“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Cor. 2:9) NKJ

Have you noticed what I have noticed lately? Does it seem like Americans are getting more and more angry and restless? They don’t trust their government and they feel that those in power are giving themselves the breaks while leaving the people they are elected to serve out in the cold. Because of government policy's there are less jobs to be had and the gap between the rich and the poor is growing steadily.

This is the exact position that Europe was facing in the 1700’s. The people were fed up with the monarchy and the way they ruled. But two scenarios played out in two different countries. One was a story of revival and the other a story of revolution.

The first country was England. They were fed up with monarchs and in economic crisis because of the loss the money spent on the Revolutionary War and the loss of the American colonies. But they experienced a peaceful transition into democracy because of one man. His name was John Wesley. If you do not know who John Wesley was, he was the founder of the Methodist Church. More important than that, he was the first itinerant preacher. He was a soapbox preacher.

He had no church when he started, so he would go out in the street, stand on a box and start preaching. His method of preaching was met with a lot of opposition, but he soon started to amass followers. Others such a George Whitefield joined him and started doing the same thing. John’s brother Charles also joined him. Charles would lead the praise and worship while John preached. Together they traversed England many times and brought great revival to that nation.

When John Wesley died in 1791 there were 79,000 Methodists in England and 40 to 50 thousands in America and Canada for a total of 119,000. By 1901 there were said to be nearly 25 million adherents to Methodism.

France, however, was not so lucky. They experienced a bloody transition to democracy. It is said that blood ran like water in the streets. During what was called the Reign of Terror nearly 40,000 people were executed in one year. The road to democracy and peace was a long and bloody journey for the French.

America is at a crossroads right now. We have the same political and economic issues that the French and English were dealing with in the 18th century. Which history will we follow? Will we have revival and peaceful transition or will we have revolution and a bloody transition?

Revival starts one heart at a time. Our ministry, Called from the Deserts Ministries is a partner ministry with CFnet. We are dedicated in seeing revival come to our nation. If you stand with us got to www.calledfromthedesert.com/capture-page-1 to join us.

Scary (and sad) times for America. Not only do we have a situation in which the gap between the rich and poor is growing, the middle class is shrinking, and many are chronically un- or under-employed, we tend to blame "losers" for their lot in life. We're "Keeping up with the Kardashians" while our economy and society crumble. I like your examples, England and France. I've read a bit where some historians compare America in our present state to another regime: Rome, as debauchery, poor policies, and social unrest led to the demise of the empire and the society.

Yup, that is what we could be facing. Very sad indeed, but the Lord still loves us and wishes a revival I believe. He can fix anything, but He is the only one that will fix it.

Sandy, I am interested in what you and your husband are are called by God to do. I did check out your short video on America at the crossroads. It was a good presentation. I also have checked out your web site "Called from the desert ministries." I haven't got involved with it because I feel that your ministry is more for new believers or those who have known the Lord for a long time without knowing a lot of the basics and need your instructions in their callings, gifts etc. I applaud your efforts, wisdom and drive to reach these people.

I don't know how to express my feelings toward being involved with your type of outreach without sounding very prideful. I am very advanced in my relationship with our Savior. I'm aware of what you will be teaching, I either have heard it before or I have taught it myself and right now I simply don't have the time to get involved with another commitment. Please, don't take offense at anything I've said. I love you very much in the Lord and feel that your ministry is extremely important because so many believers simply have not gone very far in their understanding of God's ways.

Having said this, I would like to help and be involved in some way. I just don't know how. On an average day, I have anywhere from 6 to 10 posts that I need to answer, plus commenting in the 71 days in Isaiah, plus at least a half a dozen posts that I need to comment on through the day, plus attend to my 3 Bichon dogs, plus housework because my Wife still works. Plus my personal Bible study, prayer for folk, my personal counseling ministry, and, and, and, I'm tired!

So, how can I be of help to you?

I prefer monarchy to democracy. It resolves so many uncertainties, as I think.

Just as in Elijah's day, God has preserved a remnant of righteous men and women. Our task now, as was Elijah's, is to raise up and nurture a generation of Sons of Prophets.

I'm reminded of Luke 17:20-37 as nothing much will change for the good of the people unless they turn back to God. Even now as the New World Order is being established right under our noses many will be deceived by it which also brings up Matthew 24:23-26. I would dare to say there are not to many Americans that have never heard of Gods salvation through Christ Jesus, but yet choose to ignore and reject. Revival is all well and good, but any Revival I have ever been too I have never seen to many that have not received Christ attend these functions. I believe what we need to be doing at this particular time is what Christ instructed us in Matthew 25:34-40 as we show the works of the Lord to help bring hope and Gods salvation to others.

It is not precisely that way, a I think.

For example if I have met myself, but as I was, say, 10 years ago - we would not team up well. The two of us, which is me, the same person.

You cannot really say that someone is rejecting or accepting something, as I think. This would be wrong. You need to look at a person as if his whole life was in front of you. But you cannot see persons whole life, you see?

We can't ever know that. We are all unfinished business, God is never done working on us...and he meets us at the point of our needs. A church elder and a drunken homeless man on the street are both children of God, and both have spiritual needs.

Yes, I completely agree. Unfortunately, churches have become consumer driven these days instead of service oriented. We go to church to see what we can get out of it not what we can put into it.

What I am saying is people can make a change in their lives no matter the situations that surround them in this world. Some people seem to just accept their lives living in doom, gloom and despair thinking nothing will ever change for them and never do anything to help change their situations. I don't worry about the worlds economy, monarchy or possibility of uprisings as for me I know Gods promises and trust Him to supply all my needs while living on this Earth. God has pulled my husband and me out of many trials we have faced through the years and has always made a way for us when there were no ways. If those who do not know God either through rejecting such a nation that there is one or has never even heard of His Son Christ Jesus then we are not doing our job as being that servant of God that He has called us to be. Like I said, I dare to believe there are not to many that have not heard the name Jesus.

Ray Boltz song I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb sums it all up for me :salute :bible

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

I have heard how Christians long ago
Were brought before a tyrants throne
They were told that he would spare their lives
If they would renounce the name of Christ

But one by one, they chose to die
The Son of God, they would not deny
Like a great angelic choir sings
I can almost hear their voices ring

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

Now, the years have come and the years have gone
And the 'cause of Jesus still goes on
Now, our time has come to count the cost
To reject this world, to embrace the Cross

And one by one let us live our lives
For the One who died to give us life
Till the trumpet sounds on the final day
Let us gladly stand and boldly say

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

To the Lamb of God who bore my pain
Who took my place, who wore my shame
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
