Jesus died bodily even though He was sinless, so I see no reason why Adam and Eve were ever intended for an eternal physical life before their first sin.

God's intent was for Jesus to die for the sins of the world, because He see's the end from the beginning and works all things according to the counsel of His will.

as it is written -

He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you 1 Peter 1:20

As I said, from the scriptures that I gave, I believe it was God's intent for them to live forever, however He gave them a free will and a choice to choose whether to obey.

as it is written -

35 But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36 nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. Luke 20:35-36

In this scripture, I see God's intent for Mankind from the beginning, as His intent was carried out in spite of man's rebellion.

In the beginning, mankind could have reproduced from perfect, sinless bodies with full dominion over the earth as Jesus displayed, without all the suffering to mankind as well as to the earth and the effects sin had upon the animal kingdom.

Jesus will restore all things to back to His original state, however He will cleanse the heaven and the earth by fire to do so.

That's the way I see it.

Otherwise, why all the suffering on everyone's part.

Because Jesus was foreordained before the foundation of the world to die for the sins of the world, there is no reason to believe God ever thought sin would not enter the world. Thus there is no reason to believe God provided Adam and Eve with physical bodies not destined to die, when from before the foundation of the world His plan was always to provide for them resurrection from certain death to new glorified bodies through Jesus. Suffering was brought through sin, which entered the world because Adam and Eve were created good, but not perfect.

Jesus said only God is good.

So if only God is good and God is perfect then what He created was perfect for what He intended, which was for His creation to partake of the tree of life and live.

God did not intend for them to rebel and bring sin into the world, however he was aware of what they would do.

After sin enters the created world only God(whom is not created) is untainted by it and therefore still good, but before that all creation was good. Jesus work redeems the fallen world and restores it to goodness through Him. Perfect is greater than good, and is only applicable to God. Perfect is incorruptible, whereas good can be corrupted and fall as Adam and Eve certainly did.

Gen 1:31 - And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

I think there's a bigger picture we must look at in order to take everything in and harmonize what we read in scripture. It seems pretty clear from what is written about God in the scriptures that God had/has a plan for His creation. Being that He is said to know the end from the beginning I think it is a safe assumption to pressume that He not only created man knowing man would sin, but also had man's sin in His plans from the beginning. With this being the case sin, and a world infested with sins reprocussions had to have been a part of the Divine Plan.

Many seem to think that God created a perfect, yet fragile world that could be broken my sin only to initiate a plan to fix what was broken and eliminate sin. I personally don't see how that holds water and am persuaded that there is more to God's reasoning than the above mentioned plan allows for. I personally believe that it makes more sense to buy into the idea that God's creative intent was to create a being of family of beings worthy of the glory of God. This sinful world then was created to be a sort of proving ground for He who would get to share in and not fall short of God's glory.
