I bet this idea has already been done but I want to mention it anyway.
Do it with kids or adults on the first lesson you meet.
Hand out blank labels for name cards to all.
I want you to write on the label "Child of God".
Then stand up and walk round introducing yourselves to everyone in the class. "Hi. I'm a child of God"
"Nice to meet you. So am I"
Just a 5 minute icebreaker to start the class.
The object of the lesson is see ourselves and each other as children of God more than our names and gender or other differences. Of course differences and our uniqueness are important. But the importance of seeing our common ground.
Criticism welcome. I used to be a teacher, not of Christianity but sometimes I wonder how I would teach it.
