I think this thread is basically about the new changes to the forum that we all received in a private message right? Or am I mistaken? If I am correct I'm a little bit sorry to see the current events and politics forum go, but I can understand that that kind of stuff can get rather heated so I'm still supportive of it.

I like this. I like forums where people treat each other with respect, and love.

Yeah, but as I was just posting about in my news thread, that means that that thread will unfortunately cease to exist as well. :sad And I sort of enjoyed pretending to be a news reporter.

If the primary purpose of someone joining CFnet is to discuss politics, why not seek forums (which are plenty) that go much deeper than we go here? Who finds a church to attend to seek out debates, especially political debates? I wouldn't stay connected with a church community that argued with me every time I spoke up.

CFnet will be different without this component, and it will draw believers it's pushed away until now who were seeking something hard to find; an online community that actually lifts them up and helps them draw nearer to Christ.

We understand that this won't please some people, but it will be exactly what others need. :yes

Very good point. I'm not a hundred percent pleased, but I understand why it has to be done. And no of course that wasn't ever my primary purpose for joining here, I have found exactly what I was looking for in growing closer to the Lord. However, I sort of did enjoy discussing it as well as some other fun topics on here since I like just having normal conversations sometimes too. But I really don't like all the fighting and arguing, I just like being able to share my beliefs and opinions about things that's all. :) But because of this change Tessie (Tessa) is coming back and that's certainly worth it for sure! :woot

Some do use sites,as I did ,to get an idea of political positions one should take.
I understand the ministry thing howe ver given I and other live in a retirement state,or are retired.euthanasia may be something one might want to duscuss.

I have lost relatives to dementia.

I don't think there are other places that "go deeper" than we go here. Not unless they're outrageously hostile to Christianity, anyway.

One of the reasons I like being here is the debate and discussion and that, for the most part, I am surrounded by believers; not just the members but the moderators as well. When I make a point that supports a Christian world view I am not immediately attacked by a dozen non-believing atheists as I would be at most other sites. I am surrounded by my own kind, for the most part, who understand and are supportive of a conservative Christian viewpoint. If all I wanted to do was bloody my sword I would go back to .com and have at it with the Enemy's own. We are not of the world but we are in it and we should attempt to shape it to His liking to the best of our ability....even through such a small opening as here. Maybe I should remove from my sig line my anti-abortion view.....that is, after all, highly political and regularly in current events. To not be able to openly stand against such a wrong here is beyond belief. To say I am disappointed with this direction is an understatement.

Good point.

There is nothing wrong with taking a stand against wickedness and sin...never will be an issue here.

But lets remember what this place is really about...
It's a lot like church. Where an anti-abortion viewpoint is going to be well received...it isn't the focus of why we come together. If someone needed support for a poor choice in having an abortion I would rather they be able to find the forgiveness that God would give them instead of a bunch of finger pointing (when they already know abortion is wrong)

Most sins people commit are known to be wrong if they consider them. We don't have to remind them of their flaws. The outside world is full of contradiction and chaos...they tell women that an abortion is a good choice but spanking a child is worse than murder. People who come here need affirmation of their choice to follow God. Not a ton of condemnation of sins they once committed.
And you don't find affirmation on a battlefield.

I have to admit guys, he's got a pretty good point too and that's coming from somebody who is deadset against abortion.
