I always go by the saying that age is just a number. That you're really only as old as you feel. However I was just wondering something. For almost everybody already knows on here that people in the Bible lived to be hundreds of years old and becoming parents when their bodies should have long been placed into the ground and (their spirits gone to either Heaven or Hell depending on whether or not they were saved) become great, great, great, great etc... grandparents. So, my question is, why don't we live as long as we used to. We went from living to very long extensive periods of time to not very long lives to somewhat long lives again. So what exactly is the reason for this? Does anybody know?

As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind. 2 Kings 2:11 NIV
