Designed for telephones, Android has grown successfully into the tablet business, which includes a lot of touchscreen games. And yes, an Android tablet can go onto the internet. But should you buy an Android laptop?

Although Google owns Android (and Chrome) they have kept Android open-source. This has allowed companies like Samsung to make adaptations for their specific smart phones. But it has also produced so many versions of Android that Google has a hard time updating it without wrecking up somebody's phone.

I just heard an Android OS joke, but it will take several months for all of you to get it.

There are so many versions of Android out there, that it is difficult to send upgrades without messing up a lot of them. So Google has to carefully send out the updates to a few at a time to see if something goes wrong. Some updates literally arrive several months after being written.

I have an Android "desktop" on a cubox. While a mobile OS is not the best choice for a desktop (no right clicking), it's not bad. Android is based off of Linux and as such does not get drive-by malware. Right now it's the only "desktop" I have. Cubox is made in Israel.

BTW, as a side note here, Cubox is a tower computer. It measures 2"x2'x2" the same size as a child's toy block, and is 2014 technology. You can run computer, massive home videos and whatnot off of it. My only complaint is that the Micros SD cards that go into it has a limited local storage, e.g. 64 GB. But for the past 10 years I wanted a computer with a chip HD, i.e. SSHD instead of a disk drive. I was ahead of my time as I saw the future 10 years ago. Most SSHD's are no more than 64GB and I wish they were larger. "Today" has not arrived for me yet, and my "today" is yet in the future. I still find a lot of stuff primitive compared to what I imagine.
