[sarcasm]Yeah the French were so happy about their lack of uncertainty they thankfully had their last king decapitated.[/sarcasm]

Let them eat cake! I think that was France.

I don't know that the queen actually said that but it sure speaks to how the people saw the monarchy.

jesus reigns now. the bible never calls him soon to be King of Kings.all power and authority has been given unto me.
"Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not receive his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years." Rev. 20:4-5

They decapitated the king, then voted for homosexual marriages.

Monarchy is the kind of arrangement that God prepared for us, as I think. This is how Judea was ruled, and Israel.

Yeah Queen Marie Antoinette said that. Someone told her that there was an impending uprising because the people had no bread to eat. She replied by saying the statement you quoted. Or a least that's how the story was told.
Although Amrie Antoinette seemingly was a kind hearted woman she was also a spoiled brat who had no idea about the real life of her people, and also didn't care to get an idea. The anecdote is an example for how the monarchy was detachted from its subject.

Yeah two hundret years later. How are those two things related anyway?

Honestly I doubt God cares for politics as much as we tend to think.

John 16:33
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world./

This is what I believe....
1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

I believe.....
that He is reigning in/from the Kingdom right now. He gave us, as His soldiers, a job to do. He didn't leave us powerless, He left us the Holy Spirit, with power and for guidance. Put on the whole armor of God to be ready for battle every moment of every day and night. We are not without a Leader, a King.
So whether He reigns temporarily on this earth in a 1,000 Mil. or not. He reigns now and His Kingdom has no end.

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

He is King in fact He is the KING of Kings.
Rom 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Something Christians can all do which ever country God has placed us in is ....

2Ch_7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
There is not a land on this earth that does not need God's healing. not a home, or block, city or county, Not a state nor a country side. Lord, Lord heal our lands.

So we are indeed at a crossroads, and hard times are coming, even here. Shall we worry about it? No. Don't dwell on the possibility of bad things happening:

Phillipians 4:6-8
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things./(KJV)

Careful;

That is very true. But if the Lord wants to bring revival to His church, should we work toward that end?

There is not a land on this earth that does not need God's healing. not a home, or block, city or county, Not a state nor a country side. Lord, Lord heal our lands.
The key words in that passage for me is, MY PEOPLE. Not sinners, but God's own people. They have sinned and turned away from Him.

That is very true. But if the Lord wants to bring revival to His church, should we work toward that end?

My first thought is, absolutely.

My second thought is...what is revival? Where you go to a service somewhere and a man preaches and many people accept the Lord? Huh. Not necessarily. We are revival. We are to spread the Word. That one neighbor you bring to Christ, or that one person in the grocery store that you plant a seed in...means more than one may think. Revival isn't 'out there' somewhere. It is within us. There is the perspective we should have.

Sow the seeds of revival brothers and sisters! It is our Christian duty. Then you walk away from planting a seed and may never know what happened to them. But then the Holy Spirit does His job and goes home with that person watering the seed that you planted in them. That's how revival works!

My second thought is...what is revival? Where you go to a service somewhere and a man preaches and many people accept the Lord?

I think you said that, but I will reiterate,

this revival is not on the stage, not in some kind of service, but in the heart.

Any place is now at crossroads, because hearts are at crossroads.

With love.

Isn't crossroads a term describing being double minded? Indecisive or uncertain? We are to be single minded and remain focused upon our Lord always.
