About 8 or 9 years ago, while working in the hospital, a patient saw how stressed I was and she could see my anxiety settling in upon me.
She had another worker give me this and I would like to share it with you.

"Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer. Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God's heart."

"Walk cheerfully and with a sincere and open heart as much as you can, and when you cannot always maintain this holy joy, at least do not lose your trust in God."

"Do not tire yourself over things that cause anxiety and worry. Only one thing is necessary; to lift up your spirit and love God."

Hi Allen,

This sounds very nice.
But sometimes I do feel like God has abandoned me. I know He hasn't and I know it's only a feeling of mine,
so I don't pay any attention to it. It could last a day or a few days, then it passes. This usually happens when I have too many things to deal with.

We're still on this earth. We still have to resolve problems. They still come our way. I believe this is only natural.
Sometimes I feel like maybe I don't trust God enough; but I could only do the best I can in giving things over to Him.
It has also happened at times that I was so stressed that I just asked God to take the burden from me, and immediately I felt relief and peace.

I like what you wrote about walking with a sincere and open heart. Be smiling and as happy as possible -- maybe I don't mean happy --- I think I mean joyful. I'm not happy most of the time, but I'm very joyful to know our Lord.
