We have several "Talk Radio" programs here in Tennessee. On one particular program, The Host says he is a Christian and has the Spirit (Holy Spirit). He talks well of the Lord and could be a good witness or Ambassador of Christ..........But....He talks about his favorite TV programs, How exciting or good they are. One of hem is called "Nashville", Another one is "House of Cards" with Kevin Spacey. I started to watch House of Cards, but it got to vulgar for me. But the talk radio host thinks it is great? The TV program Nashville is just like the Soap Opera's that have been on TV for over 50 years. Some people email the host regarding some of his decisions, and he tells them to KMA. He curses often and makes unseemly and vulgar wisecracks on just about everything....and I mean vulgar. I only listen to radio when driving, of which I do not do much anymore, but I had been expecting to see the radio station fire him any time....but they don't. He really gets personal about his sex live with his wife sometime that even embarrasses me. Yet, I have heard him read emails of people praising him because he witnesses how the Lord came into his life. Is it no wonder that the religious give God a bad name. The raido host grieves the Spirit in me and reminds me of what Paul said about those who claim to be brothers that live in the world (world principles), to not even eat with them. What I get from his testimony is he is bragging about how religious he is. I can not connect to him Spiritually. I talked to my sister yesterday who lives in Hadley, PA. When her Children were little, her and her children would ride the Church bus every Sunday and it was always packed with children and adults, Her children have all grown up and all but one has moved away (he teaches Sunday school), but she said that there is hardly any children on the bus anymore and some of the churches have closed down because of low attendance. The enemy has crept in unawares to the religious, but not to the brethern, and I believe it has a lot do with the last 40 years or more.....especially the last eight years. One way to check our self is: Would we be ashamed if the Lord appeared in our presence at the time of what we were watching, or listening or thinking, or doing and even speaking. I think about that a lot .

one thought is the bible says if you see someone in a sin pray for him and it also says go to him privately and tell him of his fault

i met a sweet young couple years ago who were living together and attending church regularly

i thought to myself - what kind of christians are they?

good thing i held my tongue on that judgemental thought

instead i told them both very kindly about what the bible says about the blessings of marriage and how God wants us living in committed relationships

they were impressed and believe it or not they really didn't know living together outside of marriage was a sin - they were so new to christianity

i learned that day that many people do not read the bible enough - or even at all - and are genuinely ignorant of what it says on various issues

the couple very quickly got married

God Bless you my friend

What can I say Doug.
Buy your own radio station and put in on a time slot with his and see if you can't take his audience away with the truth.

This brings to mind that of 2 Timothy 3:1-7. This is the reason why I quit watching all those TV preachers (there are very few good ones) and walked away from conventional churches and their traditional doctrines of man. Many churches are closing their doors as the fruit of the Spirit nor the light of Christ is found in them any more. Religion has become all about self and what one can gain from the world. It's the actions of others who profess being a Christian, but their fruit is rotten that causes non-believers to turn away. The light of the ambassadors for Christ has become dim as no good fruit is found in them. The harvest is plenty, but the labors are few, Matthew 9:35-38.

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

If I may toss in a question without hijacking the thread: What does it mean to be "Ambassadors for Christ"? IMO, Truthfrees, in his post above, demonstrated true ambassadorship. Rather than confront people with their sin he talked to this couple pointing out how God wants us to live in a concerned and loving manner rather than in condemnation. Bravo brother, you have taught me a great lesson this day.

praise God

when i think more on this i realize this is how i would want someone to treat me

and come to think of it this is how God treats me - when i am doing something wrong He tells me what to do - rather than give me a thrashing for what i did

i think God is more interested in us conforming to the character of Christ - rather than punishing us

God Bless you

Hi Garion, When a man is born again, there is a change in his life....A new man (The Holy Spirit) and we do not seek the things of the flesh, but walk after the Spirit. (Rom. 8:5-10) The true believer does not practice sin anymore, yet we are not sinless in this flesh, we still have that weakness and sometime do not do what we should. There is a battle within us. (Gal. 5:16-26). We are Ambassadors of Christ......Not everyone who goes to Church is born again. Do not judge all Christians by those who claim to be...but are not. Many so called christians give God a bad name. Yes, we repent, God forgives Those He know. Access to the throne of God's Grace is through Christ. I pray you might know Him as He is.

I see, so this would be a ritual? and if I'm not"born again" then I should doubt my Faith in God... correct?
