I was just wondering, has anybody here who has Netflix seen The Christmas Chronicles yet? I just watched it last night and I'm about to watch it again. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first because I'm a huge fan of The Santa Clause films and to me Tim Allen was Santa Claus. However, Kurt Russell (I already knew him as the adult voice of Copper from The Fox and The Hound) brought something new to the legendary figure that we all know and love (well most of us anyways) so well. He actually made Santa cool in my mind! :cool I also had absolutely no idea that he could sing! :eek2

He completely sleighed his version of "Santa Claus Is Back In Town" which up until last night I never heard before or knew that it was originally an Elvis song even though I am definitely a fan of Elvis. (Although not as much as reba. :lol) Anyways there were a few flaws about it like I was disappointed when one of the children (Kate) said that it wouldn't be Christmas without the presents, (then again it's a secular Christmas film so they aren't going to mention Jesus) and the elves looked more like Furbies instead of elves, and Santa was shown to have a bit of a naughty side,.. but as the other child (Teddy) pointed out, the story of Santa Claus is that he breaks into houses in the middle of the night to leave presents which if he wasn't Santa he would probably go to prison since breaking and entering is illegal LOL!

Anyways, other than those flaws all in all I really enjoyed it and Kurt Russell is the best Santa Claus I've seen since Tim Allen and I still rate it a ten out of ten. The ending is especially moving to me as well but I won't give away too many spoilers because I definitely recommend seeing it if you haven't already. I do believe that as long as Netflix has it, or if it ever comes out on DVD and Blu-ray, (I will definitely purchase it then) it will become an annual tradition of watching it every year now just like my other favorite Christmas films. :thumbsup
