Puff let out a tiny shriek and began trembling with fright while making his ears go down and covered his face.
"What's the matter Puff? Are you scared?" Lilly asked him while Puff quickly shook his head.
"Puff doesn't like thunder. Thunder scares Puff." he told her.
"It's alright Puff, I used to be scared of thunder too, but it can't hurt you. It's only a noise." she reassured him.
"A very loud noise." Puff began. "Puff wants his hole." he finished before Lilly turned over to look at Maria questioningly.
"His hole?" she inquired with uncertainty. "What is he talking about?"
"That's where all puffballs live. They burrow inside little holes in the ground and it helps them stay dry and keep out of the rain since they hate water." Maria explained.
"Why would they hate water though?" Lilly wondered.
"Puff can't swim." he told her with a shake of his head.
"Don't worry Puff, you won't get wet." Lilly assured him. "Come on let's get inside before it rains then." she told him before she quickly hurried inside holding tightly onto him inside the palms of her hands while Dan ran after her and both Sophia and her mother flew inside.

Chapter Seventeen; Nightmares
I just wanted to start this chapter off by really quickly apologizing. I was going to post it much earlier but I got busy and the weather here in the good old Buckeye state has been really beautiful up until today. So anyways, sorry about the delay and here's the chapter. I really hope you enjoy it!
Dan, Sophia, Lilly, and Puff watched out the window as the rain started pouring down from out of the sky. "I wonder what he does if his tunnel gets flooded out if he can't stand to get wet." Dan said.
"If I remember correctly, puffballs plug their burrows up from the inside." Sophia told him.
"So, now what do we do?" Lilly wondered while Sophia quickly turned her head over to look at her with a grin.
"We could always play dress up." she suggested.
"I'm out of here." Dan began before he turned around and started walking away. "Dressing up is for girls."
"If you don't dress up then what do you plan on wearing to the ball? After all, I'm the princess of Fairytopia and I have to have a date. I just can't miss my own ball." Sophia told him before he stopped to turn back around and look at her. "Unless you would rather have somebody else take me instead." she added.
"You have balls in Fairytopia?" Lilly inquired with interest.
"Yep, in that sense, we're just like any other royal family." Sophia told her with a warm and loving smile while she continued hovering in the air. "The only difference is that we have wings."
"Don't get me wrong, I would love to take you, but I'm a leprechaun remember? And technically fairies and leprechauns are supposed to be enemies. What would everyone say if I showed up at the ball as your date?" Dan questioned her.
"If you two really do like each other then why does it matter what everybody else thinks? After all, I'm a human but I'm still going as long as long as it's alright with Sophia." Lilly said.
"Of course you can go Lilly. You are my best friend after all." Sophia told her when suddenly Puff perked up his ears.
"What about Puff?" he asked her.
"Well, I don't think that there's a rule that says the puffballs are allowed,.. however, I don't think there's a rule that says they aren't allowed to either. You're more than welcome to come Puff." she told him.
"Yay!" he exclaimed excitedly before bouncing up into the air.
"And since I don't think that I have any clothes that are small enough to fit you, you're the exception to the rule of having to dress up." Sophia told him. "Besides, all I have is girl's clothes anyway." she added with a tiny giggle.
"Another reason why I don't want to play dress up. I'll pick out something nice for the ball at my own house." Dan told them before he turned around and walked away.

Later that night Lilly knelt down at her bedside and closed her eyes while folding her hands in prayer before all of a sudden Dan walked into the room. "Uh Lilly," he began before she quickly opened her eyes and then turned her head over to look at him. "what are you doing?" he asked her.
"I'm saying my prayers." she replied.
"What?" Dan questioned with uncertainty.
"I'm thanking God for all of the blessings in my life. He's the one who created my world." she explained.
"Oh I see. Our world was created by children from your world." he told her. "You see the wonderful thing about children is that they love using their imagination." he said with a grin.
"Are you trying to tell me that this is just a dream and Fairytopia doesn't really exist?" Lilly wondered.
"Actually no, it's quite the opposite. When you use your imagination anything and everything is possible. The more children laugh and play and use their imaginations, the more this world becomes real and alive." he told her. "Now, have you brushed your teeth yet and used the bathroom?" he questioned her as she quickly nodded her head. "Then you should probably get into bed. It's getting late." he told her. "By the way, I brought somebody up for you." he added with a warm and loving smile before he reached into his pocket and a few seconds later Puff's head popped up out of the gap between both of his hands.
"Come on Puff, bedtime for you too buddy. He should be comfortable in there, after all, a drawer is very similar to a hole to him." he told him while Lilly hopped into bed and Dan placed him safely inside the drawer of Lilly's nightstand as the tiny puffball let out a gigantic yawn before the drawer slowly shut him in. "Goodnight Lil." he told her before he bent over to give her a goodnight kiss on the top of her head and then quietly turned around and hit the light switch and then softly shut the door behind him.

That night Dan found that he had a rather difficult time getting to sleep. He was thinking a lot about Lilly and knowing the fact that although he didn't want to admit it, eventually she would have to go home, he just didn't know how to take her there or whether or not he would be able to say goodbye to her when the time came, but he also found that he had been thinking an awful lot about Sophia. When he did finally manage to fall asleep, shortly afterwards he was awoken by the sound of Lilly entering the dark room still wearing her nightgown.
"What's the matter Lil?" he began inside a whisper while rubbing his eyes. "Why aren't you in bed?" he questioned her as he slowly started to sit up.
"I had a nightmare and I can't get back to sleep." she replied. "Can I sleep with you instead?"
"Sure." Dan responded. "I don't mind." he told her which was the truth, although deep down he really wished that Sophia had been asking this question instead although he knew it never would because she was the princess and they both weren't even dating let alone married. "Come on up." he said before she climbed up on top of the bed and lied down next to him. "What was your nightmare about? Do you remember by any chance?" he wondered in a gentle whisper while turning his head over to look at her.
"I can't tell you." she replied in the same soft gentle whisper.
"Why not?" he whispered back.
"I'm afraid that it might come true." she responded. "After all, my dreams usually mean something remember?" she questioned him softly but he just simply smiled at her.
"Don't worry Lil," he began. "remember where all of the nightmares in Fairytopia go? Nothing bad is going to happen. I promise you that." he reassured her soothingly with a warm and loving affectionate smile before both of them closed their eyes and drifted off to sleep together.
I like that chapter an awful lot. And a part in it reminded me of this song.

Chapter Eighteen; The Ball
I'm sorry that it's been awhile but I've had a lot of beautiful weather outside lately. Anyways, here's the next chapter and I really hope that you enjoy it!
The next morning Lilly, Dan, and Sophia all headed down into the kitchen for their breakfast which just happened to be (except for Puff who had a very nice helping of spider soup) flapjacks and wild berries. "This is absolutely delicious!" Lilly exclaimed excitedly.
"Isn't it?" Sophia questioned her with a warm and loving grin. "We have the best chefs in our castle." she said but Dan just simply heaved a deep and heavy sigh while he held his head up with one hand and poked his flapjacks with his fork using his other hand.
"What's wrong Dan?" Lilly wondered.
"Oh nothing, I was just thinking about the ball tonight that's all." he replied.
"Me too. I can't wait! I love getting dressed up!" Lilly cried while a wide grin started stretching a crossed her face.
"I don't." Dan began. "And I don't like dancing either."
"Why not?" Lilly asked him before he shook his head at her.
"I don't know." he told her.
"Well, I don't think that it's rocket science, I mean all you do is move your body and your feet to the rhythm of the beat. I thought that all leprechauns knew how to do an Irish jig or something." she said.
"We're supposed to know how to, but I'm pretty sure that it skipped a generation." Dan told her.
"Well come on, I'll show you how, it's really rather easy." she began with a grin while she grabbed ahold of his arms and pulled him up from out of his chair.
"But we don't have any music." he pointed out to her.
"Oh don't worry,.." Sophia began before she hovered out of her chair and up into the air. "I can take care of that one." she said with a grin while placing two of her fingers in-between her teeth and whistling loudly. A few moments later three more fairies flew into the room. "Lilly Jacobs I want to introduce you to my sisters." she said while placing one of her hands out to present them to her. "This is Izzy, Ana, and Anastasia." she told her.
"Nice to meet you Lilly, my sister has told me an awful lot about you." Ana began while Izzy shyly smiled over at Dan.
"Yeah, but she never mentioned anything about your other friend." she said with a tiny little giggle.
"Anyway,.." Sophia began while taking a deep breath and rolling her eyes. "Come here girls, I have a little task for you to do." she said while waving her hand over to them before all four of the fairies huddled together. Lilly noticed that Anastasia had golden wings like Sophia's (and their father) while both of the twins had silver wings like their mother's.

"Alright, do we all know what we're supposed to do?" Sophia questioned them before she placed her hand smack dab in the middle of the circle while all of her sisters placed theirs on top of hers and whispered sounds of agreement and nodded. "Alright then, and break!" she exclaimed excitedly while Lilly turned her head over to look at Dan again.
"What's happening?" she asked him but Dan simply just shrugged at her. A few seconds later all four of the fairies were flying circles around them. In fact they were flying so fast that Dan and Lilly felt their feet lift off of the ground. Then all four of the fairies began to sing. Dan gulped. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do, but instinctively he grabbed ahold of Lilly by her hands and waltzed a crossed the air with her while twirling her around in different directions. He grinned at her while the fairies continued to sing and Puff watched them from down below.
"See? You do know how to dance after all." Lilly told him.
"Well I guess that gives a whole new meaning to the phrase walking on air." he said before he stifled a laugh.

Puff hopped a crossed the dresser while Lilly examined herself in the mirror. She had a beautiful shimmery pink sleeveless dress on with a pair of black flats on her feet. "Princess Lilly." Puff said before bowing his head.
"Don't be ridiculous Puff, I'm not a princess." she told him.
"On the contrary I do believe that he's right." Lilly gasped before quickly spinning around to see Dan standing behind her and slowly walking further into the room. "Sophia wanted you to have this." he began before he slowly held up a glittery pink tiara that matched her dress. "She wanted you to be the honorary princess for the night since this is your first ball." he told her while placing the tiara on top of her head.
"Ooh,.. pretty." Puff said while Dan and Lilly exchanged warm and loving smiles.
"Princess?" Dan inquired while offering Lilly his hand. Lilly placed her hand inside his before he kissed the back of it and started leading her out of the room.
"Come on Puff." Lilly said before the tiny little puffball raced towards the end of the dresser and then leaping through the air managed to land on top of her shoulder just before they exited the room together.

Queen Maria and Princess Sophia were the two fairies that greeted Dan, Lilly, and Puff as they came down the stairs and entered the ball room. "Wow Lilly, you look beautiful." Sophia told her.
"Like a princess for sure." Maria said while the two fairies smiled at her warmly and lovingly. "And Dan looks like a rather handsome young fellow as well." she added. "Your hair is all combed back so nicely and I don't think that I ever saw you without your top hat on." she said.
"Well in that case, if I have your approval, may I ask your daughter to a dance?" he questioned her.
"You may." she replied before Dan placed his hand upon his chest and bowed. "Thank you your majesty." he told her before slowly rising back up and then walked over to Sophia while Lilly sadly watched him. "Princess?" he questioned Sophia in exactly the same matter that he had to her before he took ahold of Sophia's hand and kissed the back of it and then led her away just as King David walked over to his wife.
"Look at her David." Maria began heaving a dreamy little sigh while she smiled at the pair of them. Dan took Sophia inside his arms and instantly started waltzing with her a crossed the dancefloor. "She looks just like I did when I first laid eyes on you." she told him.
"Oh please." Lilly muttered underneath her breath before she turned around and started heading towards the patio door. She grabbed ahold of it and pulled it open and then slammed it tightly shut behind her.
"Is Lilly alright?" Puff asked her while she walked over to the castle wall and hunched her body over it.
"Yeah,.." she began as a tear rolled down her cheek at the thought of losing her two best friends. "I'm fine."

I'm sorry that it's been awhile but I've had a lot of beautiful weather outside lately. Anyways, here's the next chapter and I really hope that you enjoy it!
The next morning Lilly, Dan, and Sophia all headed down into the kitchen for their breakfast which just happened to be (except for Puff who had a very nice helping of spider soup) flapjacks and wild berries. "This is absolutely delicious!" Lilly exclaimed excitedly.
"Isn't it?" Sophia questioned her with a warm and loving grin. "We have the best chefs in our castle." she said but Dan just simply heaved a deep and heavy sigh while he held his head up with one hand and poked his flapjacks with his fork using his other hand.
"What's wrong Dan?" Lilly wondered.
"Oh nothing, I was just thinking about the ball tonight that's all." he replied.
"Me too. I can't wait! I love getting dressed up!" Lilly cried while a wide grin started stretching a crossed her face.
"I don't." Dan began. "And I don't like dancing either."
"Why not?" Lilly asked him before he shook his head at her.
"I don't know." he told her.
"Well, I don't think that it's rocket science, I mean all you do is move your body and your feet to the rhythm of the beat. I thought that all leprechauns knew how to do an Irish jig or something." she said.
"We're supposed to know how to, but I'm pretty sure that it skipped a generation." Dan told her.
"Well come on, I'll show you how, it's really rather easy." she began with a grin while she grabbed ahold of his arms and pulled him up from out of his chair.
"But we don't have any music." he pointed out to her.
"Oh don't worry,.." Sophia began before she hovered out of her chair and up into the air. "I can take care of that one." she said with a grin while placing two of her fingers in-between her teeth and whistling loudly. A few moments later three more fairies flew into the room. "Lilly Jacobs I want to introduce you to my sisters." she said while placing one of her hands out to present them to her. "This is Izzy, Ana, and Anastasia." she told her.
"Nice to meet you Lilly, my sister has told me an awful lot about you." Ana began while Izzy shyly smiled over at Dan.
"Yeah, but she never mentioned anything about your other friend." she said with a tiny little giggle.
"Anyway,.." Sophia began while taking a deep breath and rolling her eyes. "Come here girls, I have a little task for you to do." she said while waving her hand over to them before all four of the fairies huddled together. Lilly noticed that Anastasia had golden wings like Sophia's (and their father) while both of the twins had silver wings like their mother's.

Chapter Nineteen; The Evil Enchantress
Alright guys, this is the chapter that you all have been waiting for and hopefully it won't disappoint you. Get ready for the entrance of the evil enchantress Queen Jessica.
A woman in a black hooded cloak stood hunched over her yellow tiny square table where a gigantic purple crystal ball stood on top of it. Inside the ball was a perfect and clear image of Lilly and Puff standing on top of the castle's balcony. That's when suddenly there came a rather quiet squeaking sound as the door pushed open and two cats slowly entered the room. One of them had thick black fur with green glowing eyes like the little plastic bottle that the woman wore around her neck, and the other one had fur as white as snow and eyes as blue as the sky on a sunny day. The woman slowly turned around and revealed that she too had glowing eyes, however, hers had been dark purple due to the fact that she had a genetic mutation when she was a baby.
The black cat meowed as he trotted over to her and started rubbing up against her legs. "Another human is in Fairytopia Midnight." the woman began softly. Although she was rather frightening to look at, her voice was very soft and soothing that would put any child or infant to sleep instantly. "This is our chance to finally take over that land once and for all. For that leprechaun that I've been watching for the past few days has gotten awfully close to the girl, and I bet that he would do just about anything to protect her, even if it meant sacrificing his life for hers. Now I just need a way to get out of this castle and into Fairytopia." she said when all of a sudden Midnight stopped rubbing against her legs and hurried back over to his friend and meowed at him rather loudly.
The woman watched them from afar. It had appeared to her that the two cats were conversing about something and communicating with each other. That's when the cat with white fur turned around and walked towards the center of the room before leaping up onto the bed and then up onto the woman's dresser. He stuck one paw up into the air and meowed while pointing at the mirror.
"Ah, very well done Moonlight." she began while she slowly started walking over to the dresser in her spikey high heeled boots. "I forgot all about the magic mirror that Queen Maria gave to me when I first came to Fairytopia." she said while scratching the cat behind his ears before he started to purr. The woman glanced into the mirror and stared at her reflection with her glowing eyes. It glittered and sparkled before it started to grow larger then the dresser. "Take me to Fairytopia she said as the two felines watched before she stepped through it and instantly disappeared inside of it.

Dan and Sophia finished their dance while gazing into one another's eyes. He placed a tender hand on top of her cheek and closed his eyes leaning into kiss her when all of a sudden he felt a strange sensation inside his stomach and slowly pulled away from her. Sophia, feeling rather disappointed that she hadn't had her first kiss after all slowly opened her own eyes. "What's wrong Dan?" she questioned him.
"I'm not sure exactly." he began. "It's just that,.. well,.. have you ever had one of those feelings that something bad was going to happen?" he inquired.
"Yeah, all the time. As long as those two brunette troublemaking fairies are around." she replied while pointing her thumb back at Ana and Izzy.
"Sophia I'm serious." he began with a pause as he heard thunder rumbling inside the distance and glanced back over at the opposite side of the room. "Sophia, where's Lilly?" he questioned her with uncertainty.
"You mean you don't know?" she questioned him back when all of a sudden he felt his heart starting to race again while he turned around and hurried back over to the king and queen. "Have either of you seen Lilly!?" he exclaimed anxiously.
"No,.. we thought that she was with you." Maria replied earnestly.
"The last I saw her she was headed out back. She seemed rather upset about something." David told him.
"Oh no." Dan said in a horrified gasp while it started pouring rain and lightning struck the sky. That's when suddenly he heard it. The most horrifying and petrifying scream that he had ever heard in his life. "LILLY!!!!" he hollered on the top of his lungs while he quickly spun around and raced towards the door, but he was already too late. For he had made it just in time to see his friend being snatched away inside a glass jar by the evil purple eyed woman.
"Dan!!! Help me!!!" Lilly shouted back at him while beating her tiny fists against the glass and breathing frantically as tears rolled down her cheeks. Dan narrowed his eyebrows and glared angrily at the woman when he realized who it was that was taking the little girl that he had come to know and love as his daughter away while sitting on the back of the same dragon that had guarded the cave of nightmares.
"Jessica!!" he growled feeling hot and uncontrollable anger starting to boil green his Irish blood.
"So you're Dan. It's funny, I thought that you would be much taller in person." she replied while the dragon continued flapping his wings so that they would be able to stay hovered in the air above the castle.
"Let her go!!" he snapped.
"You want her??" Jessica questioned back. "Well then come and get her." she told him before the dragon let out a triumphant screech and blew a jet of fire out of his mouth towards him. Dan let out a horrified gasp before he turned around and ran away giving Jessica just enough time to escape. He heard the little girl's terrified screams from off in the distance and as he turned back around he could just barely see them.
"No." Dan whispered loudly while shaking his head. "No!!! Lilly!!!!" he hollered speeding towards the castle wall when he heard rather quiet and muffled sobs behind him. As he stopped and turned around he saw Puff lying there flat on his back on the ground. "Puff." he said before he quickly hurried over to him and picked him up holding him out on the palms of his hands. "What happened Puff? Are you alright?" he asked him.
"Puff is fine." he began with a sniff while tears rolled down his red furry cheeks. "Jessica took Lilly. Puff tried to stop her by biting her hand, but Jessica hit Puff and knocked him over and he failed to rescue Lilly." he explained.
"It's alright Puff, don't worry. You did the best you could." Dan reassured him.
"Lilly's gone forever. Jessica is going to torture her and kill her." he said with another sniff while tears continued spilling out of his eyes and staining his cheeks but Dan just simply shook his head at him.
"No she's not. Don't worry Puff, Princess Sophia and I are going to get her back. Trust me on that. It's me she really wants anyway." he told him before Sophia fluttered out onto the balcony.
"What happened? Where's Lilly?" she inquired.
"Jessica took her." Dan replied as the princess gave a horrified gasp and placed a hand over her mouth.
"Oh no!" she exclaimed. "We have to do something! She's our friend!" she cried.
"I know she is and don't worry we can and we will. I promised myself that I wouldn't ever let anything happen to her, and I intend to keep my promise." he began before he took a deep breath and sighed heavily. "Even if I have to die for her." he told her before he turned back around still carrying Puff on his palms while he hurried inside.
Meanwhile Jessica had finally made it back to her castle and placed the glass jar that had Lilly imprisoned in it on top of the tiny table. "There you go miss Lilly, I hope you make yourself comfortable because you're going to be here awhile." she told her while Lilly glanced down at Midnight and Moonlight who were currently circling the table and licking their lips while they gazed up at her.
"Please!! Just let me go!!" she sobbed. She still didn't understand how Jessica managed to get into Fairytopia in the first place and free the dragon, but all she wanted now was just to go back home and be with her parents who always loved her and protected her ever since she was born. "I want to go home!! I should have never even run away in the first place!!" she hollered.
"That's your problem for being a sinful human brat." Jessica began. "It isn't my fault. You better hope that your friends come through for you, or I'm afraid that you'll never see them again." she told her before all of a sudden she broke into thunderous evil laughter that was even louder than the thunderstorm that was occurring outside of the castle window as she left the room and slammed the door behind her while Lilly sat down and huddled her knees close to her chest while she hid her face inside her lap and continued to sob.

Meanwhile back in the regular world Lilly's mother had been making numerous amount of phone calls while her father posted flyers up onto the telephone poles, and Alex was fast asleep in his crib taking a nap. "It's all my fault Jack, I shouldn't have been so hard on her." she told him before he walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her in a tight and loving embrace while resting his chin on the top of her head. "What if she's hurt out there somewhere?" she questioned him hoarsely while she tried to push the thought of the fact that there was even a chance that their beautiful daughter (who had been missing for days) might not have even been alive anymore.
"Don't worry Katie,.." he began while placing a soft and tender kiss on the top of her head. "we'll find her, I promise you that." he finished while he slowly glanced up and looked out the window into the pouring rain as his wife continued sobbing silently inside his chest.

As soon as Dan, Sophia, and Puff got back inside Puff shook his fur dry. "I'm sorry Puff, I know you hate getting wet." Dan began before David and Maria quickly fluttered over to them.
"What happened? Where's Lilly?" Maria inquired anxiously.
"She's gone. Jessica kidnapped her." Dan began.
"So Dan and Puff and I are going after her and rescuing her." Sophia finished for him.
"Oh no you don't! That's way too dangerous! Besides that you're the princess and I won't allow you to put yourself in harm's way." her mother told her.
"I'm sorry Mother, but I'm not a fairling anymore!" Sophia exclaimed. "I'm old enough to make my own decisions. And besides that, Lilly's my best friend and I know that she would do the same for me." she told her.
"Don't worry your majesty, I'll protect her with my life. I promise. I won't let anything happen to her." Dan told her while he tried to make himself forget that that was the same exact thing that he had promised himself before he had lost Lilly.
"Alright Daniel, I never thought in my long fairy life that I would hear myself saying this but as the queen, and more importantly as a mother I trust you to keep my daughter safe." she said as David nodded.
"Same with me. Being a father means everything to me. In fact, it's more important to me than anything. Even being king." he said.
"Don't worry, your daughter is in safe hands. Since Puff can't travel in the rain, we'll wait until after the storm's over to go after Lilly. I just hope that she can hold on that long." Dan said as Sophia placed a comforting hand upon his shoulder.
"I'm sure that she can. She might only be a little girl but she's very strong for her age. Probably even stronger than you even realize. However, I'm not so sure that we should be taking Puff with us. It's very easy for a puffball to get hurt out there. Especially with Jessica's cats." she told him as Puff gasped rather loudly.
"Cats!?" he exclaimed anxiously and with uncertainty. "Cats like to chase and catch puffballs." he said while his tiny little body trembled with fright but that's when suddenly he took a deep breath and shook his head. "No, Puff has to be brave. Jessica took Lilly and Lilly is Puff's friend." he said.
"Well I admire your determination Puff, and since I for one know exactly how you feel and I understand completely one hundred percent I'm not going to try and stop you anymore." Sophia told him.
"For a creature so tiny he is rather brave isn't he?" Dan questioned her.
"Well, we really aren't in any better circumstances as he is. After all, if Midnight or Moonlight are even to get one look at us, we're toast." she said before she turned around and flew away.
"At least you have wings though." Dan pointed out while he slowly began to follow her carefully carrying Puff towards the staircase.

Eventually Lilly had stopped sobbing although a few tears still continued to roll down her cheeks. However she was currently more interested in the two cats that were in the room with her. For they both sat down at the door as if they were expecting something. Moonlight licked one of his paws and started washing his face while Midnight continued staring at the door. A few seconds later the door creaked open and Jessica reentered the room. This time she wasn't wearing her cloak though.
As Lilly turned her head over to look at her she saw that she had long straight thick black hair running down her back and orangish cream colored skin. She was wearing a bright red sleeveless shirt with long bright red matching leather trousers. She wore the exact same boots on her feet, and bottle around her neck, but she also wore a diamond ring on her middle finger and to top it all off, a black crown on the top of her head.
Both of the cats started meowing continually as she entered the room. "Move away you silly creatures so I can get inside." she told them as they quickly hurried away but kept glancing back at her anxiously. Midnight let out one last rather loud meow as she finally managed to get inside and closed the door behind her. "Here you go my precious darlings, but remember,.." she began while she placed their food and water dish down in front of them while she looked over at the little girl still entrapped inside the jar. "this is only your appetizer." she finished.
"Don't be so sure of yourself! Dan and Sophia are coming back for me! I know they are!" Lilly cried.
"Sure they are sweetheart,.." Jessica hissed. "the only question that remains is will all three of you be leaving the castle alive? Especially with two hungry felines that will basically do anything that I tell them to do on my command." she finished stifling a malicious laugh with a sneer while the cats began to consume their meal. As Jessica left the room Lilly could see that the bottom of the green bottle (that resembled a tiny potion like bottle in her mind) appeared to be leaking. Without hers and Midnight's knowledge, a green liquid slimy drop escaped from underneath it and fell inside his water dish in which he unknowingly lapped it up with his pink catlike tongue.
As he did so Lilly widened her eyes with complete and utter bewilderment and disbelief as his body started transforming in front of her. For his fur was no longer black. It was blue with a purple sparkly dust overtop of it. As he continued drinking he started disappearing, and then suddenly he had vanished altogether. Lilly's jaw dropped wide open. For she had never seen such a thing in her life! The cat that had been standing in front of her a few moments earlier drinking his water was now completely invisible!
Wow! That was a rather exciting chapter wasn't it? By the way, the reason that Jessica wears her ring on her middle finger instead of the one by her pinkie is because it symbolizes power and she (not unlike the devil) likes to think that she's powerful. At least that's what I read. More updates ASAP!

Chapter Twenty-One; The Diablous Lizard
I'm sorry but you're going to have to wait a little while to find out what happens to Lilly and Midnight. Lol, I'm so evil to leave you hanging I know. Anyway, I still hope that you enjoy the next chapter.
As soon as the storm was finished, Princess Sophia, Dan, and Puff all gathered down at the bottom of the hill that led up to the castle. "So, we better go before Jessica harms Lilly." Sophia began before she quickly turned around and sped away.
"Wait Princess, aren't you forgetting something?" Dan inquired before she suddenly stopped and turned back to look at him.
"What?" she questioned him back.
"I can't fly and Puff can't even walk." he pointed out before Puff bounced up into the air.
"Puff can bounce though." he began. "Bounce! Bounce! Bounce!" he repeated while continuing to bounce up and down excitedly before he finally stopped a few minutes later.
"I know Puff, but my point was that we can't fly so it would be unfair if Sophia flew away without us." Dan told him.
"Well, how long does it take to get to Satopulous from here?" Sophia wondered.
"About three to five days." Dan replied.
"What!? Daniel, how do you expect us to reach Lilly in time if we can't fly? Who knows what the evil queen will do to her in three days time! You really don't expect us to walk there do you!?" she exclaimed.
"Of course not." Dan began. "I just figured that we could ride a unicorn there." he finished.
"Wait a minute, how do you suppose we get there on a unicorn when we don't even have one with us? I mean, they don't exactly grow on trees. They're very rare and difficult to find. Not to mention the fact that they are very skittish, especially of men." Sophia told him.
"That's why you have to find one for us instead." he told her.
"What!?" she exclaimed with complete and utter astonishment and disbelief. "You just expect me to go into the Enchanted Forest by myself!?" she cried in horror. "There are snakes and lizards and other creepy creatures in there that would be extremely delighted to make a meal out of a fairy like me!"
"That's why Puff and I are going with you. Right Puff?" Dan questioned him before the tiny puffball started trembling with fright. "C'mon Puff, don't forget, you're doing this for Lilly remember?" he reminded him.
"Dan's right. Puff will do it for Lilly." he said before all three of the friends turned around and headed towards the Enchanted Forest together.

Puff bounced along the dirt path while Dan and Sophia walked together side by side. "You know Dan, I should warn you," Sophia began anxiously while breathing frantically. "When a fairy gets frightened strange and unusual things happen." she told him before he grabbed ahold of her hand and gripped it tightly.
"It's alright Sophia, I promised your parents that I would protect you and that's exactly what I intend to do." he assured her while a long slithering passed along the ground in front of them. Sophia gave a rather loud gasp but luckily for her the snake appeared as if he hadn't heard her. As soon as he was gone she took a deep breath and heaved a great sigh of relief.
"That was a close one." she said. However, the next animal that they came a crossed she wasn't so lucky. For there, standing in front of them was a black lizardlike creature with purple stripes running a crossed his back and this time he had made eye contact with them.
"Oh no." Dan began with a horrified gasp. "Sophia, don't look into his eyes. Otherwise he'll hypnotize you." he told her but unfortunately for him his warning was a bit too late. For the princess had locked eyes with the creature and his once lime greenish colored eyes were now a dark devilish red. Sophia gave out one last gasp before she felt herself being unable to move. Dan knew that this was a Diablous Lizard and if he breathed his poisonous breath on her that she would die. So without even thinking about it he raced towards the lizard and leapt up into the air and landed smack dab on his back angering the creature.
Dan looked down at his stripes as the Diablous Lizard spun around and tried to buck him off of his back. Sophia was suddenly free from the spell that she had previously been under and finally found her voice again. "Hold on Dan!!!" she shouted on the top of her lungs as she leapt up into the air and started flying towards him to be his aid.
"No Sophia!! Stay away from us or he'll kill you!!" Dan called back to her while grabbing ahold of the lizard's tail and used it to lift himself up into the air. The creature screeched in pain and Dan closed his eyes as purple smoke came out of the lizard's mouth.
"Oh,.. Puff can't watch." Puff said anxiously while using his long ears to drape down over his eyes as his tiny little body shook with fright. Then suddenly, without warning, he let out a rather large fart. As he did this green smoke escaped his bottom and filled the air causing the Diablous Lizard to screech in terror before turning back around and fleeing into the forest making Dan collapse onto the ground.
"Dan!" Sophia exclaimed as she sped through the air over to him before landing down on top of her feet on the ground beside him. "Dan are you alright?" she questioned him anxiously but the leprechaun remained unconscious. "Please Dan, wake up." she whispered. "Otherwise I'd be lost without you." she told him hoarsely and swallowed a lump in her throat as a tear escaped her eye and rolled down her cheek and hit him square in the chest.
A few moments later Dan opened his eyes, took a great big gasp of air and sat up. Sophia smiled and her tears of sorrow suddenly changed into tears of joy. "Dan, you're alright. You're alive." she said while she sat down beside him.
"Apparently I am." he began. "That's odd. I didn't know that fairy tears had healing powers."
"That's because they don't." she began. "That is, as far as I'm aware of they don't." she finished.
"Well whatever was in that tear sure was powerful. That was a Diablous Lizard and their breath is poisonous. There isn't anybody to have known to survive the encounter before." he explained. "We're lucky that thing didn't kill us." he said as Sophia smiled.
"Well if it wasn't for Puff we just might have. He saved our lives." she said as Dan chuckled.
"Yeah, puffballs turn into little stink bombs whenever they get nervous. It's how they defend themselves. And everything needs a form of defense. Especially at that size." he told her with a grin before they both slowly stood back up and got to their feet.
"You stay right here with Puff while I go and see if I can find a unicorn." she told him.
"Alright. Are you sure that you're going to be okay by yourself?" he inquired.
"Yes, I will be. I promise." she told him before she turned around and flew away further into the woods.
"Good luck Princess." he said to himself while he watched her go.
Wow! That was a pretty exciting chapter wasn't it? Also rather humorous too about the stink bomb thing LOL 
I don't blame Puff for his love of bouncing though, as you can see I rather enjoy it too.
