As most of you if not all of you might already be aware of by now, we lost another legendary artist yesterday. Aretha Franklin passed away of pancreatic cancer. :sad It says that she grew up in church on Wikipedia, so hopefully she knew the Lord and she is in a better place now. :halo R.I.P Aretha, you had an AMAZING voice and there will never be another one like you. Ariana might have done a great job here with this song, but there always has and will always be one Aretha Franklin. :salute

I heard about that, and that's too bad. I really liked her singing! She just released a new album is what I was reading about a week or two ago! With new songs and everything.

Trivia Question! :
What is the greatest song released that Aretha Franklin did not write?!

Ikr? And sorry, but I have absolutely no idea lol!

It was a song by Fontella Bass called Resue Me...She sounds just like Aretha Franklin. I heard it on the radio all the time when I was a kid, and thought it was Aretha Franklin. I didn't find out the truth until a few years ago because of YouTube, lol.

Really?? I didn't know that either. I remember hearing that song on Sister act and assuming that it was Aretha.

I know! It blew my mind when I read that. punched it up and bam, Fontella, not Aretha. Boy those black girls sure can sing. I like listening to them. I had such a big crush on Diana Ross when I was a kid, lol...

Lol! I'm not sure whether or not you've ever seen Sister Act by the way, but it's a GREAT movie imo and VERY funny! :hysterical Here's the scene I was speaking of that has that song in it. Cute little doggie at the end of the clip too. :)

I can tell the difference in their voices now, but I couldn't back then.

I have seen all those movies. I was married for a long time. I didn't watch much tv but I would watch movies with her. She always got to pick, lol.

I forgot to mention to you before that I thought there were only two movies? The original and the sequel.

HiR,

We've lost an amazing women with a voice that rocked my soul as a DJ playing her music.

I'd like to see evidence that she was a born-again Christian, even though she was raised in the church.

He will wash you whiter than snow was what she sang in her younger days. I hope this was the song of her heart at death: 'You washed me whiter than snow; I'm redeemed by the blood of the Lamb' and one minute after her last breath she was in the presence of Jesus.

It's too late to do anything about her relationship with God now.
